How these were treated by their previous owner/s is the most important aspect.
That’s totally wrong, you need to look at the exterior
Need an oil change every six months and regular servicing. FSH is a must and also check the mot history, I would walk away from cars that have had advisories on multiple occasions
@@al1356you have to be joking right? You know a car doesn’t need an MOT for 3 years don’t you from new so half of the stuff will be well hidden unless they opt out of it
RS3 is a hyper hatch, helped by the performance option that takes it over 400hp.
Yes it is and I've no idea how you can place this is in a top 10 list of the fastest depreciating cars. If anything it should be the opposite as it has been holding its value incredibly well!
@@christhomson474 It's because when they came out dealers were profiteering on them. They'd happily put you on a waiting list for a new list one whilst offering you a brand new, take it now at 000's above list.
Still looks boring
i feel the ttrs specially in manual will start to rise while the rs3 will drop
@@HomingjoeyjrI hope..so I can get one
Used car prices have started crashing. Down by 4.2% on average in October, which is the biggest drop since 2011. Better to wait till next year before you think of buying one of these as the prices are going to drop steeply.
High insurance premiums is accelerating depreciation on these top 10 hot hatches and generally across all car sectors!
RS3 is DEFINITELY a hyperhatch
Yaris was 36k new for circuit . I have one
Personally as a 140i owner, I’d go for that instead if it has been serviced according to schedule. Drove the new 135i and the interior is nice but the drive of the b58 is unmatched for the price
Lol here we go again, your cars a fossil mate 😂
@@fruitking6916 drive one and come back to me
@@fruitking6916 Are you always so rude?
@@dmode2793 I’m afraid so..
@@fruitking6916 Oh dear...
As hot hatches have always been about 0 - 60 I'd say that any hatch that can do 0 - 60 beneath 4 seconds is a hyper hatch. This is also reflective in the price. So only Merc and Audi fall into this category.
The GR yaris was nowhere near 44k new , in fact they were around 34-36k new depending on which model and colour you went for. I should know I've owned one from new. Apart from that error great video👍
He said taking into account inflation
@@jakegeng22 Luckily Toyota didn't increase prices with inflation. Still charged 33k with 0% finance for mine 6 weeks ago after waiting a few years for the order. All of the cars on the list are depreciating but mainly due to interest rates so it's not car specific. Just the market returning to normal. I'd be surprised if we see sub 20k GR Yaris in the next 3-4 years.
Think you don’t have much idea………my GRY was only £33k new with 0% finance, so at £30k it’s only depreciated £3k, by the way the circuit pack car has two lsds one on each axle.
Brilliant! I don't get why the reviewer inflates historic buying prices. Depreciation = Purchase Price minus Todays value.
With all the regulations and downsizing, those cars in 1 year would be unicorns and the value will go up definitely, not down.
Where did you get the cost of £44'000 for a new gr Yaris from ..when new was £34'000.
He's quoting inflation adjusted prices. So what the £34,000 price tag would be equivalent to in today's money
@@Hann651 the gr Yaris was first released in 2020 at £33'400 and was only on sale for 18 months, order books closed in July 2021. You can't order a new gr Yaris in 2023 only get a cancellation order because their was a 2 year waiting list.
@@Hann651But they are still 34k. I picked up my order 6 weeks ago. Toyota honoured the price and finance from when you ordered. Nobody adjusts for inflation to calculate depreciation.
Good luck waiting on the type r to go down on value 😂
I have a 2019 Golf Gti performance (last of the mk7.5 shape) do you think it will hold value better than the cars on this list?
Considering they've ruined the interior of the new one, I wouldn't be surprised if the 7.5 holds up well, personally. Only issue might be that they do so many special editions, although "special" since they're huge volume, so anything that isn't a Clubsport, TCR, whatever may struggle. Also, even though many (including me) would say you bought the better car, the GTi loses badge appeal to the R. I reckon that means it'll be more valuable in 10 years when people work that out and the R's performance is completely out of date, but short term it won't help you unfortunately.
Civic type r is one I respect the most as the only brand keep the tradition of having the car as manual only which means if you're not a real driver don't bother buying one.
Someone with knowledge finally...
the cupra's captivating, but the a45 s is simply next level in terms of performance
and price
i wanna know why US and canada got manual golfs r mk8 and UK didnt
Got a 68 plate rs3 in early 2020 paid 32 grand and it’s still worth around that today hold there money well … it’s a saloon though don’t know if the fastback holds as well
Crazy when I think there is a 115k euro rs3 saloon for sale near me in ireland 😂
@@shiugen676 €115k is bonkers !! Especially as the performance is the same and I think my 8v looks better with a nicer interior the new model is plasticity as f##k !!
