Jai The Guy Pretty much every Kirby villain is friend with Kirby Dedede and Meta Knight are more just friends-friendly rivals now Marx seems to be friendly as long as he gets fed Dark Matter is technically friends with kirby considering Gooey is hinted to be part of Dark Matter Dark Meta Knight is friendly for some reason Magolor was forgiven and is now a friend Taranza became friendly after he was freed from Sectonia’s control Susie is friendly with Kirby (even though she’s still mechanizing planets) The jambastion cult is friends after the Star Allies DLC Even Void Termina could be considered a friend if the theory that the unlockable Kirb skin is a reincarnation of Void Termina Every other villain was killed Moral of the story, submit to Kirb or die
There’s are plenty of Kirby villains who were never his friend such as Queen Sectonia and Haltman. Another thing is that justbecause Gooey is a part of Dark Matter that broke away doesn’t make Dark Matter Kirby’s Friend. Not to mention we don’t even know for sure which Dream Friends coming back is actually cannon or not. For example, Dark Meta Knight being a Dream Friend is probably more of giving a nod to Kirby & The Amazing Mirror rather then him being Kirby’s Ally.
"And spend the rest of his summer sailing the mediterranean" Sounds good until you check back on him few years down the line and suddenly theres a Gerudo Roman Empire
Okay. I'd actually be pretty excited to see a Zelda where Ganondorf just noped out to a new continent, ruled it for a couple decades and made a totalitarian warstate and just tossed the whole thing at Hyrule.
nooo you know what would be incredible? to have the professor be the one to awaken the legendary pokemon and be the final boss controlling the legendary :0
I think having "The Koopalings" as a single boss instead of each one being a unique boss would be interesting. They would still be represented but wouldn't take up all the slots.
Oh man, I just had the best idea- what if, when you reach their arena, they all come up in a shared Clown Car and attack you two at a time at random? Creating insane combo moves depending on who hops in- I mean it'll never happen but it'd be *awesome.*
I'd rather have a game where all of the koopalings are fought, but where other more original bosses we're fought as well. I enjoy fighting the koopalings so I would mind them being fought separately. But I want other bosses as well.
While not really villian/fighting related would be freaking cool if they did a Paper Mario game instead the main character is Bowser and the Koopalings and Jr are your partners, gives them even more representation to their personality and how they would help

And as you know this happens in many Metroid games you're expecting it ant it is part of the game, Ridley is no longer just Samus arche enemy, it's ours! And we love him, don't we?

Give me a game with a Pokemon itself is the villain. Kind of like the first Pokemon movie. No trainers, just one really Disturbed Pokemon and his army of monsters.
It wouldn’t be as bad if the teams didn’t get more and more pathetic and ridiculous in recent games. Team Skull was a joke, and now the new team is just a stupid fan club of one of your rivals. Why would anyone want to battle a obsessive fans? They need to either come up with better teams with villainous motivations that at least partially make sense or just get rid of them completely.
Arlo: the dark character trope should be stopped before it spread to every Nintendo character. Super Smash Bros Ultimate: a tad too late cookie monster.
Kyle Campbell It would be inaccurate to call them “clones” as characters like Dark Pit and Dark Samus ARE different characters from their respective protagonists if you actually do research about them.
You sold me on that last one. You covered all of my concerns. Also, I know this was just an excuse to have pictures of Nintendo villains enjoying retirement!

