I was just a little kid when these shows were airing. When I saw that Capt. Marvel and Isis were going to be TOGETHER in the same show for a crossover, it blew my mind like nothing ever had before. For a ten year old in the mid 70's, THIS was MY "shared universe", foreshadowing what was to come from Marvel Films decades later...
In the 1970’s, my Saturday morning was not complete without the "Shazam/Isis Hour." I had a crush on JoAnna Cameron! She was “O Mighty Isis”! She recently had a stroke and passed away at the age of 70. "Secrets of Isis" was the first female superhero series on American television, preceding both “Wonder Woman” and “The Bionic Woman”. Thank you for being a fun part of my childhood. Plus, she drove a VW Thing on the show, which I thought was cool, too! “Oh Zephyr Winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly...”
Loved both series when I was a kid back in the 70's. I remember the first cross over which was a big deal back then. It was an episode on Shazam titled the "Odd Couple". Isis comes to aid Capt. Marvel for the first time, helping a young couple trapped in a raging forest fire. Isis puts out the fire by commanding it to rain. Capt. Marvel was so pleased to met her for the first time, that he asks her if she ever needs his assistance for anything, to get in touch with him. It also was the first time that Mentor actually spoke to the Elders face-face. They send him to speak to Andrea Thomas & he tells Andrea that he knows that she is really Isis & that his friend Capt. Marvel needs her help.
Wow, thanks for posting! This brings back so many happy childhood memories for me. Saturday morning on CBS! The kids think I'm nuts when I bring up"Oh mighty Isis" lol
Though Captain Marvel gets his powers from magic, he can't do magic spells to find Mentor, hence he asked Isis' pet bird to contact her and to come to him to help find Mentor beore they flew off together to find him and 2 girls who became missing. They're a good team.
They were supposed to use Isis in Legends of Tomorrow, but chickened out instead giving us a wind totem, too busy being PC and worrying about terrorists who had NOTHING to do with the original show! Who thinks they should bring Isis back with the Shazam Family?
@@ismaelmartinezflores1030 She discovered Black Adam, she is not Isis yet, you need a sequel either in Black Adam or Shazam where she discovers the amulet and becomes ISIS, if the writers do not do that, she is nothing more than a cheap stunt Easter Egg nod to the comics! If all they do is give her a wind totem like Legends of Tommorrow and CHICKEN out on calling her Isis, then Black Adam might as well be Black Sheep, let's hope Dwayne Johnson has enough rocks to push her to the front and honor the comic legacy instead of cowering in PC political correctness fear like they did in the pathetic Arrowverse and get the new management at HBO Discovery to GETTR DONE!
John Davey always looked like he had a 6ixer and a couple of cheeseburgers before putting on the Captain Marvel uniform. Jackson Bostwick was clearly THE CAPTAIN MARVEL.

Did the production crew of SHAZAM think of having other super-heroes from Fawcett Publications, the same comic book company that introduced Captain Marvel,to appear in some episodes of that series that used to be on CBS Saturday Mornings?
If there had been an episode of Shazam in which Captain Marvel arrives at a US Military Base to help, it would be interesting if the women there in their uniforms got to whistle at him for being good looking and for being a super-hero.
I watched the Shazam TV show when I was a kid in the 70s in Australia. Though I have no memory or recollection of Isis at all. I actually wonder if Isis was aired in Australia. She looks like a very interesting and engaging character. I did watch Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter in my younger years.
This gonna sound dumb. But as a kid watching this, I literally thought it was the longest day ever because they always wore the same clothes on this show!
As was already mentioned, I believe they did this to make more of a distinct difference between him and Superman as they've been compared on so many different levels. In this way, while it may seem silly, his personality is now different from Superman.
I was a child when Isis was on the tv. She & Wonder Woman & the Bionic Woman were pretty much it back then on tv. Batgirl did dainty girl kicks. I loved Catwoman but her henchmen did all the clobbering, which annoyed me.
@@scattysafari7742 agreed let's not forget Michelle fifers can't spell her last name lol but her catwoman or the 2 very strong female characters on willow movie which I am watching right now
@@scattysafari7742 The reason Batgirl did those ballerina kicks was because the producer wanted the character to be more lady like, as if fighting somehow made a woman less of a woman, but that was the thinking of some men. While not as bad, Bionic Woman suffered from some of this as it seemed the networks were restricted to making the shows less violent, which is why Jaime never threw a punch (Wonder Woman would do the same thing until the last season). It didn't seem to apply to the men as much, so go figure.
Shows like this were what I lived for on Saturday mornings in the 70s! Great time to be a kid!

How about Ultraman? That was a good one as well.

Magical portrayal of the Egyptian Goddess! The horned disk is accurate in her symbology as well.
Give me back this era of TV. Only 3 perhaps 4 channels on Saturday morning yet we loved it. Simpler times more fun. Now look what we have.... 😆
