I support your walk to abstinence surrounding alcohol pastor. Nothing good comes out of it, it is truly a counterfeit Spirit to the Holy Spirit. As a child of an alcoholic who died at 31, raised by a step father who drank a case of beer a night and married to a man who was an alcoholic too. Glory to God my step dad and husband are sober now, I don't drink at all either. I was very good at moderation but found that I was using it to bring me joy, laughter and to lighten me up. I told the lord he will need to be the one to help me to live a life filled with joy & laughter because I refuse to participate with the counterfeits anymore.

Many people i know drink alcohol to feel the effects, not just because it taste good. I am trying to reach out locally with many people suffering and lacking basic life needs, like houseless, and jobless people, and inviting them to different churches and bible studies, and the biggest common denominator, is alcohol. Also there is the spiritual aspect of using alcohol. Many of these people using alcohol are in bondage and trying to cover up past traumas and current hardships, and in doing so, they are opening spiritual doors for demonic spirits to dwell within them and feed off of them and that is why helping them with there daily needs is never going to cure them, only inviting the Holy Spirit into them through faith in Christ Jesus can do that. This should be our main focus while reaching out to those people suffering in bondage to alcohol, as well as all other mind altering, body destroying, man man and natural chemicals and substances. In the mighty and wonderful name of our Lord God King and Saviuor: Christ Jesus, we pray: Amen, Hallelujah, Peace, and Maranatha.

One more thing, what verse that will support that the name of the church is called RIVER VALLEY CHURCH like yours? What is official bible youve been personally using? What is the name of your Lord god in your bible? Prov.30:4

So your said that the Israelites watered down their wine like the Romans or Greeks before them? Then there is Isaiah 1:22? It was cursed to water down wine, especially if you were conducting a religious adherance such as Passover!!! I believe to the Jews, and Jesus that would have been an abomination. Why can't ministers preach temporance/moderation, on acceptable practices, which is biblical? Are we so tethered to Prohibition from the past that we still feel that full abstinance is the very best way that a human being can live. I know it is scary to talk about things that can be dangerous if they are used in inappropriate ways, but we really need to study the garden story, and you find there that God allowed for every choice that we could possible make...good and evil, and everything in between that was acceptable. Lets stop making rules for others that are based on our own conscience, or maybe our own pride!!! We are too hyper protective, its time to communicate the dangers of an activity, but also the benefits of moderation for that same activity. Without moderation even good activities can become bad.

I am non-religious but if I ever get married why should my American wife even cook for me? Besides women are, so FRESH that if you are a female, and not a CNA I won't even date you/her. CNA's can get paid to take care of me. (I am not speaking about male CNA's).
