hello!! this is johan (the new editor), i wanted to thank everybody for the warm welcomes!! it feels weird reading my name in the comments section of a channel i've been watching for a long time, and even weirder that i somehow managed to make my non-isaac-playing friends to watch an isaac video through and through. i had a few things i wanted to say:
- to those saying that the visuals are a bit much and the cuts are too fast, i hear you!! matt brought these up to me before the video went up, and i noticed it myself watching the video back after the fact, so that's my fault for being hasty with the edits. this has been addressed and will be changed in the future, promise!
- i am a full time college student and have a part time job, so you won't see me around too often

I did like some of the bits, like the dangling sacred heart, or the -401 luck bit. I think I agree with everyone else, but I also think you'll get the hang of it after a few videos

No I noticed too, Idk if it's just me but I really don't like it. It feels way too much like brainrot slop sort of content now with all of the sound effects, pop ups and zooms and everything, the cuts feel wayyy more noticable now too and it just feels alot less like the whole "random guy talking to you" vibes, idk if it's just me, I just hate it it feels so uncomfortable

I mean, the editing definitely feels different. Those of us who are chronically tied to this channel can notice it. It has more sound effects, zoom-ins and images.
I don't think it's necessarily bad. I like it, but I wouldn't like for your videos to turn into ultra-edited scenes with 5 memes every second. The reason I like your content is because is feels almost like a podcast. The minimalistic editing style is what keeps me here.

He had sharp plug queen of hearts and could've rerolled scapula and habit into better items

Johan did a nice job editing this video but i do have some critiques.
-matt does the meme edits but it's less frequent than what is present.
-matt style of humor is quite 'deadpan' in nature and i think it's somewhat missing from this vid.
This is from a guy who just watch matts vids on toilet so if you disagree, it's okay. Im a random dude on the internet. Other than that, nice job, Johan :D

@@veryFair64 My only suggestion is show more of the item descriptions. It was a problem before as well. It's nice to be able to read what hes pogging off about, but I have to pause and rewind 10 times to freeze on the 0.1 seconds where it shows.
Johan has different timing compared to Matt, also, there's a little more focus on effects. Needless to say, great job Johan, from one editor to another, you do an amazing job getting the feel of Matt's editing.

Yeah I noticed the new editor almost immediately, which is crazy because I had turned on the video while doing chores and hadn’t even looked at the screen yet. I think Johan’s editing style is good, but a little different, a lot more fun effects and such that a true editor would know how include. Personally, I think it should be toned down a little bit from now to give it more of a mattman vibe, but I think it’s definitely a good editing style to include at the start of the video to hook people in. Anyway, great job editing Johan, I look forward to more of your editing in the future as we see you adjust more to Matt’s style. Also, good on mattman for hiring an editor and taking some of the burden of content making off of yourself. Hopefully this means more free time for you that you can spend with friends/family, or that you can spend on making even more mattman content for us. :)
