Really cute and fun cards. You have some great tips on how to have things ready. You can't say enough that it doesn't have to be perfect. I need to hear it constantly. Thank you for yet another real crafting with great results video.
Thank you, Lindsay for another great tip on how to use up our scraps! I was finding my piles of strips of paper were driving me crazy, but didn't want to just put them in recycling! After all, I hoarded them for so long and even organized them by colour and everything - lol. Am busy die-cutting sentiments, butterflies, flowers and "guy" themed dies like tools and cogs. Thank you for the inspiration. You truly rock!
I love your tip - go for the first one that works. I’m so guilty of wasting time looking for perfect and getting so frustrated in the process. Beautiful cards! Thanks Lindsay!
I spend hours or even days sometimes looking for the perfect paper, the perfect colors, the perfect die, etc., etc., until I'm half sick and don't even want to make anything anymore. I love your philosophy and want to try to live it more.
Thank you Lindsay I love these. I've lacked motivation lately and my mental health has been a bit off but when I saw yr video I felt a spark of enthusiasm 😊so I'm off to prep my scraps thanks for inspiring me 💖
Every single new card maker should see this video!!! When you mentioned this the other day I was so hoping you made a video. Great tips here Lindsay and I love the cards!
These tend to be my favorite videos, where you just use what you have and layer things together - and the result is beautiful, creative, and interesting! Thanks for all the tips and techniques!
I didn't send out cards this year, but I did make about 55 for church. I did collage style and the word love that is a scan n cut pattern. Your cards are cute!!!! I chuckled when you talked about die cutting. I rarely color an image, but I LOVE die cutting!!!! Lindsay you are awesome!!! I have never met you face to face, but you are an AMAZING human being. I hope you enjoyed Valentine's day
You are right, we do seem to put too much pressure on ourselves. My cards always seem to take a long time to do and there are times I don't feel like making them because of that. Cards should be FUN to do, not stressful!! haha Thanks Lindsay, love your cards! 🙂
I enjoyed watching your video and the helpful suggestions you had. Because the majority of my craft supplies are in storage I had to use what I had on hand to make Valentine cards. I had so much fun creating each unique card because I didn't have any pressure to produce the "perfect" card.
I remember that background video, but I had forgotten ripping scraps. I did make some backgrounds (alcohol inks, gel prints and random blobs of color) and of course still have them somewhere deep deep in THE ROOM. Your cardmaking videos are always fun. I have been having fun watching some of your old videos. And, just got to say: I still love your endless supply of yellow foam squares!!
Great video. Gave me some neat ideas to make cards and how to pre plan. Thanks. I hate die cutting to but I love having the dies to cut things out. TFS
I think I have an advantage being blind; I know I can't make things look perfect because of the way I see, so I don't stress. (Like most blind people I have some sight, it's just not reliable or precise) While the cards have pretty colors, my eyes lose the details and I just see a bunch of colors. This is one of those times I wish I saw "normally" so I could enjoy them more. But, God made me the way He wants me, so I'm perfect in His eyes. And the world would be boring if we were all the same! 😊 Thanks for another wonderful video. I always get ideas from your videos. 💖
Hi Lindsay! Great tips. I am SO glad I cut up all my card stock into card size, it is the BEST time saver! I keep telling myself I need to cut out die cuts ahead of time to have on hand. But I've yet to do it. And, I love the torn strips of paper you used for backgrounds! I definitely need to do that. TFS! 💕💕💕
I agree about cutting card stock ahead. Die cutting is a penance, ha ha. Find a time when you can multi-task: I pull out the die cut machine and cut dies while listening to HAM radio.
Love these cards and your advice about no stress for perfection. So true that we try and why! I've stamp upside down, spelling incorrect etc.. I have made others giggle from my mistakes. C'est la vie..
Great tips - the one about good enough is good enough and you don’t need perfect you mentioned a few months ago and that’s really helped me. I could waste hours trying to find the “right” flower or sentiment, etc when I had a dozen that were good enough.
I love seeing someone with an approach to crafting that’s similar to mine! I am determined to find a way to use every little thing I have, the process helps fuel my creativity. Even throwing out tiny little paper scraps pains me… although I do draw the line there and throw it out anyway lol. Other than that, I love using everything and not stockpiling too much.
I love the look of the torn paper backgrounds! I already have diecuts and punch outs in plastic boxes, and I'm working on more sentiments and/or single words. I have a place where I buy cardstock by the pound and I have them cut it to A2 size. I also can cut some of those on my little guillotine in layering sizes. To date, I've only done single colors, so trying your torn paper backgrounds will be fun! I also make plain labels using stamps, and I buy ticket rolls with blank spaces to add stamped words/pictures (faux TH). TFS!
Thanks Lindsay. Wow. Those foam squares are still going? Are you sure they aren't related to tribbles and breeding in their storage space 🤔. The potters pink mix swatches made beautiful dimensional cut outs.💜
Talk about perfect timing! I just made a bunch of cards. I’m trying to use up my stash and not buy anything. But I don’t have diecuts/cutter, and everything was just looking very ‘blah’. I totally forgot about my buttons and wire! 😅 And my glitter gel pens and washi tape will be perfect substitutes for glittery ribbon. Thanks for the inspiration! 😁💕
