Easy No Solder Large Cabochon Pendant Setting

- This unique cabochon pendant is super easy to make and great for large and odd shaped cabochons! No soldering required! All you need is a few basic tools.
In this video I used a 33x18mm Kambaba Jasper cabochon but you can use any size and any type of stone that you like. The tools can be found on most jewelry making supplier websites or Amazon. Some of them can also be found at hardware stores. I get my copper in bulk from roofing supply companies because it's less expensive.
24 gauge copper (or other metal)
tin snips
hammering block
ball peen hammer
riveting hammer
metal files
metal hole punch (multiple size holes)
pliers
bezel roller
liver of sulfur
Although I create interest in the piece using line texture and holes you can decorate these simple settings in many different ways. Try using different textures or dimple pliers.

What gauge sheet do you use?
I use 24 gauge
you could have made two pieces if you had not put it right in the middle. Kinda teaching people to waste.
If you’re talking about the placement of the pendant on the copper square, that’s not usually how I do it. I cut out a separate square from a bigger sheet for the purpose of this video - to make it easier to film.
