Another fantastic crew to add to the history of Star Trek... or maybe the crew from The *Orville's sister ship. Erik has another amazing character - Alicia feels like she came off an actual show (rockin that look too) - Kate is her usual delightful self (I don't think you could get enough of her) - Mr Capodicasa is that person when you ask, "who could we add as a final member to make this team perfect" ... it's Matthew. Not sure what the young people are using to say cool, awesome, etc... but that's Skid... I could watch that dude all day. Gotta give Grant a behind the scenes shout-out as well. You can't go wrong with Glass Cannon. *(Give that show a few episodes... when it later distances itself from just being complete silly and gets its footing it's really good, especially season 2)
Skid honestly looked like he would piss his pants from laughing during the Ferengi therapy session. Brilliant stuff even if I'd do a more serious campaign myself. :D
Observation Lounge ?........is the meeting room if i remember right ...........................'Yellow Big Birdism' in Star Trek.....lol.......This is great and should be commissioned into Star Trek cannon and if this ends next week i'l be surprised the rate this crew is moving.......Definitely needs to be a glass cannon staple for the future , pardon the pun....lol
OMG loving this crew 🥰 Very fun episode. GCN pleeeeease run a longer Star Trek Adventures campaign - Its just awesome 🥰 Absolutely stellar play all of ya - Ty ty so much 🥰
My first thought was "damn that's a lot more work" but thinking about it the creation tools for something like a simple dungeon are actually pretty quick. "Computer add wooden door, age it inline with the others, add large door locking mechanism." Then move on to the next part.
Does Alicia annoy anyone else or am I completely alone here? I've seen several games she's played in and she always tries to take control or make the story about her character. Also, she doesn't listen to the other players. Kate literally just finished telling her that she left her home world because females are repressed 22:10 and the next thing Alicia asks is if she's ever been to Ferenginar. I don't mean to bash her or anything but GCN needs to know that when I see that Alicia is part of the cast, I seriously question whether or not I can make it through 3 episodes.
First I would do what Matt would do. I would be captain Kirk and enjoy 1960s space. Lol. Then I would use it to experience Led Zeppelin Tour. I would.also go back and experience 5-2-70 Grateful Dead with The new Riders of Purple Sage Featuring Jerry Garcia at Harper college. I would also relive the Bakers Dozen 13 nights of Phish at MSG in a row. Probably one of my favorite concert experiences. It wasn't cheap or easy. It wasn't all in a row every 4 shows they took a day off.
Is there any possible way to sign up for the giveaway outside of the live stream? Working nights is not conducive to live schedules. Everyone, great job!
I must admit I've also struggled with the 2d20 rules set. I know that I like it, but I sure do wish I were better at it. In my humble opinion, LUG Trek was best Trek RPG. Beautiful, elegant, modular.
Rule of Acquisition 30: Confidentiality equals profit. A true Ferengi would never enter into a therapy session because they don't believe in private conversations unless they get paid afterwards. In fact they don't believe in a confidential discussion that they have to pay for in the first place. Granted, this is Starfleet so there is no money changing hands but to a Ferengi even Federation credits are a concrete concept even though they are abstractions as far as the Federation is concerned. Then again there is always RoA 33: It never hurts to suck up to the boss. A Ferengi going in as a Starfleet Officer may rationalize that they'll get more out of their stay in The Federation if they cater to their idealism and forego the use of usual currency. A Ferengi who knows how The Federation works can find ways to make that beneficial to them upon early retirement. That would be playing the long game however and most Ferengi can't see past the next quarterly earnings report.
The only exception would be if they saw it as a service you normally have to pay for but is free as its on the Federations dime. I originally though that would be the angle for the character (women don't get trained on Ferengar so treat Star Fleet more like an apprenticeship). But I haven't quite put my finger fully on the characters motivations yet but its still early doors.
I would be Barkley... I would have a full on love affair with Dr. Beverly Crusher... I've loved her for years and still do. So... yea... I'm basically him.
Viewing this over a year later, it's a little painful watching players continue to misunderstand the rules of this game, which are clearly new to everyone. Skid: Give me a Daring and a Conn task (no difficulty level mentioned, btw) Alicia: [reading her scores aloud] an 11 and a 4... come on, baby... [rolls] I got a 9 and a 20, so I failed. STA player watching the show: that's a target of 15. you rolled a 9 for 1 success and a 20 for a complication that is never mentioned. Not being overly critical here -- I know everyone's just starting out with the rules, but it's still a little painful :) Oh, but the production is great. I'm starting to get a little invested during this 2nd Episode...
Robert Picardo impression was so good!
Tuned in for Star Trek and watched Galaxy Quest. 😆
Could be the Orville.
Win!
It could be either of those...but it is in fact Lower Decks.
Absolutely love that Kate is on so many shows. Love seeing her.
Skid does the best Robert Picardo impression! And I'm loving everybody!!
Alicia looks like Angelina Jolie on Hackers if she was cosplaying Spock... she's so committed though.
Skid as Emergency Medical Hologram = excellence
worth a whole campaign
Kate is a treasure and we need more of her!!!
HERE HERE
Agree 1000
Spot on Robert Picardo impersonation!
I never knew i wanted to see Alan Alda be a starship captain
Kate's therapy session just made me laugh hard enough that my chest hurts.
...They may have *actually* killed me.
"That's alliterative Sir!"
good choice of background music
Brand new watcher, tuned in and heard "Im a doctor, not a makeup artist" and we both went, thats...quite a good impression of him XD
Last post I promise. Lol. Troy should guest on the next episode as a red shirt. Lol
Kate is hysterical, almost a Tumsy vibe (RIP)
Skid as the EMH made my week.
Skid's Doctor hologram is dead on.
Alicia's Medusa impressions are on point. Impersonating painted decapitated mythical creatures is a strange skill to have, but there it is.
Another fantastic crew to add to the history of Star Trek... or maybe the crew from The *Orville's sister ship.