Hi B1rdLaddee, I am using up as much of my stash as I can this year too. I have a series on my channel called #nodiesnoproblem. I make all kinds of focal “die cut” looks without dies. I just wanted to share with you. Happy Crafting!
I am such a perfectionist that it can feel like a curse but I have learned that it's okay to let things look perfectly imperfect because the love shines through! Great tips and lovely cards, Lindsay!!
"Supplies: All the stuff you have been hoarding" -- HAAAAHAHAHA!! Love it! I've been using that mantra "go with the first thing that works" for a while now because, if not, I overthink everything and waste time looking instead of making. Love the video! ETA: You need gel nail polish! It won't come off as easily. If it does, then try hard gel over your natural nails (it's like acrylic but it self levels, and doesn't dry until you put it under the UV lamp), and then use gel nail polish.
I don’t have any supplies for card making but the price of cards has me thinking this is a good idea 👍, thanks a lot Lindsay , your cards look great ❤️❤️❤️
That is how it begins... Ha ha ha. Buy a few supplies and have fun. My first cards were made decades ago using Presentation Task Force images and a dot matrix printer when I could not afford to buy a card for $1.25. The $300.00 cards (Linda, your husband is hilarious and right) I handmake now are so much more fun to create.
Love these so much, Lindsay! More than that, I love that you've stressed things don't have to be perfect!!! ❤️👏🏻🙌🏻 I giggled so over the yellow foam tape - too cute! Happy Valentine's day sweet girl! 🤗❤️😘
Gorgeous cards. I do not collage enough. A few months back I cut down a stack of 12x12 papers and sorted them by color family. It makes choosing paper so much easier. I love die cuts, too, and dislike die cutting so I will die cut various dies for an hour or two and add them to my perpetual stockpile. 😉
Hi Lindsey! I love these cards and your tips are on point. Thank you so much. This video is being shared in my FB group on using up your scraps. ("Scraps R Paper Too") Your card-making style has always been my favorite. 🤗💕
Love your card making! I will be glad to get back to card making!...My sister is 60 this month and I have been working on a journal! This journal incorporates my card making and drawing ! I have sketched and coloured the flowers that represent the month of February and I have also made her a bookmark added some photos and created mini birthday cards to add in pockets! I have also included a bucket list notelet within in a pocket! I just need to put it altogether now! This is the first journal I have put together and love it!
Love all your videos. A random note, I heard you in older videos saying glue sticks dry up. Some, especially good brands can be rescued by just dipping in water for couple days, shake off excess water 💧 and wipe the lid and top clean . Boom. Fixed.
I have all kinds of ephemera that I created from cut up watercolor paintings and swatches. I use them in my art journal pages since I'm not a card maker.
These are really cute. But yeah, I'm bummed that the Papercraft Society only made a certain amount of the kit you designed for them. I was really hoping I'd be able to get it sooner or later, cause I loved the dies and stamps, etc being useful in more than one project. Oh Pooh, double bummer 😞. I pray that you and your family are all doing well. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas P.S. obviously I didn't get to get your kit for my birthday.
Yeah ... but we don't all have the skill to be relaxed about it and yet make the lovely cards you do. Still, it is much more fun doing it that way, if you don't mind not always using what you've made!
So often, I don't send that card because I don't get out all the paper, parts, backgrounds, etc. So I procrastinate and it doesn't fly. You're absolutely right, why not just cut some card bases and make a little basket of stuff that's ready to go. Thanks for the inspiration. I need to find some envelopes for those 1/2 cardstock, folded cards. Did you call that A2 I think?
I had wrist surgery (non dominant hand)!& am going crazy not crafting. Hope next cast I can have fingers exposed. Can u do video of things to do as I mend that only requires one hand? I have Vagabond so will be able to cut basic shapes with scrapes. Such a good idea!! I have stamp platform so I’ll do some stamping. Any other great ideas? I need to keep my sanity!!
Loved watching. Is that th eez Runner Tape Dispenser you are using? Thank you as always for your wonderful and inspirational videos. Happy Valentine's Day! :D
Ah Lindsay, you are channeling my mantra right now: use it up. I love these - and the idea of making up "art parts" that are ready to go when you want to create instead of starting from scratch each time. P.S. Are you still using your original Big Shot? I bet you'd enjoy die cutting a little more with a machine with more pressure so you don't have to run things through multiple times. I finally got the big mama Spellbinders Platinum, then a month later somehow wound up with a friend's practically new Big Shot . Having machines with serious pressure has made all the difference
I'm with Lindsay on this, I have, I'm not going to count, ridiculously too many die-cutting machines, but guess which I use all the time - my first, the trusty Big Shot. It never fails, so I don't bother with the others, except for the rare occasion I need an A4 or 12 x 12 size, which is hardly ever :)
Great cards! I love how you used your swatch paper hearts they are perfect in this project.
Really cute and fun cards. You have some great tips on how to have things ready. You can't say enough that it doesn't have to be perfect. I need to hear it constantly. Thank you for yet another real crafting with great results video.