@@bulborb8756 I'd say the Dark Matter forces are the main Kirby villain, though that is more of just a concept that makes up the villains, namely: Void, Zero, 0², and Miracle Matter (and Dark Nebula?)
If you think about it, Kirby is the villain, he is the one committing mass murder of waddle doos and dees, attracting villains from all over the galaxy and starting huge ass problems. Meanwhile King Dedede is just trying to protect his citizens from this magenta menace.
BleuVII or a Zelda game where Link and Zelda are adults, but the new incarnation of Ganon is a literal child who has no idea what sort of dark power is trying to stake a claim on him...
How I Coped With Killing Someone’s Parents: The Life of a Space Pirate By Ridley Scott, Author of “Human Casseroles and Fried Pichu: The Ultimate Space Pirate Cookbook”
I can't see ganon going away literally ever, but I would really like to see him taking off more games. Make it feel special when the king of evil returns
And maybe not be the main villain sometimes. Like, if it came down to him versus Majora, he would probably find himself having to team up with Link to wipe out the common threat. Can't rule the world if some living moon destroys it!
@@BJGvideos Would also be cool and clever if they used the trope of Ganon being the main villain to their advantage. Make you think he's the big bad for like 30-50% of the game only to throw you on your head and have some bigger bad be behind it all, controlling or forcing Ganon to fight.
It used to be that way! Up until WW he only appeared every other game. (Oracles he appears only in linked game, and the villains before that are pretty memorable in their own right) then it got into this annoying pattern of all console games featuring Ganon and the stupid sword, handheld games doing something different and fresh. Don’t get me wrong I love all zelda games and want Ganon to return sometimes but yeah.. it needs to be just now and then
His personality was great. Funny, menacing, yet at times, he cared deeply for his son or for other people. Bowser’s Inside Story really showed how great of a guy Bowser is.
Gotta thank bowser for saving the world from princess peach, smithy, Fawful, Dark Bowser, The Shadow Queen (sort of), Count Bleck, Dimentio, And the most deadly villain of them all: Toad.
That could make for a very interesting game. Make him an anti hero protag and put the triforce of power in the player's hand, wielded against Demise himself, in an epic struggle against a twisted altered destiny
I actually thought about this, what if they made a story where Ganon grew up with link and zelda. As Ganon grew older he realized he was turning evil and fled to protect zelda and link and at the end of the game they separate Ganon and malice and the three of them fight together to take down malice once and for all. Just an idea.
The reason how they could split Ganon and malice is that since he grew up with link and zelda he grew a good heart, but it is in conflict with his true nature. At the end of the game link splits malice from Ganon by using the master sword. Or better Ganon could also pick up the sword and cause him to split just like how link split from his wolf shape. I've been taking a lot of thought into this.
Star Fox 64 is one of my favorite games but I'd love it if Nintendo actually continued the story on switch. (Although I haven't delved much into Adventures/Assault/Command)
I love the Koopalings, but I can definitely get in board with shelving them somewhat (though they actually were in retirement for years, and have only come back more recently). I actually would still like to see them in a full 3D Mario though. Why not just use them as mid-world bosses though? They're always set up to have 1-3 different styles with a little bit of flourish anyway. Replace Boom Boom and the like with the Koopalings, then have really big unique set piece bosses at the end of each world.
Honestly, I just hope the Mario & Luigi series is okay. That was where the Koopalings were at their best, particularly in the remakes. They had fleshed out personalities and motives, and the interactions between them, Kamek, and Bowser Jr. in Bowser Jr.'s Journey were really good.
That is honestly a perfect idea. Best of both worlds! They'd be a lot more unique than a Boom Boom battle in each world anyway. That's not to say Boom Boom should go. Honestly I'd like to see them as Chargin' Chuck like "greater enemies". Which I suppose is sort of how Boom Boom is treated in Mario Maker. I'd also like to see them get a lot more original with Bowser fights. Seeing him get huge is pretty stale at this point, but early Mario games had some really varied encounters. Just ditch the drawbridge idea altogether and give him contraptions like in SMW or new fighting styles like in SMB3 or I guess SM64.
@@sak4933 I personally feel either Boom Boom should be one out of a plethora of mini-bosses, or he should just go. I'm sick of fighting him over and over again in the same game.
They definitely should’ve done that for 3D World. I personally (and this may shock you) ADORE the NSMB series, so I would’ve liked for the Koopalings to be the mid boss of each world... so many 8-directional posibilites could’ve been added to this wonderful game...
That could actually be a pretty interesting story hook; Samus finds his offspring and has to decide whether to spare them like the last metroid, or kill the buggers.
@@masonjones7777 OMG YES ! All game long they hype this character, Fox fear him and I was a bit scared by hype to finally fight him. Then this thing happened... God damn it. Andross, we blasted ur very brain into nothingness... Wtf man
At the very least give him a more complex character. Wolf is so close to having a really interesting morally gray anti-hero character but it sucks that Nintendo hasn't done anything with it.
@@tomhill3248 Yeah, but Bowser isn't just "evil". Multiple games and lore from Paper Mario, Yoshi's Island, and even the RPGs and main games have shown that he's not some malicious tyrant hellbent on destruction. Yes, he has done evil things, but lore also says he's one of seven Star Children as well as one of four of the Light Prognosticus. He, as a baby, was stolen and raised by an evil Kamek/Magikoopa, and as a baby he also had a very hard time with choosing to save Mario and Luigi as adults in Partners in Time and really considered it, albeit he did eventually decide against it only to have his hand forced later on.
