Quick tut on how to wire a rear camera to the back reverse light. All you need is some pliers or craft knife and some electrical tape. This was done on my Mazda 3.
Well done that was exactly what I wanted to know..also that its not necessary but worth doing..I just bought a Honda Hybrid CR-Z..and this is my first carcam so big thanks dude
Thanks mate. Just wanted to check if my new dash cam need to connect the red wire, but the stock reverse cam is fine so I can leave this as just part of the dash cam "recording set-up" for both front and rear. Great video by the way, cheers mate!
I just bought a 2023 mazda CX -30 there is no access panel to get to lights i was so glad you had Mazda 3, but it just doesn't crosd over (parfon the pun) to a CX-30.
What if you don’t hook up the red wire that’s it has and just plug the cable from the rear camera into front dash like you suppose to do anyway ? Thanks
@@ttvx901barbi It was not necessary to hook up the red wire because I didn’t want to use it as a back up camera I put a wire nut on the red and tucked it away safely and the rear back up camera worked fine recording to SD card
@@Rajarshideb1 Yes Also when you play back the SD card from the dash cam on a PC it will show you R for rear camera view F for front camera view when you view your recordings .
Mostly all black wires are (ground) or negative . Usually for the black wire can be comnect to the opposite of red wire . Or it can be connect to anything that touches your cars metal usually a screw anywhere near . So I don't confuse you all it needs to do is touch anything metal .
Straight to the point not like others who waste too much time talking
thanks pal had no idea what red wire was for ,just bought one today and fitted it
going dark so will do red wire another day
@@peterchapman3740
You done it yet..?
Thank you bro. Just avoided a 300$ installation fee for a 100 $ camera.

Thanks for the explanation, this is the only video I seen here.❤🎉

Does the red wire have to be connected to power the camera? Because my rear camera cable that leads to the front camera looks like a headphone jack.
@@PooFace2030
The headphone jack carries the power

Okay you found the right one for you, but which one is for me 😂😂😂u should mention is it positive or negative
Use a multimeter to work out polarity.
Thanks for this
Thnxs!
Why you didn’t connect it ??? 🙄🙄🙄🤔
😂I was expecting that part when I clicked on the video and he didn't do it
What if you don’t have the that particular access for the red wire
Does the red wire have to be connected to power the camera? Because my rear camera cable that leads to the front camera looks like a headphone jack.
well dont need that since i have a backup camera. was wondering what it was for
thanks dude
So all you did is, to wrap the cable of the camera around the cable of the reverse gear light?
Yes
Don't disconnect the battery
What if you don’t hook up the red wire that’s it has and just plug the cable from the rear camera into front dash like you suppose to do anyway ?
Thanks
how’d that work for you?

@@DR-xt9ux Does the rear camera record simultaneously with the front camera ?
@@Rajarshideb1
Yes
Also when you play back the SD card from the dash cam on a PC it will show you
R for rear camera view
F for front camera view when you view your recordings .
So you said it’s not necessary to hook this wire up? If you do not have this wire hooked up does that mean it will run continuously? Thanks
If you don't run the wire then it will just record regularly, but you won't have any features that come with reverse like parking assist.
where does the black wire go????
With lot of dash cam u only get a red wire and a power wire which runs from ur front camera all the way through b and c pillar to ur back cameta
Mostly all black wires are (ground) or negative . Usually for the black wire can be comnect to the opposite of red wire . Or it can be connect to anything that touches your cars metal usually a screw anywhere near . So I don't confuse you all it needs to do is touch anything metal .
Taped joints are dangerous .. get sine proper joiners. They are very cheap
The reverse light has two wires black and green.so which of thse two wires are the one to conect the red wire from the rear camera??
@kiyonexus thanks
My same question, where is the answer?
🙄
Yes he just said that he found the right one for him 😂😂😂 but which one + or - have to be 😂😂😂
