If Flores decides to sit back and play zone Goff will carve up his defense even worse as the Vikings don't have the personnel on the back end to make that work. I think Sam is right and they will try to rely on forcing a turnover or two as that almost worked last time. For the Lions they need their offense to carry their defense by holding onto the ball and limiting Minnesota's opportunities so if/when Darnold does make that turnover worthy play Goff can come out and make it the nail in the coffin. I like the Lions as I think their offensive efficiency forces their opponents to have to be too perfect on offense to win most of the time, but it should be a great back and forth game.

I want to know how your think that Goof and Ben Johnson handled the Vikes in any way shape or form in the first game this season. It was a 2 point win on a last second field goal. There was an 8 yard difference in total net yards for the 2 teams. Time of possession was basically 29 minutes to 31 minutes in favor of the Vikes. Big diffenence in the upcoming game is the Vikes have gotten healthier and well the Lions not so much.
Im a Lions fan, but I'm expecting the Vikings to take this one. I think they zig when we expect them to zag and that stalls our offense just enough for them to take an early lead and we trade scores afterwards. 38-35 sounds about right. ...but I'll be happy to be wrong!
@@oddmanout7755I am also a lions fan and I know we’re going to lose. Dan Campbell sometimes makes some head scratching decision. He’s going to cost us the game 😔
Lions defence is so bad that Campbell is too scared to punt, because he knows they can't stop anyone. A lot of differences from week 7. Vikes D - QB Cashman returns, emergence of Redmond and Turner, 10 new defensive FAs now have 15 games together Vikes offence - Hockenson back from IR, return of Akers, Addison healthy after missing last 4 weeks of pre-season, and first 3 weeks. Lions D - down Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis, numerous D Line rotational players ups, possibly Anzalone (not 100%) and others Lions O - down Montgomery (not 100% if he does play). Remember Vikes D has conceded 2nd fewest rushing yards and rushing TDs - and Darnold's production is just good as high as Goff. I think Lions fans should be very, very nervous.
Those of us that actually WATCH the games beyond "QB THROW BALL" are, trust me. 😄 They gotta break our win streak against them eventually too. Getting any team 4 in a row is hard, let alone a good team.
Bro stop bringing up your injuries. It's embarrassing. You know you're talking about the team with THE most injuries in the NFC by far right? Yet they still got to 14-2. You guys better win this game! It would be embarrassing if you didn't, all this complaining you're doing. We know this game will be tough for us! "We DiDnT hAvE cAsHmAn LaSt TiMe!" So what we didn't have Hutchinson last time! Get over it! Lol
@@Tenchu_87 That's not complaining dude - that is just pointing out all the differences between this game and week 7 - because many Lions fans seem to be expecting it to be the same. Just giving you a heads up so that you're not too surprised. Yes, you didn't have Hutch then, and you won't this week either. The Vikes didn't have Cashman then, but they will this week. See the difference?? Yes, you're right it would be embarrassing to lose to a practice squad defence. It was last time, but the Vikes D was new then. They've played together a bit since, so they should be fine this time around.
The thing that makes me feel more comfortable with Detroit winning is that they are more comfortable manufacturing a +12 play drive for a touchdown. Especially late in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
Yeah the lions offense is the best in the NFL in my opinion but if the Vikings defense (who are good) get a few stops, I think the Vikings will win. It’ll be probably one of the best Sunday night, season closing games in a long time tho.
Minnesota better win this time because they subject to be hungover next week and get beat again and eliminated. Lions winning the Superbowl over Baltimore. They haven't showed anything yet. Two great teams in my book though.
Hilarious how they bring up the Lions success against the Flores scheme but dont mention Jefferson's ownership against the Lions in Detroit. Brother averages 180+ when in Detroit, and now they have no starting corners? Child please.
@ no shit dude, I’m just saying since the lions are favored and if the Vikings defense is good during short yardage situations then they have a good chance to win.
I’m asking cause I don’t know but are there really many qbs that don’t make a mistake once a game? Seems to me that if Darnold has a turnover a game and burrow has .5, it feels like we may overrate that sorta thing in one game. Particularly cause there are so many factors on both sides that go into that.