Me and my friend would play GX all the time and I would pick the Black Captain Falcon skin and do my worst Skeletor impression ever while absolutely crushing him. "YOU'LL NEVER CATCH MY BLAAAACK FAAALCON! NYEEEEH HEHEHEHEEHEEEE!" Shit was hilarious.
Actually Eggman retired at the end of Sonic Adventure 2, because there was a time where it was going to be the last Sonic Game. Then Sonic Heroes happened once Sonic found his footing on Nintendo's systems & Eggman decided to come out of retirement after the events of that game.
@@bryanautumn8899 Actually, most think it's just an nightmare realm created by King boo (much like he did in Luigi's Mansion 2). He's essentially creating what Luigi fears most. When you're on the roof earlier in the game (Luigi's mansion 1) there is no dead Bowser there.
@@MrMindCloud No, the toad's and egadd straight up say that Mario killed bowser in Mario 64. It's why they are confused when he is mentioned. The one in the game can still be a creation of King Boo's power, but it doesn't change the fact that he's just straight up dead in that game.
There’s a certain subsection of Zelda fans who want Ganon to have a redemption arc of some sort, to team up with the other two and face a possibly greater evil.... I wouldn’t be opposed to good guy Ganon :)
Reversal: 5 Characters that should come out of retirement. * Midna * King K. Rool * Majora's Mask * Daisy (she hasn't been in a mainline Mario title since the 90s) * The entire cast from Kid Icarus (Uprising was a brilliant idea w/poor execution. the game needs traditional controls)
K.rool is such a perfect villain for dk and there is a very high chance he will return to the dk series thanks to his smash revival. Hes also super adaptable, you could do so many cool boss fights with him. The other dk villains always just felt like one offs. Some good, some... Less good..
Majora's story was perfect in the original game. Great villain but I don't see much of a point in bringing it back, especially because it's existence was exclusive to Termina
I'd argue that there isn't a better control scheme for Kid Icarus Uprising, but that's just me I guess. And while we're talking about Wario, how about Wario Land?
I feel like Ganon should be like a backstory to the next zelda. like Ganon create some sort of monster to destroy the land and he escape.... kinda like the Sonic series with Eggman and how eggman just creates other things to do his work for him. i know BoTW kinda did that, but the main purpose was to still beat ganon. if they did a two part 1) destroy the monster, then 2nd game be "find ganon and kill him" i think it would be sorta interesting.
I mean, isn't that the idea of his character? From what I can tell, he's meant to be someone who got too big for his metaphorical britches, tampered with power beyond his understanding and was subsequently transformed by it.
I agree. Add some more depth to him. I don't like his eyeball shadow form but as a smart, clever wizard I'm all for. Hell make him even for once not be the sidekick villian make him the one that even puts ganondorf in his place.Something. also I'd like them to revisit the minish world and I'm truly hoping though doubting that we see minish in BotW 2.
You could have him in a game where he appears for a good chunk of it in eyeball form (let's face it, that in 3D would be a nightmare) and his plan involved tampering with even more unstable powers to get his humanoid shape back, which he does at some point. Best of both worlds.
He is evil. He makes too much money from our blood, sweat, and tears. We had to sacrifice our fruit and remain hungry just so we can pay off the mortgage. He is sadistic.
I'd love a game which is a Phoenix-Wright-style legal battle against him in which he gets sued into the ground for extorting money out of people to pay off deals they never agreed to (even if you tell him not to build a house for you, he does so anyway, then says you owe him. That can't be legal).
arlo: we should retire ganon as a villain, we've already explored all versions of him my mind, tainted by the internet: so what you're saying is.....you want good guy rehydrated ganon
Honestly yeah, I’m fascinated by the concept of Ganondorf being a more complex character, like what if he (or other characters) resisted destiny? What would happen? That would be very cool
Metroid is one of my favorite series and Ridley is one of my favorite villains, and I ABSOLUTELY agree he appears too much and needs to retire. At this point he's getting the same issue of the Daleks from Dr. Who. Every time he shows up, the hero has to beat him. -and after you've beaten a "terrifying threat" twelve times, it stops being terrifying. A character that appears all the time is one who eventually becomes a joke or a chore to defeat.
Ridley should definitely not continue to be present much in the timeline after Fusion, but for the remainder of the Prime series and any other games they plunk down prior to Fusion he's kind of an essential element of the Space Pirate army that should be present.
Metroid is set in space which should provide plenty of opportunities for Samus to encounter enemies other than Ridley & the Space Pirates. Same for Star Fox, why is every game set in the Lylat System? What Arlo said about seeing Larry and knowing what comes next applies to Star Fox too, as soon as you see Corneria you know it's going to be the same handful of planets again. Even BotW suffered from this, yes the new Hyrule was wonderful, but 90% of the mystery of seeing Death Mountain off in the distance is gone as soon as you see it because every Zelda fan already knows what is there: a Goron village at the top. On top of retiring some villains IMO they need to at least temporarily retire some of the settings too. Just like how Ridley ceases to be scary after a dozen times, Hyrule doesn't surprise very much anymore after having playing half a dozen games that use that setting. After BotW2 I really want to see them set the game in a new location.
