What a great tour that you created. I grew up in Sangklaburi as a little girl. The train only went as far as Kanchanaburi and the remaining trip took days by boat. The temples didn’t exist in my day. This was truly a treat for me to see. Thank you so much for sharing. My heart Is full!
When you pass that bridge and are photographed by tourists, you also become the local scenery, so interesting! "The Bridge on the River Kwai" is a good movie. The construction of the Thai-Myanmar Railway by British soldiers in Japanese prisoner-of-war camps is a real story. Because of that movie that the bridge became a famous attraction! The colorfulness of Thai temples is well known, and they look especially beautiful in your video! Your father was a great explorer, I admire his energy! Love you and your parents, thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏🙌
Awesome video! I really appreciate your sharing the history of each place with us. The temples were amazing! You were all very brave to go in those caves, and do all that climbing. Thank you for this marvelous video! Love from Vermont
Brilliant video! I went to Kananchabury on a three day tour out of Bangkok. I walked the bridge and at the end, said a little prayer for all those who perished in the construction of the Death Railway. There's a huge cemetery nearby with the prisoners of war. I was sad to see people taking selfies on that bridge and not being very aware or maybe not caring about the awful history behind it. As to the caves- I didn't get to see those, really fascinating but I would have run out at the first sign of a bat- they give me the creeps 😱 I stayed in a nearby raft house which was MY highlight of the trip! Unforgettable...
Another awesome day! Relaxed wanderings to find what is around the next bend in the road, contributing to the finish of the statue along with everyone else is a connection to these meditative places. A mix of so many things here, how life goes on.. thank you both always for sharing.
Hiya. Always informative. Seen videos of people walking on the bridge. But not riding the train across. Some of the track is crazy looking. Very sad the number of people that died. I love watching your content. Roll on 300K. Said for years your channel is so underrated. Those stairs were a workout. Amazing. To have the cave to yourself. Those caves went in deep. You and your dad were brave to go that far. And you to the viewpoint. Stairs. 😅I bet there are not many people. That was brave to go the way you went. You picked the perfect time to have some of these places to yourself. Great video. Gorgeous views. Perfect tunes. Thank you for sharing. See you next time. Have a wonderful week.
Yes, they were lucky to have visited there with few to no tourist. I remember my friend went to one of these caves with her sister. Her sister didn’t continue at the start of it but my friend continued without knowing what happened. Because of how humid and tight it was, she only thought of escaping the ordeal. There was no chance for her to go back to find out of her sister because it was packed with tourists. All she can do was advancing ‘till she reached the end and saw light outside.
Great presentation! I didn’t know that the famous bridge had become a tourist attraction. Eager now to visit that part of Thailand. Keep going, guys! Your travel videos are among the best on RUclips. Wondering what you’ll both do when you’ve decided you’ve had enough traveling! Consider doing a tour of Hawaii someday haha. Eager for you to compare the beaches here with Brazil and other places.
Your music while riding the train is perfect: i love it. thank you, . please never stop making your Travel Videos. nobody does it better than you & Carol.
It probably looked “dry” in the fields because harvest season in Thailand is December to January and you just saw the fields after they were cultivated and waiting to be replanted in the spring. If you notice, the areas outside of the cultivated fields are very green.
December to February is winter (but hot in Kanchanaburi 22 - 34 c) March to May is summer (very hot 25 - 41 c) make this town is very dry. If u go in other month is very season and very beautiful.
The real nice and gorgeous vid of the Cave Temple , I'm Thai and have never visited there , thank you so much for filming the new level exploring the Thai temples , stay safe and enjoy traveling Sabai Sabai land..
This is a must visit next time you're in Thailand. I rode this old timey train on my trip in December 2022 and throroughly enjoyed it. The tiger cave temple was a real treat also.
I am thai and has just subscribed to your channel, thank your so much for visiting Thailand and please say "hello" to people around the world you see...😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
I saw another vlogger featuring this place but it didn’t show the bridge and the train. I thought the only way to go there as a tourist is by renting a private transportation. Now I know, you could take a train from Bangkok. I will keep in mind that temple caves includes climbing stairs and going thru the intricacies of the cave itself but you still have the option of not taking yourself further. Going into these caves is not for people with knee and back problems. Even for a slight feeling of claustrophobia, it’s not advisable. Thanks for showing it. Can’t wait to see the waterfalls.
What an adventure! Really cool vlog , I really enjoy this laidback no tourist yet super active day 😅 it reminds me of your Myanmar 🇲🇲 serie that is still to this day one of my favourite of yours! I’m digging the caves with bats and tarantulas 👌🏼🤣 🦇 🕷️ Always good idea to get the adrenaline going 🎉 Look forward to see the next vlog Have fun Sabrina🇫🇷🇬🇧
Hello Cris, Carol and parents!!! Warmest regards! Thanks for showing the world to us. The United Nations should award you a Plaque of Recognition as Tourism ambassadors of the world. Take care and God bless you always. - Willie Fred Cabalar Badbaden of Toronto
Many Pows(commonwealth forces) and malayans were forced to build the bloody bridge. With little food, diseases like malaria, they died. The movie, bridge on the river kwai, showed partial truth but it did made people understand the suffering.
Oh good, I took the train with you guys. And I will not miss every minute and enjoy together. have a safe trip And where you say it's dry there, it's like a farmer shoveling the top of the soil for the next rice planting. I think so because next to it it's green. And the Tiger Cave Temple that you enter is very nice to visit. I'm afraid you guys will get stuck in there. So much fun. Thank you. The second temple also looks very exciting. You guys are very strong and your father and mother are so strong I'm amazed. I'm waiting for the next episode
Brings back memories of our family holiday to Thailand. The movie was beautiful made and brought the characters of three main protagonists exceptionally well. Contrary to popular belief, large parts of the movie was filmed in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Good to see how much the infrastructure has improved in Kanchanaburi and how well it is maintained. The climb to the caves is a serious workout. I hope you guys go to Chiang Mai and Chaing Rai...it's so different from the touristy places in Thailand. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Absolute gem of a video!!! The caves were awesome and what an amazing shot at 14:13. This trip looked liked a lot of fun with the train ride, hiking, cave exploring, sunset and the viewpoints! Great stuff 👍🏻
WAS DYING LAUGHING AT THE END OF THE VIDEO.....CHRIS IS WALKING ACROSS THE BRIDGE DOING HIS OUTRO AND DUDE IN BLACK COME UP BEHIND HIM LIKE HE WAS FIXING TO ROB HIM 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍❤️❤️
Chris, props to your parents for keeping up with you and Carol, how much weight was Carol carrying in her backpack? Also enjoyed your trip thru the Bat Cave👍👍 Another awesome video 🥵😆
The dog is in deep state of meditation... The red light makes it spooky... haha... Have not watched your videos for a while - you sound funnier and look healthier !
It’s quite right that it is called the Death Railway (over 400km long)because of the high mortality rate of the Allied Prisoners of War and the Asian native workers. However, by far the highest number of deaths did not occur at the Bridge over the Kwai area. The most notorious areas were up country and deep in the uninhabited jungle. My father was a POW on the railway in BOTH the “Kwai” camp and in several of the jungle camps around Hellfire Pass.
The trainset reminds me a lot of my childhood 25 years ago here in Indonesia. The fan, the window and even the Station, they're just like taking me way back to my childhood moments. And I remember I really hate that economy class because of the 90 degree fix hard seat. I can tolerate non AC class, but the seat is just big NO for me back then here Indonesia.

