Roland’s Piano evolved to become dubstep and Angela’s Violin became a lead guitar as it did in the 3rd phase of their realization. Now that is storytelling through music
I was so sad that they neglected employees/assistants in LoR. They didn't even show up much in the Library chit-chat episodes, but the thought that choir is the collective voice of the employees/assistants warms my heart.

(that one is truly hers, not borrowed like with Xiao's or Iori's) As for the Reverberation Ensemble...no, they didn't.

By the time we fight him as part of the ensemble, there really isn't anything left of the original Philip and he's turned entirely into a distortion. He's even worse after being brought back by the Light. Philip will remain the one and only true victim of the library.
I can't believe it took me this long to realize, but the Reverb Ensemble represents the Qliphoth, the opposite of the Sephiroth. This rematch is instead YOUR theme, the sound of hope and selflessness.
To be fair, they are fighting the strongest EGO to ever be manifested (The Library) so it's a pretty understandable loss. Thank god Carmen wasn't able to distort Angela or else it would've been GG for everyone everywhere
One thing that doesn't get talked about here is that this is where we get to hear Argalia's instrument clearly, which is the electric guitar. You could hear in their previous theme but the guitar was very quiet but now that Argalia is being open with his emotion, you can hear it loud and clear.
i find it cool that the background of each layer represents each of the members 1st layer: the strung up roadkill(brehmen), the grill(greta), the gears(eileen) and the candles(philip) 2nd:the puppet pillars(puppeter), the circus creatures(oswald) and the wercking balls(tanya) 3rd:the bloody monster(elena), the skull with the yellow sigil(pluto) and the blue strings(argalia)
1 other thing i noticed from the Asiyah, that the instrument that were being strung up there were Tuba, Trombone and Horn(Musicians of Bremen), a pair of drumstick/percussions(Greta), a Harp(Eileen) and a Cello(Philip) as described by The Purple Tear in her pre-battle cutscene
Actually, it goes deeper than that. If you look closely, all the layers always had the concert hall as the main background. The last time we saw this very concert hall was when we fought The Silent Orchestra Realization. It appears to be that Argalia in his distorted state, was truly becoming something similar to The Pianist or the Orchestra themselves, and, at the same time, he was always there for his friends.
I feel that the bloodied being in the background of the third phase is Angelica/Carmen, both being people who caused the main characters of the first two games to spiral. The skull inside them representing both Tomorrow's Promise and how both characters (angelica and carmen) had promises that were broken. Angelica being by Roland and Argalia's side and Carmen resolving the pain of the city.
One thing I noticed, as all the members of the Ensemble have their own uniquely tied instrument and so do Angela and Roland (violin and piano respectfully), Roland's trauma is the piano, but in here the electric guitar fits him better, especially in Atziluth. Since its the floor where he interrupts the fight to clash with Argalia. You can hear the electric guitar peer in Briah as Roland supposedly helps by assisting the other floors, then in Atziluth he comes full out clashing with Argalia saving the selected floor against his mass attack.
A friend of mine made an interesting point/had an insightful thought. We have the sephirot and the tree of life references as an obvious draw on Kabbalistic/Jewish Mysticism, but not shown in any of the games so far is the concept of Da'at, which has the literal translation from Hebrew to English as "Knowledge." It is at the center of the tree of life and represents the unification/oneness of all the sefirot acting in concert/their concepts and virtues combined; it is also called "The Divine Light." Given this fight happens while Angela is trying to spread the light as Ayin intended, and every librarians floor has its own musical theme that has elements which appear in this song as well, this song/fight is basically a glimpse into Da'at. And it's such a beautiful/good song for it too, it made me feel just so much emotions when first hearing it; definitely lives up to representing Da'at if that is what it's meant to be.

I actually think the guitar may represent Angela here. Considering phase 3 of her realization theme has a predominant electric guitar in it as well. The only other songs that have it are Gebura’s and it’s obviously not that.