U lucky lions have 20 players hurt what u talking about healthy team for both of them lions are not weak if they healthy viking is a good team but to say we didn't have this when we lost we don't have half of team lol😊
I think if I were the Lions I would be worried about giving up 32.5 points per game over the last 4 games while the Vikings gave up 20.5 points per game over the same 4 games.
Last 4 Vikes games have been against arguably weaker offenses, excepting GB. I don't see Sam putting up an Allen-esque 48. Vikes will almost assuredly score 35, but Bates kicks a 56 yarder for 38-35 Lions dub
If the game goes over and gets into a shootout Detroit will win at home. If the Vikings defense can show up get a turnover or two and hold Detroit to 1 or 2 FG attempts the Vikings will win. The two bets should be Detroit/Over Parlay or Vikings/Under Parlay
I do not believe it will come to turnovers as we may be even there, i think the difference in the game will come down to whomever has less penalties and whether the Vikings can shut down the running game of the Lions. SKOL!!!m
Flores should absolutely blitz Goff, last time were late by 1/4 sec. with Cashman back they 'll get Goff 50% of the times. Sitting back or prevent D; Goff 'll carve up Flores and his scheme.
Biggest difference in the defense this time vs Goff vs last Blake cashman don’t believe me watch film then see that the Vikings are undefeated without him and how different the defense looks when he’s not in vs when he is
@ you allowed the bills to stop you from scoring twice in the game you lost at home and lost in a shootout out to baker at home now vikes at home make 3 in a row
18 weeks in its fair to say goff and darnold have put the ball in harms way. Darnolds had a 3 int game and goff has had a 5 int game.. any qb in the league can say theyve put the ball in harms way at week 18..
Folks still underestimate that the Lions continue to stop the run. Justin Jefferson has put up big numbers but as long as they don't give up 100 on the ground the Lions will win.
Flores is gonna have to go off script and not blitz. Save the blitz packages for the red zone. Against these lions receivers, there is not a secondary in the NFL that can cover all of them man to man and you open yourself up to getting burned with screen passes and draws. This is an important game for Brian Flores’ career moving forward. If he blitzes at the same 60% rate and still gives up north 400 yards and 30 points he opens himself up to getting criticized for the scheme. Should be some absolute fireworks in this game.
I think you 2 guys are missing a few key things in your breakdown of this game. Biggest thing I see is your take on the chances of qbs throwing ints. You kept saying you think there is a good chance Darnold will throw one that cost the Vikings. Maybe I am wrong here but I do believe over the last 7 games Sam has only thrown 2 and Goff has thrown 1. I would say they are both pretty good at not throwing ints at this point. I also believe that the Vikings D is leading the nfl in ints. Another thing you fail to mention that the Vikes have Cashman back along with TJ. Neither of them played in the first game this year.
I still don’t think these guys watch the lions games (just the highlights). The lions are a patient grind it out offense (if you are watching something other than the highlights you will see that). They aren’t the team that only goes for big plays…
This crowd is going to be the most rabid collection of football fans in history. Audibles for the Vikings will be impossible unless less they are using smoke signals. That said the Lions Defense can’t get pressure even with the blitz. They also have no way to cover Nailor, Jefferson, Addison and Hockenson. Even if you cover those guys you have Aaron Jones and CJ Ham out of the backfield. I think the crowd evens out what is a good matchup for the Vikings. If the Vikings can take an early lead and quiet the crowd down, I think they take it. Other than that, it’s up to which QB makes the critical mistake (which both have been known to do in big spots)
I’m sure Baldy thinks the Lions will win by 50. Guy has an axe against the Vikings. Maybe it’s because he’s picked against them every week and they’ve proved him wrong every time 😂
Sam isn’t turning the ball over. Bro has 18Tds and 2 picks in the last 7 games. And one of those picks was basically a punt. Vikings by 10 on Sunday nite! SKOL!
Last I checked he threw 19td and 2int after that game. People questioned how well he could bounce back from something like that game. The answer is a metaphoric lions roar.

Im a Lions fan, but I'm expecting the Vikings to take this one. I think they zig when we expect them to zag and that stalls our offense just enough for them to take an early lead and we trade scores afterwards. 38-35 sounds about right.
...but I'll be happy to be wrong!
Wow... Bad juju. Thanks for that.
