Throughout ‘85 to ‘90 OLTL averaged at 3rd place of all the soaps. I watched it, constantly checked Digest on it, rooted for it to be #1 which honestly it already was #1 in my eyes. What I can’t understand, is given everything that was going on on that show in comparison to other shows at the time: Viki/Niki, Tina’s parentage, Mitch’s religious cult, the Sanders vs. Buchanans, Viki goes to Heaven, Tina goes down the Iguazu Falls, Clint time travels, Eterna, the Daisy Awards, that the show wasn’t #1 more often. And don’t get me wrong. They were plenty of memorable side stories as well, that were compelling as well.
I watch this, knowing where a lot of the plot is going and sometimes wonder why they went in the direction they did. Rob being so upset would resonate a bit more for me if he talked about his mom Laurel who the show also killed off. Or play him with his step dad Larry.
They really should have kept Lee, Tom, and Mari Lynn around. They were good secondary characters to the Lords/Buchanans. It was also a mistake to get rid of Melinda, Ed Hall and the Sanders family.
The background cue music on all the soaps kills me , but OLTL is special. It was very memorable & added to scenes. The Rauch/ Gotileb/ Bedsow-Horgan years are extra special , but all the years I watched were good.
34:39 is that the first time the gabby theme has played for Gabby ? I notice it has played for everybody but eventually it became hers and max... guessing they were working out themes. I would love to get a hold of those scores
George, Maria's bro is much worst than Maria. At least, aside from raising sweet, smart Cord, she did have some redeeming qualities. But George is so sleezy....he reminds me of a snake slithering around Happy Horse Ranch.
Wow I got a little teary with Clint riding that horse at 33:00!!!

Also how much did the writer’s strike play into having Mari Lynn shoot Lee? Tom disappearing?
Here we go. Livin in the wild, Wild West.

Music from ‘85 to ‘90 was on point. Bold and Beautiful and Young and the Restless had great music too.
@@erikandrus4387I call the Young & the Restless score from my occasional viewings as well.