I can't shake the feeling that this theme, in comparison to the Ensemble theme, is cheering YOU on. After making the choices that led to this point, after committing to protect Angela, you and the librarians and Roland are all fighting for a common goal, with absolute resolve. This is not the Ensemble's music, this is YOUR music. The music of hope, forgiveness, love, and courage.
I feel that, this theme has literally just about ALL the different themes from everywhere squeezed into it. You can hear just about all the floors, everything, even a little dash of the reverb ensemble themselves. It truly tells you the journey that has been taken is not in vain, and it is time to reap the good fruits.

Love this series of songs, unlike most I prefer to think these still reflect the Ensemble - they seemed so happy and at ease with themselves after coming back fully Distorted, I felt good for them and thought maybe we'd not need to fight - they seemed genuinely happy with their new forms and wanted to share the experience with The City and wanted even for the Library to join them, though distortion on most I assume wouldn't allow them to remain lucid like the Ensemble seems to
The way I interpreted it was "Star of the City" is the highest level the Hana Association can give to a threat. Impurity is a special class assigned by the Head (I need to recheck this, if it was really assigned by the head), but the Head being what it is (secretive af), the fact that the Head designed the Library as an impurity is not known to anyone else, hence the Library still being referred to as SotC in the bad end. Of course, I think the other interpretation is cooler
@@LilacAsteria There is theory that we were consider impurity twice. Once in LCorp when Hod sold A out and Binah came and now second time after Angela gave up light and shined it 7 days straight again.
@@Dexeox I thought about that too I've reviewed the intro of Impurity Hana still considers the Library as SotC during their intro and from the text it seems like SotC is indeed their highest threat level ("the Library will marks its presence on the sky next to the other Star as one of the freest beings of the City") Then that means, Impurity is assigned by the Head (Roland first mentions impurity when he brings up the Head). But the chapter begins right before the Hana Association and the Head has yet to appear after the Reverb Ensemble. So either the chapter's name is just foreshadowing, or the Head is still observing quietly (which is weird since Angela already released all the light), so we're about to see a huge twist or something
I like to think that this song is each patron librarian taking the respective instruments of the ensemble member they faced and coming together to play, and motivating the rest of the Library to fight, just like another commenter said.
To make it even better, there's one instrument unaccounted for from the ensemble that shows up in the final stretch. So instead of being the conductor as a counterpart to Argalia, Roland is just rocking out on the electric guitar the entire time.
This track exists to remind you that this is YOUR moment, that there IS hope in this world and that the city will forever be in your debt. All you need to do is remove the threat in your sights, lest it be released back into the city to wreck havoc.

The Reverbation Ensemble, The Pianist, even things like The City or what Angela is doing throughout the game. These all act like systems, like unmovable things that use others for their own benefit. In a way you could say that Roland and Angela both learn throughout the game to break free of this by going against what these things represent and it is a beauty.