@Tenchu_87 im trying to humble the Lions to a win. Keep out of my juju
As a Vikings fan I’m equal parts excited and terrified.
You are not a Lions fan.
Vikes D - QB Cashman returns, emergence of Redmond and Turner, 10 new defensive FAs now have 15 games together
Vikes offence - Hockenson back from IR, return of Akers, Addison healthy after missing last 4 weeks of pre-season, and first 3 weeks.
Lions D - down Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis, numerous D Line rotational players ups, possibly Anzalone (not 100%) and others
Lions O - down Montgomery (not 100% if he does play).
Lions playing at home gives them a advantage Detroit is becoming a very tough place to play that alone gives them a edge
@@Tenchu_87I’m a Vikings fan and I agree, it would be embarrassing if we lost to a team missing 20 players lol
So wat about Detroit corners??
Did this game lock the Coach of the Year for MCDC?
Vikings #1 in 4th down defense!!!
Campbell will lose this game for the lions. He will also destroy his chewing gum and his headset by the end of this game. LOL Vikings#1 SKOL..........
@@derrellbray Keep smokin that copium. :)
You guys should show your game pick statistics every week.
On what planet is a lions practice squad d making them the favorites?
The thing that makes me feel more comfortable with Detroit winning is that they are more comfortable manufacturing a +12 play drive for a touchdown. Especially late in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
I'm glad you feel comfortable. The Vikings are going to win.
Yeah the lions offense is the best in the NFL in my opinion but if the Vikings defense (who are good) get a few stops, I think the Vikings will win. It’ll be probably one of the best Sunday night, season closing games in a long time tho.
@@ryandaley3351 The Lions are the better team when healthy. That is football though, sometimes injuries ruin seasons.
@@ryandaley3351but they haven’t.
@@DavidBurke-b1bthe hurting lions are still better than the Vikings
30 lions 20 Vikings!!!
And in those games, he's 1-3. But with a lot of yards, if that makes you feel better.
Points win games, son
Last I checked, yards aren't points
Jefferson can go off for 300 receiving yards but it doesn’t matter if they don’t result in more points than Detroit lmao
How many yards did he get to go with that L?
If the Vikings defense is good in short yardage this game, the Vikings will win.
If the Lions score more points, they will win.
@ no shit dude, I’m just saying since the lions are favored and if the Vikings defense is good during short yardage situations then they have a good chance to win.
@redt7452 and I knew what you meant, I was being funny for myself. Most intense lead up to a game fans here have had all year. Gonna be close.
I’m asking cause I don’t know but are there really many qbs that don’t make a mistake once a game? Seems to me that if Darnold has a turnover a game and burrow has .5, it feels like we may overrate that sorta thing in one game. Particularly cause there are so many factors on both sides that go into that.
Goff didn't TORCH the Vikings, they won by 2 with a last second field goal.
Can’t wait ‘til Sunday night…

Vikings didnt have cashman when play Goff, it be different this time!!!!!
U lucky lions have 20 players hurt what u talking about healthy team for both of them lions are not weak if they healthy viking is a good team but to say we didn't have this when we lost we don't have half of team lol😊
We didn't have Hutchinson... So what?
@Tenchu_87 our middle was open, but now it be different woth cashman back
Missing a top player means nothing. Every team is missing a top player
Oh cry me a river! A BAD team can't survive with a few injuries 😂
I hereby declare thy bills paid!
I think if I were the Lions I would be worried about giving up 32.5 points per game over the last 4 games while the Vikings gave up 20.5 points per game over the same 4 games.
So who teams played dont matter. If lions played vikes schedule they would be 16-0. Who you want bucs and bills or giants and jets.
Last 4 Vikes games have been against arguably weaker offenses, excepting GB. I don't see Sam putting up an Allen-esque 48. Vikes will almost assuredly score 35, but Bates kicks a 56 yarder for 38-35 Lions dub
How much have the lions scored in those 4 games? Minnesota couldn't stop them b4
@dayealexda lions 30 or more. Vikes 29 or less. All 4 times.
@@niki3434 You do know other then a 3 games the schedule is pretty much the same right?
The Vikings haven't lost a single game when Cashman is on the field. That will continue Sunday. SKOL.
I say Flores will crank up the heat even more.
