  • In this video we learn how to design the breadboard circuit for a 555 Timer LED Chaser from a schematic diagram. Learn how to use DIY Layout Creator to help you build and prototype electronic circuits on breadboard. Building a circuit from a schematic onto breadboard can be confusing - DIYLC makes it easier by allowing you to design the layout visually first before making the circuit.

    Thank you introducing me to this. I've tried other common apps and they were all pretty wonting. This one is perfect for my needs.

    I tried Fritzing and Lochmaster before DIYLC, which is simple and flexible yet plenty of flexibility. It would be good to have Arduino and PI models

      Yes, that would be great!

    Great video. I like what you are presenting. I got DIYLC for Windows installed. How do I get rid of the list on the right side of the screen? It is very annoying and limits the project space requiring panning to use the design window on larger projects.

      Hi Robert - Glad you liked the video! To change the view go to the "Config" menu at the top of the screen, select "Toolbox" and then "Tabbed Toolbar". This will move it to the top of the screen.

    Shouldn't you group all elements of the switch, before saving it as a building block?

    • @teksparkz
      @teksparkz  Год назад +1

      That's a good question Copernico - you would normally think so, but DIYLC seems to group the items together anyway once you select them all and right click to select "Save as building block". If you do want to group them first just right click on your selected shapes, right click on them and select "Transform Selection" and then "Group Selection".

    Is it possible for such an app to support Protel Netlist from a schematic capture app and then
    use that netlist in DIYLC to aid in component placement, jumper and grinding off traces?

    • @teksparkz
      @teksparkz  10 месяцев назад

      That's a great idea! It might be worth suggesting that to the developer. Check the help menu in the app for contact details.

      There is an import netlist option already, I tried importing a netlist but I can't seem to find any other feature to actually make use of it.

      @@davidreichert9392 it would be very interesting to see how AI can help to make make full "auto routing" by erasing off the copper traces to make a functional board which you can then optimize yourself later

    When I try to activate DIYLC after downloading it to my computer I get warnings both from Bitdefender and Windows (10) that the program is potentially dangerous, so I've never completed the process. Anyone else seen these issues?

      Hi James, DIYLC is not that well known yet so some antivirus programs may treat the installer file with suspicion which is normal. This often happens with software created by small independent developers. I have installed it on several computers running both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and I have been using it for a few years at this stage. So far I haven't had any issues with it (as far as I know), but as I did not create the software I wouldn't be in a position to give any guarantees as to whether it is malware free.
