    I’m surprised how many people don’t realize what a amazingly priming system it is. Fast. And easy on the hands.

    outstanding video! i know you're just doing these sort of casually, but your step-by-step explanation and visual is by far the best instruction i've seen on how to do this!

      I appreciate you saying that! These videos do take up some time, so it’s nice to know they are helpful. I have more to come, some on some other subjects, just need some free time to make it happen. If your ever looking for a video on something specific let me know, I’ll do my best to make it happen. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the video I was wondering how to set that up and you explained it beautifully.
    Honestly It does seem a tad bit tedious, I was assuming i just set it up and it primes on its own instead of having to bring the mouth to the slot and press the button and make sure it doesn’t fall out and then have to prime it.
    Still better than nothing.

      It is a bit tedious in some ways, but the time saved from priming by hand is quite a lot. Especially when running a single stage press. Worth the money for sure, and as you use it it becomes muscle memory and the dropping doesn’t happen. Thanks for the watch, and the comment. Much appreciated.

    Good to see a demo of this priming system on a single stage. How’s it working out so far?

    • @earlyoist2523
      @earlyoist2523  4 года назад

      Working well. I need to secure my press to the bench a little tighter, but it definitely saves time by turning case mouth widening and priming into one step. Thanks for the comment.

      Rick Rickerson thanks for the subscribe. I’ll look at getting that video made for you. Also would like to know how that 50th anniversary safety prime goes for you. Thanks again.

      Was looking at this thing the other day. It’s a cool idea, but I feel like you’re still going through all the motions and time that you are by just grabbing the primer off the table and dropping it into the are. Will be interested in seeing some more demonstrations.

    • @TheWingnut58
      @TheWingnut58 3 года назад +2

      @@troycrum9294 It does SEEM that way in this and other demonstration videos, but I can promise you that it is MUCH faster once you get your system worked out.....you're also running the risk of contaminating the primers by handling them unless you use nitrile or similar gloves.

    The "round tray" version was the first and wasn't the one with problems.....there was a second version that looks just like the one you're using that had problems with primers in the feed tube between the tray and the feeder. The feed tube was a little soft and flexed out of shape too easily....
    Version 2 and version 3 look almost exactly alike but you can distinguish the two by the small "stiffening bumps" (for lack of a better term) along the feed tube on version 3...

      I have been using two of the round tray versions on a pair of Lee Classic Turret presses. After 10's of thousands of rounds over 10+ years, I can say both the primer systems and the LCT themselves have been remarkably solid and trouble free. Really wish they still sold these as I'd like to add a dedicated one to my Classic single stage .

    STILL NEED TO CLEAN THE PRIMER POCKET!!!

    • @randykirby2326

      I was thinking the same thing, In between the two steps, you need to clean the pocket.

    • @silenceismycanvas
      @silenceismycanvas Год назад +1

      @@randykirby2326 There is a lot missing here and even though its in a "nut shell" of how things are done it leaves too much out and when reloading, that can be bad. One example: Case inspection after resizing before priming. Is it split? If so, primer wasted. If you miss it, excessive pressure upon firing from case failure becomes possible. Newbies shouldn't make how to videos. Good luck to this guy.

      @@silenceismycanvas Just aquired that same setup and found this vid super-helpful...
      Perhaps you yourself, mr high & mighty, can upload a vid showing
      yourself using a reloading press for levering your own head up out
      of your own anus... That'll be a goodie won't it?

    I would do this at the bottom of expanding the case mouth set up my powder thrower above the die and re raise the ram to add powder

    i have several different priming systems ...the lee safety prime so far is the worst ...primers 98%of the time are either upside down or lopsided and I half to use my fingers to sort it out ..there are fixes you can do by boiling a piece of it in water with a 1/4th bolt etc ...if lee knows its shit why don't they fix it

    Good video. Vey informative. Question: Are you using case lube? It was a game-changer for my reloading.

    • @billy56081
      @billy56081 2 года назад

      On straight walled pistol cartridges with carbide dies lube is unnecessary.

    How many duds do you get? Touching your primers with your fingers will increase your chances of duds.

      Confed Vet yes, there is an SM marked on one and LG on other. The markings are near the push lever for setting the primer in the holder.