Even with the injuries the lions D is better than last year.
If the game goes over and gets into a shootout Detroit will win at home. If the Vikings defense can show up get a turnover or two and hold Detroit to 1 or 2 FG attempts the Vikings will win. The two bets should be Detroit/Over Parlay or Vikings/Under Parlay
The AFC is KC or Baltimore/Buffalo might knock them off. The NFC is the three North teams, Philly, and Rams it's wide open
Just here to pay the bills and to say Go Lions 🦁
Highly unlikely, but, what happens if they end in a tie?
If they tie Detroit gets the #1 seed.

Home field advantage in playoffs should go in order of record (not to Division winners) 🏈✌️
I do not believe it will come to turnovers as we may be even there, i think the difference in the game will come down to whomever has less penalties and whether the Vikings can shut down the running game of the Lions. SKOL!!!m
Lions fan here to help pay the bills! Vikings haven't shown me anything yet. Lions win 43-27
Flores should absolutely blitz Goff, last time were late by 1/4 sec. with Cashman back they 'll get Goff 50% of the times. Sitting back or prevent D; Goff 'll carve up Flores and his scheme.
Blitz 70 percent and gibbs will go off. 2 yard passes wilk be 20 yard gains or tds. Blitz 7 and jamo will score often.
Biggest difference in the defense this time vs Goff vs last Blake cashman don’t believe me watch film then see that the Vikings are undefeated without him and how different the defense looks when he’s not in vs when he is
VIKINGS haven't played lions that's why
@ bro shut up😂
@ you allowed the bills to stop you from scoring twice in the game you lost at home and lost in a shootout out to baker at home now vikes at home make 3 in a row
18 weeks in its fair to say goff and darnold have put the ball in harms way. Darnolds had a 3 int game and goff has had a 5 int game.. any qb in the league can say theyve put the ball in harms way at week 18..
Thanks Guys!
Good analysis. Two really good teams. It’ll be a hellofa game. Go Vikes!
Gd things for every team that most of our D is out!
Yeah I think it’ll be one of the best Sunday night, season closing games in a long time.
Lion fan also paying the bills. Welcome Viking fans who are also paying the bills. May the best team win 🥇
I still don’t think these guys watch the lions games (just the highlights). The lions are a patient grind it out offense (if you are watching something other than the highlights you will see that). They aren’t the team that only goes for big plays…
I feel like the Lions would like to grind it out to eat up clock

Why would they want that with their practice squad D?
Vikings would have a much easier time. Lions will have to make it a shootout

Jared Goff has been unbelievable since that 5 pick game against Houston
Last I checked he threw 19td and 2int after that game. People questioned how well he could bounce back from something like that game. The answer is a metaphoric lions roar.
@@harteman6363 20 TDs to 1 pick and leads the league in passer rating and yards in that span. goff not getting enough credit the whole offense has been great all year but Jared has really stepped up in wake of all the injuries
Don’t just say Goff within the system, why can’t we give him credit for changing as a player?
Lions fan just subbed to help pay the bills
Goff would gash them playing methodically
What boggles my mind is that I hear all of these teams crying because they lost a game because a 2 or 3 of their starters are out. The media excuses the losses because of that. The lions have more out than ANY OTHER team and yet still find out to win the majority of games. Yet, Campbell 8s no the clear coach of the year???? Explain this to me? NO OTHER COACH has done anything in comparison with these injuries! Ohhh...I developed a washed out qb so I deserve it...please!!!
Yes, and I still hear Lions fans touting their wins over the 2023 Vikes and Nick Mullens - so frankly I don't give a shit about the Lions papier mache D. Cry me a river.
Nah you are wrong on that. The 2022 vikings had 16 starters on ir. More than half the defense was on that list. All that year they were called frauds. Koc lost coach of the year race that year. Nobody cares if you have players injured. That is just an excuse.
@jessemontgomery8987 we have more than 16. And what was ur record???
@robe2504 mmmm 2024 win!
KOC is COY. The Lions were supposed to have a good team this year. I do believe they made it to the NFC championship last season. The Vikings were picked to win 6.5 games at the start of this season. COY is suppose to go to coaches that do more with less. Not for just not screwing up a team that was already good.
Caved to peer pressure and subscibed. Not nice Steve