Daleks have ways of reinventing themselves to keep interesting such as with that civil war between them over whether Davros should still lead them. Or when they were wiped from existence during the 9th & 10th Doctor Era with the exception of a few survivors? Doctor Who only maybe uses the daleks on average once per season & that's fine. Yes we have Dalek basically used as insert basic enemy here in the series where they aren't all that important every now & then, although that's because of how iconic they are. The Weeping Angels currently rival The Daleks in popularity & the moment they appeared in the recent Spinoff Series "Class" everyone suddenly wanted to see more of it. Daleks are the big nostalgia villain that's trying to reinvent itself for newer audiences, while Weeping Angels are the extremely popular new villain that everyone loves basically. Cybermen are fun although they just don't have the same charm that the Daleks have. Ridley is iconic, & has more reason to always appear than Bowser, Ganon, or Eggman have.
@@jme6036 Yeah, weird low poly Andross is. Even in Star Fox 64, there's two different versions of Andross. Maybe in Smash Ultimate you could fight robot Andross.
I feel like ultimate could have used more bosses in general. I’d be down for any: Dr. Coyle, Hades, Zanza, Medeus, Giygas. I know it won’t happen, but if they added some bonus areas for bosses in WoL and updated some classic mode final battles in the future, that’d be awesome
@@jme6036 Not THAT Andross. The monkey head with two hands. I have plenty of ideas of how he can be a boss... But I would have to talk with Sakurai about that, and I don't speak Japanese, so... I'm doomed there.
6:45 - That’s actually arguable. Ridley’s title is the “Cunning God of Death”, and coming back from the very brink is his main schtick. He has contingency upon contingency, from his ability to eat and assimilate flesh, to being reconstructed as a cyborg to being cloned and remade to even creating a robot in his image (this one was killed before it was completed, however). Ridley is the Cunning God of Death both for his ability to cause it and for his ability to avoid it. EDIT: aaaand so I watched ten more seconds and he acknowledged my points.
I'm honestly cool with getting a new Zelda villain, but I feel like they couldn't completely remove Ganon as a character. I would LOVE to see a game in which Zelda, Link, and Ganon have to team up and use the whole Triforce to defeat and even bigger enemy.
Yeah, besides I feel we haven't really seen Ganondorf/Ganon since Twilight Princess. Calamity Ganon to me seemed to be a different beast altogether, and Ganon from A Link Between Worlds was more of a plot device than anything else. But I agree! I honestly had a... weird idea of Adventure of Link style of game where you play as all three characters.
Maybe since reincarnation seems to be a theme in Zelda (but not always since, for example, the Hero of Time doesn't reincarnate as the Hero of Twilight, but rather continues to exist separately as his ghost mentor in Twilight Princess), they could pull a Soma Cruz and have Ganondorf reincarnate as an ally to the new Link and Zelda who becomes the hero he was always meant to be? :3
Koopalings are some of my favorite recurring characters but I think they need more development if they come back. They often forget to add to them. The RPGs did great with them and still had other bosses too
Here's the thing with Ridley. He really isn't the type to stop doing his thing. He's not going to leave a job unfinished, and dying won't stop him. He isn't ever going to stop until he ends the one life he failed to stop. There might be a way to kill him, but that won't stop the Cunning God of Death itself. It's not in his character.
Imagine an incarnation of Ridley where it's his skeleton and he has an aura of sorts and that's his spirit. That way it could be a spoopy undead type of Ridley.
Ridley can't be the god of death becuase he isn't even the ultimate villain of the franchise. That would be mother brain. Ridley is merely Samus' nemesis.
I mean he kinda got possessed by the X-Parasite, then defeated by Samus and absorbed, so any trace of him is kind of gone. And the Space Pirates have been annihilated in Super Metroid, so they won't get a chance to recreate a kind of Meta Ridley either. There's a chance that we get a descendant of Ridley or member of the same species, but I'm fairly certain that Ridley himself is either gone for good or will make his appearance one final time via some deus ex machina to give Samus the chance to finish him once and for all. We do still have the Prime games tho where Ridley is still around.
Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater. They could always have Baby Bowser but not use him as the main villain or otherwise give him different roles besides being turned into a giant or having a giant robot.
I agree that some should permanently retire, like Andros and the Dark versions of characters, but the Koopalings I think still have potential, Ridley could just appear less often, and Ganon is just to iconic
he can go for one game i'd like a majora's mask sequel explaining the fierce diety and is still as dark as the og.. doesn't seem like it's gonna happen though because nintendo hates mm for some reason..
Well that is pretty dumb since its part of the lore that ganon is the reincarnation of a demon and king of evil and possesses the triforce of power. (Who tf is supposed to replace him? Vaati? Lel) He is bound to perpetually continue trying to destroy the other 2 holders, take their triforce thirds, and consume the world. Thats like a castlevania without dracula. I would get the idea if he were always the main villain but he isnt and their have been several main villains that weren't ganon in a zelda title.
@@xxSKAGhosTxx they can not have gannon for A game, or maybe make another zant-ish, girahim-ish villian, while still having Ganon Or maybe they can bring a reincarnation that is closer in aspect to demise, as in "ganon did something last time that ensured he would reincarnate stronger" or something and that causes him to resemble more to demise that to himself, because I would like to fight *demise* again, with the balck sword and the fire... and the other stuff...
