Well the engines on the first few where methanol engines so they would have forged internals (pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft) to handle the power, they where also supercharged so a supercharger. With 2500+ horsepower the transmission would have things like a billet torque converter, stronger gears and a manual valve body. The suspension is full custom with a three or four link front and rear one ton axles with chromoly gears and shafts, external trusses, heavyduty driveshafts so everything

These announcers are so full of crap! Ford DT466 diesel? Seriously? Pop-Off valve??? Are you trying to be serious? How about an intercooler boot let go and he lost all his boost, thus all the smoke. And why do "flagmen" and track officials at truck pulls act like the most cool and important people in the world? Some local hack gets to be a track official and they run around like they are directing planes off the deck of a carrier...waving flags and such.
Oh and foreign cars are way better then some metal boxes with engine on it thats why every1 buy them including rich american wich know that real car luxury and beauty mean Merc C class ML etc not stupid ass plastic caddilacs or semi like heavy hummer :|Open that damn eyes and don't brag something idiotic.If you can't that , i think the reason is obvious ...