You've listened to these kinds of music, music of hopelessness, threat, and insanity. But this time, those are gone. It's no longer pitch-black. It's no longer heartbreaking. It's no longer the time to lose the opportunity. You held your weapons high and mighty. You stood on your feet tall and upright. You stared down at the objects you no longer fear. *I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING* ... but big spoilers ahead if you haven't gottten to the endgame yet . . . . So you know how the Reverberation theme phases represent the Ensemble members fought on each layer? (As pointed out by Strig on "Reverberation" comments) Well I was reading all your comments saying it actually is cheering *you* on, and yeah this song does the same as Reverberation, representing the Sephirot of each layer, from top to bottom floors (opposite order than pointed out on the video). - First phase features Choir and Organ (Referencing Hokma's religious theme) including a vast Orchestra (Referencing Binah's Symphonic Orchestra), thus introducing *Atziluth* as the opening members, the wisest ones who sacrifised the most to see Angela's redemption happen. - Second phase includes Electric Guitar (Geburah intensifies, and later awakens as the Red Mist in the next phase) and continues with Violins and Viola (Chesed and Tiph themes were both heavy on String instruments), with little flute cameos, posibly representing Enoch's influence on Tiph. With this, *Briah* is included on the Library's own Ensemble. - Last but not least, the Third phase immediatly starts with Trumpets (representing *Malkuth's* enthusiasm) and strong pressence of drums (Yesod's Pure Blunt Power), later featuring victorian piano (Hod's piano) and more wind instruments (Netzach i think? His theme didn't really fit here but could be him, only _sober_). With this, *Aziyah* completes the Ensemble.
You're only the good guys if both sides of the disaster duo agree to try and forgive the other. Otherwise you get a Bad Ending as they get their respective vengeance.
I personally think that the Electric guitar on the final phase of the reception represents Roland. The main reason is because of how Roland has found a brand new revleation and was able to move on to a newer and better person thus ditching the violins and replacing it with something more energetic, more inspiration and filled to the brim with energy as Roland now has something he could stand on instead of being blinded by his rage.
Remember when Angelas try to become with the light but pulled out by Roland? Well now she is an ANDROID and that means she is an impurity and the head will probably try to kill her. But because the light has shone for 7 days now protected by Roland of course. IT'S INEVITABLE that Roland will manifest his own E.G.O to defeat the head who is trying to kill angela. But probably Keter realization first. Probably Carmen
@@Silancet Keter still has the 5th abnormality locked, and 3 episodes missing along with its EGO, there WILL be realization. The thing about not being able to realize floors was for the duration of the reception because it involves two choices involving the state of your floor levels.
Well Angela is literally u killable now tho because she's an AI. But the head will come for us because we had broken too many rules and we are changing the way the City works. Regardlesd, Roland will still defend Angela.
Fight against a bunch of freaks who went Super Sayian? or a friendly football (Soccer for us Americans) match? You decide. Okay, all jokes aside, this fight was amazing and somehow easier than the BS thrown at us earlier in this update. Some of the new forms looked sick, especially: Bremen who looked like something out of The Thing Eileen who went Whitenight on us Pluto is literally the devil while others like Tanya and Greta were lame because it felt like they just took off their shirts.
@@Silancet tanya is the lamest of the ensemble, shit base design, shit fully-distorded form, shit personality (if she had any in the first place). And on top of all, I almost slept during her fight because of how simple and easy it was. Even during the distorded phase she was barely an inconvenience that barely slows you down when you try to rush Oscar.
Imagine fighting the Distorted Ensemble in a gameplay style like Kingdom Hearts or any action game that isn't turn by turn, I would have loved to fight that 3 round boss over and over just for the music alone. But the Card system is so goshdarn difficult (especially if you're unlucky) that after finishing it once I don't wanna go through that 1~2 hours of pain again
well, i found much more dificult the keter floor realization(that really was painfull), and now with all the pages and books we didnt have in the beta i think it would be less dificult now
아시야, 브리아, 아지루스를 듣고 느낀 바로는 잔향악단의 완전한 해방과 이들과의 전투는 분명 전의 전투보다 힘들텐데 긴장감이 있는 브금이랑 거리가 멀었음. 무엇보다 개인적으로는 잔향악단보다 롤랑의 브금인 거 같음. 롤랑과 안젤라의 화해(?)를 기념하는 브금이라고 해야하나? 전까진 자신의 애인인 안젤리카를 구하지 못한 것에 대한 자책감 그리고 도시를 원망하는 것으로 나날을 보내고 과거를 놓지 못해 안젤라와 도서관을 없애버리려 했지만 보라눈물이 마지막에 무언가에 얽매이지 말고 원하는 것을 하라고 했을 때, 그 상황에 안젤라를 없앤다는 선택지가 있음에도 그녀를 용서하면서 잔향악단이 안젤라를 해치려는 걸 막아섰고 결국엔 푸른잔향을 꿰뚫음. 그리고 대화를 통해 롤랑이 앞 뒤 재면서 살기 싫고 나를 위해 뭔가 하나는 하고 싶다는 둥 안젤라에게 종이 쪼가리를 주면서 안젤라는 종이에 적혀진 일의 절반도 해내지 못할 것이라는 말에 서로 고민해보자는 말로 더 이상 있으리라 생각치 못했던 둘의 이야기가 아직 끝나지 않았다는 걸 알려주는데(끼얏호 게임 끝내지 말고 계속 만들라구 프문) 결론 : 그건 그거고, 이건 이거고.