@@matiaspereyra9392 i dont get what you are saying that is different from what i said, other than to bring back ganon in another form. Its been done countless times already and if you are worried that will stop i guess you havent seen botw 2 trailers. The video was about retiring ganon completely; which im saying is an absurd notion by a casual, cookie cutter ripoff muppet of cookie monster. He talks like all you ever go against is ganon, and acts like there should be replacement for the "king of evil".. that would be hard to do because if anyone came to challenge ganon, the audience would not side with this new character and it would take away from the lore of the triforce. Why not just retire and replace link and zelda as well?
He's also ignoring the fact that Nintendo wrote up fully fleshed out personalities and life goals for the Koopalings all the way back in the 1980's. And that's not even counting all of the comics, manga, television shows and promotional material that irrefutably displays the fact that the Koopalings are among the greatest characters ever to come out of the Mario franchise. The fact that they're being misused lately is Nintendo's fault, not the characters themselves. Also fuck Bowser Jr. and fuck Nintendo for downgrading the Koopalings from being Bowser's children to being his minions. Easily one of the most detrimental decisions they've ever made.
arlo's admited on twitter to not playing any of the 3ds mario and luigi games. Yet he acted surprised and sadened when alpha dream shut down.... Kinda gives me the impression he doesnt actually care much for the series and was only trying to save face
For the Koopalings, if they return, I would love if they made every world (or at least a few of their levels) themed about them. Like Lemmy's world is in a crazy circus while Iggy's world is in a fearsome factory, that would be pretty cool imo! And so they could even have their own bosses, like maybe the mid-boss is their normal selves while the boss of the world is a powerful villain controlled around by the koopaling in question. Like Ludwig could control a giant piano for example! But I guess Color Splash will be the farthest we'll go in that idea...
I was excited when Arlo told me to have a "bad" day, I was about to commit some major villainy there. But then he laid on the pressure and now I have to have the best day ever.
I'd rather have the Koopalings taking up half the Mariokart roster than more baby/metal/fursuit/dark variant characters. Agree on all the others, though.
@@doodle8386 I mean, it's still an interesting concept regardless of thirsty fans (hastily shoves fanart of sexy Ganon under the table, while fake coughing >_>;)
Going off of that, if Ganondorf's tie to Demise could be severed (as in they're separate entities, and Demise gives up on him), that could be an opportunity for a non-evil Ganondorf. (Think Garmadon from Ninjago.) He could even help fight against the next iteration of Demise. I'm honestly all for this idea.
You should make a video on Nintendo villains that need to come OUT of retirement, for example, K. Rool, he hasn't been in a DK game for a loooooooong time
I always hated the “Demise is responsible for Ganondorf” twist on canon. Ganon is Zelda’s very own Sauron, I don’t need or want Nintendo adding a Morgoth to his backstory to make him seem small time by comparison. There’s only one true King of Evil and there always will be.
SA-X was disappointing. I love the concept, but she/it doesn’t appear enough to intrude your progress and appear as a greater threat. I really wanted her to ACTIVELY travel the space station hunting you down in real time, like Tyrant in Resident Evil 2.
@@popplio7891 you mean RE2 remake's Mr. X right? Because the original one behave a lot like the SAX: only appeared in a handful of rooms and would dissapear when you reached the exit util its next scripted encounter. SAX was never scary, it only had one mandatory chase scene and it was very brief the rest of them were optional and easily avoided by literally just waiting out of sight until it left the room. Despite that it had a pretty good boss fight
Xfusion Agreed, and I do wish it was a more active threat like Mr. X was in the remake. Considering the tease at the end of Samus Returns, maybe that wish will come true.
that aspect is disappointing as well but I still hold up the SA-X as the best Metroid villain because once you dig into the series and the text and subtext of all of the games the SA-X stands out as the most thought out one. It's a better dark Samus than Dark Samus was, being the personification of Samus' self-doubt of the value of her existence when she realizes that she's the deadliest being in the universe and, well, kind of a monster. At this point in time she's personally eradicated the deadliest non-sapient species in existence, defeated the most dangerous killers of her time, and blown up a planet. The villains in the rest of the Metroid series are great to fight against and some offer interesting details but none really matter to the story more than being a spooky big bad.
It's a lot more powerful in context. i really wish people would stop using footage from the Final boss fight in Prime 2, there are plenty of other dark samus moments to choose from
I'd actually like to see the Koopalings get expanded on more. Feature them in a variety of roles instead of seven of the same role, don't necessarily use them all, flesh out their personalities a bit more, have them interact and clash with each other more, etc. As it stands they're very flat, and that's partly due to their numbers. Seven is a lot to write for when all you're looking for is to fill boss fights.
Think that's about as likely to happen as Capcom actually letting us play as Sparda from Devil May Cry. Sad to say: but I do believe it won't happen and we simply must hope that the next Star Fox game does something new and fresh. Like Star Fox Assault did. I rather enjoyed the story, I'm not even ashamed to admit it.
