SAOT CAPIZ 2022: KARANSA by the Municipalities of Dumalag and Sigma

Karansa is a dance with a rhythm that progresses from moderate to fast, performed by farmers and villagers dancers who are extremely happy and gay showing their contentment in life, and as part of their thanksgiving activities that apart from dancing, also involve singing, eating and drinking. With its fast rhythm, dancers would later be breathless and exhausted while however earning the cheers and resounding applause of its spectators.
This video was produced by the Provincial Government of Capiz through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office for the Saot Capiz: Capisnon Folk Dance Competition (Showcase Component) featuring the dances researched by Jose Balcena and Nydia Punsalan, as one of the activities lined-up for the Celebration of the Capiztahan 2022 - the 121st Founding Anniversary of the Civil Government of the Province of Capiz.