Absolutely love Kate in this!!
Kate's Ferengi therapy sessions at the end was so funny and accurate 😊🥳
Loving this so much! Since there's some big star trek fans in the GCP. There should be a permanent Trek show.
Omg Skid's EMH impression is spot-on!
this needs more than 3 eps!
Absolutely superb crew for this starship
This is the most Star Trek I've ever seen.
I love watching these characters come to life. Especially Kate, awesome RP!
Electric Forest!! What a great festival.
I just found an emergency medical hologram figure buried amongst my kids toys, no idea where he came from but I'm proud of my boys.
This was so fun! I smiled the whole time I listened.
Maybe they'll spend all of ep3 RPing the production of Our Town.
We can only hope
This was such fun to watch . . . both times around!
34:48 Should have called for a Helm (Control + Conn, Difficulty 0) check so the group could start banking some Momentum to the group pool.
32:01 Dr. Marvin Monroe is on board a Starfleet vessel.
YAAAASSSSSSS!!!!! I LOVE NGWD

Thank you!
Awesome shout-out to Shield of Tomorrow!
Nice
One of the best bits from Lower Decks is pulling 'cleaning the holodeck biofilters' duty
If I had a holodeck, I would use it for all my rpg GM work. It would draw my maps and remember my NPCs, and it would be awesome
My first thought was "damn that's a lot more work" but thinking about it the creation tools for something like a simple dungeon are actually pretty quick. "Computer add wooden door, age it inline with the others, add large door locking mechanism." Then move on to the next part.
Uniform requirements or not, in space I wear catsuits!
This is fantastic
Love Erik’s uniform!
That Fred character is really something. I don't have time for episode 3 right now, but I wonder if the gang will get out of this alive?
Greaaat sesh
Wait, Kate's a Raver? :)
PLUR Kate. I see you.
GCP meetup at the next electric forest YAS PLS

Romulans do normally love them some shoulder pads! Also, didn't they go with the Intrepid-Clas Starship? Why did they show a Defiant-Class schematic?
Looks like they are cycling through the book art.
Ferenginar. The Ferengi homeworld is called Ferenginar.

1:46:22 Anyone else imagine Commander Oom wearing a monacle?
Is there any possible way to sign up for the giveaway outside of the live stream? Working nights is not conducive to live schedules. Everyone, great job!
This is like listening to an episode of Lower Decks.
He sounds just like the EMH from Star Trek.
I must admit I've also struggled with the 2d20 rules set. I know that I like it, but I sure do wish I were better at it.

I just got it. Dr Marvin Monroe.

Eric's character needs to canonically look like Gilbert Gottfried.
Star Trek Beyond had an accurate representation of the universal translator, at least at the beginning of the movie.
Kate is the best!
I don't know how it is in Starfleet but most places you have to be an MD before you can be a psychiatrist.
They spreate the fields
Didnt know Hawkeye was a starship captain. Just miss bj and trapper
Fear of Big Bird from Sesame Street?
call back to yesterday
By far Kates best character
You forgot the about the acid
Matthew is HR, right?
would join startrek just to playwith you

1:39 Just like the Borg.
When does Fred conduct the space anti-sexual harassment training?