I feel that Wario needs some time to shine again. He was bigger, funnier, and more menacing. And Waluigi is long overdue to have SOMETHING. Donkey Kong needs a little something too.
@@krim7 Wario was actually planned to be the antagonist of Donkey Kong Country. The plot was that Wario turned Mario into stone and Donkey Kong had to save him. If that plan went through we would have never gotten King K. Rool.
@@krim7 Apparently, that was planned for one of the Donkey Kong games. I don't know which, as I only know this from a video I didn't watch, but if it was for the original DKC, I can imagine Rare didn't want to just use an already existing chatacter, especially given how different the game's world is from the rest of the Mario universe.
You know, it always makes me think that since Wario is in the same world as Mario... why aren't the Warioware cast appearing in some sort of Mario game. I would also want a Ashley dedicated game, especially when I saw a mod of Windwaker replacing Toon Link with Ashley and looking pretty awesome, and made me want a 3D Ashley Game.
I’ve thought of that too but with Demise’s curse, i don’t know if we’d ever see the day. That would be interesting to see, like taking place in a whole different timeline/universe.
It all depends on what the connection between Ganon and Demise is. If Demise chose Ganondorf as his vessel to channel his ambition for his people for evil, then if Ganondorf fails enough times, maybe Demise can tire of it, and choose a new vessel. That would mean that if Ganon is revived after that, maybe we'd see him without that corrupting influence. But if Calamity Ganon is the cursed spirit of Ganondorf that can't truly die because of Demise, then like was touched on above, maybe BotW2 could have Link and Zelda find a way to sever that tie, and put his soul to rest for good. Long story short, I'm all for this concept.
i really respect how you believe some villains should retire because their story is complete. These villains are impactful and it's because of this impact that they deserve an ending. Closure means something, it means the villains's story is over and it makes the hero's triumph that much more impactful. These is a saying about how a flower is beautiful because it's temporary. Nothing lasts forever and it would be a deserves to not just the villain but the hero, the world, and the story to constantly bring back the villain by more and more exaggerated, convenient, and unrealistic means. I feel like movies and tv shows have this problem as well with the worst example being Palaptine's return in Episode 9 (thus erasing all the symbolism and achievement of this death at the hands of Vader). Let us remember the villains and what they achieved but let us also remember how they were defeated and how the universe moved one. We will never forget about villains whos' stories have ended. Those times may be over and the villain will be is dead but those _memories_ will never be forgotten! :-)
Didn't they say at some point in BotW that he somehow gave up his ability to reincarnate in order to become Calamity Ganon? I don't remember when that happened but I remember something to that effect.
theshaggiest that was a translation error in the Japanese version it’s stated that the Ultra Beast form was the result Ganon REFUSING to give up on reincarnation
13:31 When’s someone gonna take this line, add Sans’ face over Arlo’s, and play that snippet of Megalovania? because that is really the joke I thought he was goin’ for.
Andross, Ganon, and Koopalings: totally agree Ridley: He needs one more game to be the actual final boss, not meta Ridley, not mecha Ridley, just plain Ridley Dark characters: absolutely agree, though I think we need one more, that being Dark Ness, if only for the terrible pun
I'll go on an even further limb. Have dark ness be a personification of all the trauma ness had to go through in the game. Maybe have ness literally eject dark ness from his head when it becomes too much to bear.
@@dapperblookanimations226 Jesus, the writing on the mother series is considerably better than that. That is of course, if we pretended it hadn't concluded over a decade ago.
Well in the traditional definition there’s only been 2 dark characters this decade: Dark Pit and Shadow Mewtwo. The former was intended to be a parody of the trope according to Sakurai. While the ladder has only appeared in a non canon fighting game. I don’t count the puppet fighters in Smash Ultimate because the story never treats them as actual characters. They’re only extensions of Galeem and Dharkon’s Power.
That's what I was thinking. I mean, we don't really know a lot about him before Demise pretty much took over. What if we find out that Gannon has been a hostage this entire time? Now *that* would be an interesting twist. lol. Still, that being said, I still kinda like Gannon even as a bad guy. I mean, he's almost an old friend at this point so, if they ever *do* stop having him be a bad guy, they'd almost have to be turned into an ally and brought back anyway. I mean, Bowser's cool, I like Bowser but, don't kill Gannon off completely!
I’ve always thought playing as younger “Ganon/dorf” in a world where the world sees you as the incarnation of Demise, with a scheming green-clad “hero” who plays the part to favor only himself, be a great twist. Instead of a story of being told you’re the world’s only hope from start to finish, you’re despised by the world, but still need to save it from itself. Plus, I’d love a good reason to insert aspects of Link’s douchebaggery from the old cartoon into this new villain-Link.
a big criminal of this issue is the yoshi games insisting on having a giant bowser fight. it was super cool and unseen before in the first yoshi's island game, yet none of the future entries came even close to matching that same feeling so i honestly don't know why they even bother going for the exact same thing again and again the kirby series and the newest donkey kong games are nintendo titles that i feel like are really good when it comes to introducing new villains for their entries. letting certain baddies take a rest always makes it SO satisfying whenever they return.