This train will join with the southern mainline at taling chan station. You can take SRT light red line to there and take train.
As a Thai, I’ve been there only once when I was 10. Now I live in the States. I really want to go back again! There are so many history back home.
Love the video and $3 - awesome deal for a scenic ride!
Where you go slow is Hell Fire Pass!! Another great video, loved that place as well.
Cheers
OMG, the train reminds me of the train I took from Georgetown, Penang to Surat Thani, Thailand a long time ago.

Yes the last one wasn't so bad but that second one with the tiny tunnel isn't for everyone.
I had been same your trip 25 years ago. NICE.
The way up to Tiger Cave Temple is very steep. Glad to see you happy in our country. 🙏♥️🇹🇭

Amazing video, guys! Thank you so much. We just discovered your channel and will be following you now.
Welcome aboard!
The actual film bridge over the river Kwai was filmed in Sri Lanka. I visited Kanchanaburi in 2018 lovely place. Stayed on a river boat.
How about the Film

That Buddhist monk statue looked so real scary! Cool cave
Very enjoyed this video. The river is actually pronounced kwair (or mair nam kwair). Its a bit touristy but has plenty to do.
Wow, this was cool ☺ And so nice to see that your parents are still with you ☺ ♥
Those caves were definitely giving Indiana Jones vibes!
It was fun!
Chris, props to your parents for keeping up with you and Carol, how much weight was Carol carrying in her backpack? Also enjoyed your trip thru the Bat Cave👍👍 Another awesome video 🥵😆

Amazing Place 🤩
𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 ❤️🇵🇭
nice relaxing day✌✌😍😍👍👍
In fact $3 is still the foreigner price at this section of railway. For locals the price is just 20 baht or around $0.8