So creative! I am guilty of partially made cards while I wait for the perfect something. Your cards are fabulous! Thank you.
"Check perfectionism at the door". I LOVE that!!! Liked the video too! TYFS!
I spend hours or even days sometimes looking for the perfect paper, the perfect colors, the perfect die, etc., etc., until I'm half sick and don't even want to make anything anymore. I love your philosophy and want to try to live it more.

Thank you!
There are endless ways to create beautiful card art from scratch and Lindsay has the ability to make them shine👍❤️
Wow, so many great tips for mass-producing cards. It does inspire me to get into my stash and make some cards! Love it!
You got them in the mail on time...good job! That's where I usually go wrong
I love your cards and ideas for your Cantonese day cards. Thanks for the video. As always another great one.
Happy Valentines Day to the frugal family. Sweet cards. Thanks for the tips Lindsay. I'm slowly recovering from perfect card syndrome, lol. 🤣
I don’t do valentine cards, but I love looking at your lovely cards.
Happy Valentines Day! Great tips Lindsay! Thank you!
Thank you for adding joy to my day! Inspired!!!!
You’re always full of such crafty ideas. Watching you today from Ridgeway South Carolina
Really great tips. Your valentine cards are beautiful. Enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing.
Love your creativity! I love how you splattered with the turq paint! Happy Valentine's Day!
Great! I had to chuckle about the yellow foam squares!
Happy Valentines Day! I didnt even know it was Valentines day today until 8pm lol. Love your Vday Cards, so cute! Thanks for sharing, much love!
I only watch you to see those magical and "ever populating" yellow foam squares. Lol. Beautiful cards, love the pieced together backgrounds.
Lol when I use them up in retiring!
I didn't send out cards this year, but I did make about 55 for church. I did collage style and the word love that is a scan n cut pattern.

Awww, thank you:)
Ive had that wire FOREVER! Thanks for a kick in the tushie I needed. Brilliant
What is the gauge or make of the wire you used
You are right, we do seem to put too much pressure on ourselves. My cards always seem to take a long time to do and there are times I don't feel like making them because of that. Cards should be FUN to do, not stressful!! haha Thanks Lindsay, love your cards! 🙂

I am always so happy when you post a new video! The cards are cute! Happy Valentines Day!

Great idea to have things ready.. I am going to get a bunch of stuff ready to make a card whenever I need some.

Those little yellow foam squares are little rabbits in disguise, LoL. God bless. Becky B
Great tutorial. Thanks for all the inspiration Lindsay!
Absolutely great cards and lots of tips. Thank you.

So nice! Gives me lots of ideas for using my printed papers.
I love these cards!! Soooooo pretty!

Adorable cards Lindsay! Happy Galentine’s Day!

Analysis paralysis is bad for me. I just have to pick something and go! 😆
Love these cards! Yes I get too finicky with my cards, this inspired me to be more loose and creative. Thanks Lindsay!
Very nicely done!
Eclectic, original and absolutely beautiful!!! Janet 💕 Happy Valentine's Day! 💝💘💖
I don’t have any supplies for card making but the price of cards has me thinking this is a good idea 👍, thanks a lot Lindsay , your cards look great ❤️❤️❤️
Lisa, That $ 300.00 card can be so true! 😳🤣🤣

YES!! No fussy dies! Planning (making a bunch ahead of time) is a great idea - but choosing generic shapes can be overwhelming ...
Choose what you like to use!

Just found your videos they are great 😄
👍
Have fun with the stuff we have ❤️ this is the goal for the next few months!
Love this card ideas.
Making cards like this reminds me of how I made my dinner last night. Hmmm… what’s in the fridge? Pulled together a pizza.
So pretty! 🇬🇧🥰💓

I just have to comment, if you ever received a catalog selling irises in the mail one would see they come in ALL colors including coral! LOL
Do your yellow foam squares reproduce when you leave the craft room? They are so you lol.
They must!
Lindsay, I think I recognize your flower drawings here from Cricut design images. Am I right?
Nope. I drew the image from my reference photo and hade it made in a stamp.
They have huge rolls of foam squares at Dollar Tree for .$1.25.