Kinda upsetting that Ganondorf is still literally dripping with malice, but hey, it could always be a symptom of suffering
That could make for a very interesting game. Make him an anti hero protag and put the triforce of power in the player's hand, wielded against Demise himself, in an epic struggle against a twisted altered destiny
Or perhaps a threat so great, it takes all three of Link, Zelda, & Ganondorf to challenge it.

Boom-Boom can be used alongside them tho.

When it comes to Ganon, you can have different villains, but you can’t retire him for good, ever.
I would love to see a human version of Vaati come back. That would be flipping awesome. I never really cared for his floating eyeball form though lol

Maybe he could become the "Vegeta" of the series. Not a fully terrible idea.
Guillermo Biasini you mean an antihero?
Plot twist Gannon, Link amd Zelda have to team up to face a force stronger than the Triforce
Daleks have to appear due to a contract
Andross should have been a boss in Smash Ultimate.
He’s already an assist trophy.
@@jme6036 Yeah, weird low poly Andross is. Even in Star Fox 64, there's two different versions of Andross. Maybe in Smash Ultimate you could fight robot Andross.
JoCyanide Sounds cool.

Or maybe have him be a side villain instead of the main villain.
Even then, Ganondorf didn't get a huge amount of focus in Twilight Princess iirc.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 Isn't Ganondorf basically Sigma in TP?

@@florhrojas Did you just say SPOOPY??????!!!!!!!!!!
Also Ridley is kinda so frickin skinny it feels like he's ALREADY a skeleton.

I liked koopa kid a whole lot better with the whole mini me approach
I agree that some should permanently retire, like Andros and the Dark versions of characters, but the Koopalings I think still have potential, Ridley could just appear less often, and Ganon is just to iconic

@@xxSKAGhosTxx they can not have gannon for A game, or maybe make another zant-ish, girahim-ish villian, while still having Ganon

He talks like all you ever go against is ganon, and acts like there should be replacement for the "king of evil".. that would be hard to do because if anyone came to challenge ganon, the audience would not side with this new character and it would take away from the lore of the triforce. 4:57 “And in the first history of Mario, they were turned into full on characters”
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam: Am I a joke to you?
Kyle Campbell Well, has he played Super Star Saga and the DS ones?
Yes. Paper Jam is an absolute joke to me in every single way.
"Lets go make some people mad"
-Arlo 2019
For the Koopalings, if they return, I would love if they made every world (or at least a few of their levels) themed about them.
Like Lemmy's world is in a crazy circus while Iggy's world is in a fearsome factory, that would be pretty cool imo!
And so they could even have their own bosses, like maybe the mid-boss is their normal selves while the boss of the world is a powerful villain controlled around by the koopaling in question. Like Ludwig could control a giant piano for example!
But I guess Color Splash will be the farthest we'll go in that idea...
The thought of Ridley trying to use a typewriter really amuses me
with the glasses sitting at the edge of his nose, and a cigar in his hand while typing.
I was excited when Arlo told me to have a "bad" day, I was about to commit some major villainy there. But then he laid on the pressure and now I have to have the best day ever.
For you. Go be the villain you've always wanted to be. Revel in the chaos you create!
Im getting tired of giant evil dragons in Fire Emblem.

I'd rather have the Koopalings taking up half the Mariokart roster than more baby/metal/fursuit/dark variant characters. Agree on all the others, though.
I agree but I am tired of them taking up all the boss slots
Plus, future games can have you fight multiple Koopalings at once to allow new bosses to take the spotlight in between (I think Paper Jam did this)
I would rather have the rpg characters taking up that space.
I just want more personality.
Would love a reincarnation of Ganondorf that rejects his evil nature and sides with good. Would make for an interesting story.

