This is amazing video...unfortunately, the fourth quarter is missing, and a video of Terry Gardner's game-winning TD has never been found...however, at the 25:35 mark we see 213 Bootleg Screen being executed, so people can at LEAST see what the play looked like...
@@jimstinchcomb772 No, the movie version shows Reggie Oliver scrambling and avoiding tacklers while providing a montage if the movie's major plot points...the actual play was a misdirection and simple throw to the other side of the field where Terry Gardner ran untouched...movie drama, you know ???...:>)...
Honestly incredible when you think about how old this footage is, and the fact that we get to see it. It’s only a shame the fourth quarter footage wasn’t found
@@flintcrossing I remember actually watching the game. WSAZ used to show the Marshall games on a tape delay on the Sunday following the games. It's kind of mind boggling that no one thought to preserve that footage (or if they did that it was lost).

So the play in the movie was just like the actual play in the game

Beautiful screen. Slipped in perfect
incredible footage, thank you for this.
as a side note, these two teams had some incredible punters for 1971.

We are still on the look out and hope someday we might be able to find it.
Man, I wish the film hadn't run out and we had the end of the game here =(
Thank you for this.... Brazil
I came to see that last touchdown as it happened in real life ... I was denied the moment
GlimmerOfLight I wish we had the 4
Th quarter film. So far it’s been lost. These were the only ones found from the Xavier side.