Absolutly, the music is filled with positive emotions and hope. Kinda reminds me of Undertale's ,,Hopes and dreams'' in a way.
I feel that, this theme has literally just about ALL the different themes from everywhere squeezed into it. You can hear just about all the floors, everything, even a little dash of the reverb ensemble themselves.
It truly tells you the journey that has been taken is not in vain, and it is time to reap the good fruits.

Love this series of songs, unlike most I prefer to think these still reflect the Ensemble - they seemed so happy and at ease with themselves after coming back fully Distorted, I felt good for them and thought maybe we'd not need to fight - they seemed genuinely happy with their new forms and wanted to share the experience with The City and wanted even for the Library to join them, though distortion on most I assume wouldn't allow them to remain lucid like the Ensemble seems to

The two bad endings make me wonder if the library stops being an impurity in the Angela ending since it continues the cycle of suffering in the city.
It does. It's reduced to just star of the city. We were consider impurity because we could change a way of City itself.
The way I interpreted it was "Star of the City" is the highest level the Hana Association can give to a threat. Impurity is a special class assigned by the Head (I need to recheck this, if it was really assigned by the head), but the Head being what it is (secretive af), the fact that the Head designed the Library as an impurity is not known to anyone else, hence the Library still being referred to as SotC in the bad end.
Of course, I think the other interpretation is cooler
@@LilacAsteria There is theory that we were consider impurity twice. Once in LCorp when Hod sold A out and Binah came and now second time after Angela gave up light and shined it 7 days straight again.

I've reviewed the intro of Impurity
Hana still considers the Library as SotC during their intro and from the text it seems like SotC is indeed their highest threat level ("the Library will marks its presence on the sky next to the other Star as one of the freest beings of the City")
Then that means, Impurity is assigned by the Head (Roland first mentions impurity when he brings up the Head). But the chapter begins right before the Hana Association and the Head has yet to appear after the Reverb Ensemble. So either the chapter's name is just foreshadowing, or the Head is still observing quietly (which is weird since Angela already released all the light), so we're about to see a huge twist or something

I like to think that this song is each patron librarian taking the respective instruments of the ensemble member they faced and coming together to play, and motivating the rest of the Library to fight, just like another commenter said.
To make it even better, there's one instrument unaccounted for from the ensemble that shows up in the final stretch.
So instead of being the conductor as a counterpart to Argalia, Roland is just rocking out on the electric guitar the entire time.
I like to imagine Gebura is *somehow* shredding on the electric guitar as well, despite already having Tanya's instrument.
And the choirs could be the "lesser" librarians, with Angela as the conductor.
I like that this implies that Hod is going absolutely buck wild on the drums while Netzach is somehow playing a horn, tuba and trombone all at once.

The Reverbation Ensemble, The Pianist, even things like The City or what Angela is doing throughout the game. These all act like systems, like unmovable things that use others for their own benefit. In a way you could say that Roland and Angela both learn throughout the game to break free of this by going against what these things represent and it is a beauty.

So you know how the Reverberation theme phases represent the Ensemble members fought on each layer? (As pointed out by Strig on "Reverberation" comments)
Well I was reading all your comments saying it actually is cheering *you* on, and yeah this song does the same as Reverberation, representing the Sephirot of each layer, from top to bottom floors (opposite order than pointed out on the video).
- First phase features Choir and Organ (Referencing Hokma's religious theme) including a vast Orchestra (Referencing Binah's Symphonic Orchestra), thus introducing *Atziluth* as the opening members, the wisest ones who sacrifised the most to see Angela's redemption happen.
- Second phase includes Electric Guitar (Geburah intensifies, and later awakens as the Red Mist in the next phase) and continues with Violins and Viola (Chesed and Tiph themes were both heavy on String instruments), with little flute cameos, posibly representing Enoch's influence on Tiph. With this, *Briah* is included on the Library's own Ensemble.
- Last but not least, the Third phase immediatly starts with Trumpets (representing *Malkuth's* enthusiasm) and strong pressence of drums (Yesod's Pure Blunt Power), later featuring victorian piano (Hod's piano) and more wind instruments (Netzach i think? His theme didn't really fit here but could be him, only _sober_). With this, *Aziyah* completes the Ensemble.
The Reverberation Ensemble got replaced by the Library Ensemble. I love it.
Phase 3 has lot of electric guitar too so Gebura unga bunga is canon enough too