I doubt that's even a possibility, Ganondorf is canonically Demise's Curse taken form, he's always going to be evil
@@infiniteedge4427 isn't that true for Ganon though, since he's existed without a human form before?
You should make a video on Nintendo villains that need to come OUT of retirement, for example, K. Rool, he hasn't been in a DK game for a loooooooong time
I love how you give the villains sweet, wholesome endings even though they're, ya know, villains.
The "Dark Versions" Trope will never go away.
The whole concept of a Dopelganger is old as time, it's been used in every form of media and story form
I always hated the “Demise is responsible for Ganondorf” twist on canon. Ganon is Zelda’s very own Sauron, I don’t need or want Nintendo adding a Morgoth to his backstory to make him seem small time by comparison. There’s only one true King of Evil and there always will be.
In my mind it really isn't "demise is responsible for" but more of "demise became Ganondorf"
Just my two cents.
"He's certainly the best villain in the Metroid universe."
*the SA-X would like to know your location*
SA-X was disappointing. I love the concept, but she/it doesn’t appear enough to intrude your progress and appear as a greater threat. I really wanted her to ACTIVELY travel the space station hunting you down in real time, like Tyrant in Resident Evil 2.
Ifrit101 To be fair, when you’re a kid playing that game, the SA- X is stalking you constantly, and you never know when it will show up
@@popplio7891 you mean RE2 remake's Mr.
8:36 Did Samus and Dark Samus just do the Spider-Man pointing meme?
It's a lot more powerful in context. i really wish people would stop using footage from the Final boss fight in Prime 2, there are plenty of other dark samus moments to choose from
I'd actually like to see the Koopalings get expanded on more. Feature them in a variety of roles instead of seven of the same role, don't necessarily use them all, flesh out their personalities a bit more, have them interact and clash with each other more, etc. As it stands they're very flat, and that's partly due to their numbers. Seven is a lot to write for when all you're looking for is to fill boss fights.
"They're all dark. Ah, they're all dark. Every single one is dark. Ah jeez!"

We could then get backstory on what Wolf had to do with it and some more info on his vague "history" with James
They should move the story forward with Wolf being the main antagonist.
Think that's about as likely to happen as Capcom actually letting us play as Sparda from Devil May Cry. Sad to say: but I do believe it won't happen and we simply must hope that the next Star Fox game does something new and fresh. Like Star Fox Assault did. I feel that Wario needs some time to shine again. He was bigger, funnier, and more menacing. And Waluigi is long overdue to have SOMETHING. Donkey Kong needs a little something too.
Imagine a donkey kong game where Wario is the enemy!
@@TheMGMfan I think that's exactly why they decided to go with the Kremlings and have them steal the banana hoard.
Here’s an idea. Ganon actually becomes a protagonist for a change :)
I’ve thought of that too but with Demise’s curse, i don’t know if we’d ever see the day. That would be interesting to see, like taking place in a whole different timeline/universe.
Botw2 should be about gannondolf's spirit joining forces with link to rid himself of demise's curse so he can finally die.
Long story short, I'm all for this concept.
i wish nintendo could be that creative
Bowser: I never die!
Mario: Oh mamma Mia, here we go again😒
i really respect how you believe some villains should retire because their story is complete.
Problem with removing Ganon is that he canonically comes back every hundred years or so...
Didn't they say at some point in BotW that he somehow gave up his ability to reincarnate in order to become Calamity Ganon? I don't remember when that happened but I remember something to that effect.

Andross, Ganon, and Koopalings: totally agree
Ridley: He needs one more game to be the actual final boss, not meta Ridley, not mecha Ridley, just plain Ridley
Dark characters: absolutely agree, though I think we need one more, that being Dark Ness, if only for the terrible pun

I want a good ganondorf, I think it would be an I retesting spin on him.
A heroic Ganondorf (or an anti-hero Ganondorf that teams up with Link) would be AMAZING! I love Ganondorf as a character and it would be so cool!
Wind Waker Ganondorf was the good guy. He was trying to restore the world. The king of red lions was like, nah let's flood it more.
Plus, I’d love a good reason to insert aspects of Link’s douchebaggery from the old cartoon into this new villain-Link.
he not good he want to restoe the orl to rule over it if he was good he wont have try to kill link in end and if he was good the king wootns otp him
Although Ganon is the prime Zelda boss, it can feel quite feel similar to each of the games.
They gave us SEVEN Kooplings in Mario Kart 8 but not Diddy Kong or Professor E. Gadd.
That's criminal!
Less offended about the koopalings and more about Metal Mario and gold peach.
kamek's absence still pisses me off.
a big criminal of this issue is the yoshi games insisting on having a giant bowser fight. it was super cool and unseen before in the first yoshi's island game, yet none of the future entries came even close to matching that same feeling so i honestly don't know why they even bother going for the exact same thing again and again
the kirby series and the newest donkey kong games are nintendo titles that i feel like are really good when it comes to introducing new villains for their entries. letting certain baddies take a rest always makes it SO satisfying whenever they return.