@@shiugen676 EU is smaller market and people are not fools in USA cause there is greater competition. People in EU are getting ripped off cause of their own stupidity. Just don't buy overpriced garbage.
@@jammie588 8Y drives miles better than a 8V RS3
@@rsfez09 i agree I’ve drove a couple much less under steer but the base level Vw interior has put me off getting one … rs4 avant or a slightly older rs6 is next for me I think
Always great videos!👍 I've had cheap cars for about 3 years now, in a position to buy another 20k or so car but no idea what 😂
Amazing position to be in brother

@@I.cba.to.create.a.profile thanks man, I sold my pride and joy to have something cheaper while times were tough but hard work pays off and things are looking up! Thank you :)
A buy to let property in the North
@@danhall5761 planning to expand my portfolio for sure but also you've gotta enjoy your profits! Been a rubbish year for other investments too, gotta enjoy yourself sometime!👍
I think anything north of 350bhp and 40k is hyper hatch. I still think 250bhp and 25-30k is hot hatch 😂
Would like to see under 20k hot hatch video
Why are you adjusting for inflation? If you buy at £50k 3 years ago and it's worth £40k now, that is the depreciation over 3 years?
GR yaris depreciates? Where? The ones what I could find were more expensive than their original price.
Where's the subaru? Oh wait a minute 😅😅
I don't think the new type r will depreciate as bad as previous models only because it'll be the last proper type r
Wish these cars were easily accessible in the states
You don't talk about the plague of satefy and infotainment system issues of mk8 golf R?
Yep……many R owners jumping into M135i Xdrive
just sold my 135 and it had a few issues but infotainment wasnt one of them
May I ask what issues it had?
My 135 has a few issues, it’s done 37k miles it has moisture on the windows when you close them, seatbelt tensioner sometimes doesn’t work and the gearbox seems a bit retarded occasionally, what problems did yours have, mines registered in december 2020 btw
It’s becoming very risky to buy certain new cars, increase in price and finance costs can see potential buyers in negative equity 🤔
Civic Type Rs actually went up in value here. Not sure about "fast depreciation".
"Same video again at under £20k" - considering the title, just wait a year and do this exact video again since these will all be under £20k 😄 Actually could be interesting to revisit some of these depreciation videos a year or 2 later to see if the trend continued. £20k video has to have the 308 GTi in it, but reliability notes have to include "definitely won't have been looked after!" which seems sadly true. As of today though, mine nearly drives straight! Just need non-awful tyres and a gearbox oil change apparently now.
The New Type R retook the FWD 'Ring record thanks to being *definitely not modified, honestly guv* 🤣 Same as the FK8 one. I'd love it if those times have oversight. I just ignore anything which isn't the same driver/track now. Can't solve conditions, but it's good enough.
Hyper vs hot...marketing. I guess it can mean AWD and
I'd rather get a GTI or a Focus RS brand new, as the difference between a low mileage good used one and a new one is 7k. You might say it's a lot of money...but I'd rather pay this and have warranty than to put more in the car because of some idiot that changed the oil every 20.000 Km's and thrashed it all over the place(and at the end also messed with the odometer). Thanks, but no thanks. I wouldn't buy a hot hatch second hand unless I know the previous owner.
Not in the States 😢
RS3 👌 like golf r's but far too common now
So not really saving much then... Overpriced when new also
Did you not read the title?
Why don’t you come back and do it when the depreciation has levelled out ? Because all cars depreciate that would be a better marker of value
Why id get a second hand car that is several years old compared to brand new. Save loads of money
Bmw oil leak and oil shortage for no reason that should be on number 10
number 10 hasn't depreciated???
Is the premise of this video “don’t buy any of these yet because wait a couple years and they will be much cheaper”?
The ford St looks very dated now
M140i bro
How is the 2019 m140i not in this video???!?!?!? Best engine BY A LONGSHOT, best performance to value for money, goes like a freight train, but you chose too put up the horrid new m135i that narely anyone likes. If you watch these videos you clearly DO NOT know cars at all.
mk8 is garbage... impressive drivetrain, shite interior and infotainment. mk7/7.5 peak golf
I own MK8 GTI , it is more advanced and once you get used to the infotainment system it becomes easy . Do still like the exterior of the MK7.5 Face lift GTI performance / TCR / R and 7 GTI CS but MK 7 /7.5 interior is out dated now when comparing to the MK8 and soon 8.5 with upgraded infotainment system and bigger screen .
@3:32 286mph?!?! 🙉🙈🙊
Sorry..you speach to fast..i dont understand why?
Love these videos JB 🫡
so all of the main ones then 🤡
