  • Toby Knight was a big, 6-9 lefty forward with a smooth touch who averaged 19.1 points per game in his third season for the Knicks. Then he blew out his ACL, PCL and meniscus in a 1980-81 preseason game. Huge props to him for returning from that for even 40 games. Too bad this second round gem didn't get to have a full career. March 16, 1980.

Toby Knight had his basketball playing career cut short with the knee injury in the exhibition season before the 80-81 season. Had he stayed healthy and they had kept Ray Williams that Knicks team could have been really nice in the early 80s. Toby Knight did very well for himself in his career and life after basketball. His interview on The Bill Cartwright show was very interesting.

"Number 43---Toby Knight" When the announcer says this, I remember how elated i was back then. Great memories. Thanks for the upload. I even made a self printed jersey of that iconic number 43.
