This video is a little bit of a commercial for a local Samoan fertilizer. Usually volcanic soils are very rich, unless rainfall is so frequent that nutrients tend to wash away. For those who don't want to buy fertilizers, compost is essential, and cover crops are very very helpful. Also, gather up seaweed, wash off the salt, allow to dry, crush and apply directly, sparingly, or use in a compost pile. And take all the parts of fish, that might be thrown away, put in a container, add water and allow to ferment for a few months, drain off liquid and apply to the soil, or on to the plant (foliar feeding)
for nitrogen. Good gardening to all of you.
Thats what I thought. Im thinking of moving to Samoa and setting up a market garden to subsidise income, im no green thumb but im doing the research. I thought with volcanic thats fertile soil, so only need to do an effective compost. I appreciate your comments, its given me confidence.

the islands of Samoa are very rich in bananas and the bananas peel are very rich in potassium and very good in combat pests. the bananas peel should be fermented and mixed on the plantation soil special for the green bell peppers in combat root bugs.
This would be really good for the Solomon Islands too.

Thank you for the improvement but the old days back in the 1960s,70s Aleisa was already growing,coffee,cocoa,bananas,taros,yams etc.Useful n great improvements ,better solutions to combat diesease that kills crops n ruins the soil