I personally think that the Electric guitar on the final phase of the reception represents Roland.
The main reason is because of how Roland has found a brand new revleation and was able to move on to a newer and better person thus ditching the violins and replacing it with something more energetic, more inspiration and filled to the brim with energy as Roland now has something he could stand on instead of being blinded by his rage.
With how he looks i'm not surprised they changed Pluto's instrument with an electric guitar

The thing about not being able to realize floors was for the duration of the reception because it involves two choices involving the state of your floor levels.
Well Angela is literally u killable now tho because she's an AI.
But the head will come for us because we had broken too many rules and we are changing the way the City works. Regardlesd, Roland will still defend Angela.

Okay, all jokes aside, this fight was amazing and somehow easier than the BS thrown at us earlier in this update.
Some of the new forms looked sick, especially:
Bremen who looked like something out of The Thing
Eileen who went Whitenight on us
Pluto is literally the devil
while others like Tanya and Greta were lame because it felt like they just took off their shirts.

@@Silancet tanya is the lamest of the ensemble, shit base design, shit fully-distorded form, shit personality (if she had any in the first place). And on top of all, I almost slept during her fight because of how simple and easy it was. Even during the distorded phase she was barely an inconvenience that barely slows you down when you try to rush Oscar.

Imagine fighting the Distorted Ensemble in a gameplay style like Kingdom Hearts or any action game that isn't turn by turn, I would have loved to fight that 3 round boss over and over just for the music alone.
But the Card system is so goshdarn difficult (especially if you're unlucky) that after finishing it once I don't wanna go through that 1~2 hours of pain again
well, i found much more dificult the keter floor realization(that really was painfull), and now with all the pages and books we didnt have in the beta i think it would be less dificult now
The distorted ensemble is not that difficult AT ALL, I first try-ed it and barely had to use my 3rd floor.

I finished it today, this game is peak, I hate yet love this fight so much.
아시야, 브리아, 아지루스를 듣고 느낀 바로는 잔향악단의 완전한 해방과 이들과의 전투는 분명 전의 전투보다 힘들텐데 긴장감이 있는 브금이랑 거리가 멀었음.
무엇보다 개인적으로는 잔향악단보다 롤랑의 브금인 거 같음.
롤랑과 안젤라의 화해(?)를 기념하는 브금이라고 해야하나?
전까진 자신의 애인인 안젤리카를 구하지 못한 것에 대한 자책감 그리고 도시를 원망하는 것으로 나날을 보내고 과거를 놓지 못해 안젤라와 도서관을 없애버리려 했지만 보라눈물이 마지막에 무언가에 얽매이지 말고 원하는 것을 하라고 했을 때, 그 상황에 안젤라를 없앤다는 선택지가 있음에도 그녀를 용서하면서 잔향악단이 안젤라를 해치려는 걸 막아섰고 결국엔 푸른잔향을 꿰뚫음.
그리고 대화를 통해 롤랑이 앞 뒤 재면서 살기 싫고 나를 위해 뭔가 하나는 하고 싶다는 둥 안젤라에게 종이 쪼가리를 주면서 안젤라는 종이에 적혀진 일의 절반도 해내지 못할 것이라는 말에 서로 고민해보자는 말로 더 이상 있으리라 생각치 못했던 둘의 이야기가 아직 끝나지 않았다는 걸 알려주는데(끼얏호 게임 끝내지 말고 계속 만들라구 프문)
결론 : 그건 그거고, 이건 이거고.
