Another cracking video. If anyones debating going with Rich on a workshop I attended my first last week with the Dippers and it was a quality experience.
We have a pair of Dippers nesting just below a footpath in a very busy park. Hundreds of people must walk, run and cycle past every day and not know they are there. The last couple of days they have both been busy taking food into the nest so hopefully there'll soon be chicks. There's another pair further up the valley and their youngster last year was extremely tolerant of people. Magical birds.
Hi Richard, I really enjoyed that and some great images and nice to see you are getting down amongst it, those intimate low level shots really bring the images to life! Love the cotton candy effect shots of the birds in their environment. Dippers are superb little birds that always looks clean and smart due to it's aquatic habits. Newly Subscribed to your channel, best of luck on your RUclips journey. All the best Richard from the County next door. 👍
Hi Richard, Thanks for subscribing and taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it. I’ve just subbed back and will have a binge through your videos. Give me a shout if you’re in Devon 👍
Some fantastic images & footage there Richard, great to see you get all three of your visionary images ticked off too. I love Dippers, there aren't any around in my part of the UK (Suffolk), but my parents live in Devon & I always have a wander down the River Dart when I'm down their way to look for the dippers. Fantastic little birds! Great vlog, thanks for sharing. Keep on keeping on. Best, Nick
you are the super doodley dipper photograph guy and I love watching your videos. Awesome images. Thank you for sharing - take care and be safe out there....
Great footage and pictures of the dippers :) nature can be so rewarding! I spotted and photographed my first nuthatch the other day which I wasn't expecting!
Hi Chris, They’re my favourite two birds too! Thanks for watching and also taking the time to comment. If you want, feel free to sign up to my website and you’ll receive newsletters regarding upcoming tours and workshops 😊👍
Normally where I walk, where my dad used to take me over 45 years ago, they’ve nested under the bridge there for as long as I remember. The Dipper would be the first bird I see when getting out of the car, followed by a Buzzard or 3 mewing overhead. The bridge handrail has been damaged somehow, there’s a temp screen there so not sure if that will spook them this year, I’ll have a look in the next few weeks when I’ll do some Dipper photography myself. Great low level shot from you, very impressive.
That sounds like a lovely location and hopefully they haven’t been spooked by the changes! Good luck and thank you so much for watching and taking them time to comment 👍
Hey Rich, another fantastic video! Your decision to start making RUclips videos was a great thing for all of us! 😎😊 I have to say that bird photography really is a difficult game to play. I always was more of a mammal photographer but some time ago got a bit into birds and have to say it's really demanding yet satisfying and kinda magical - especially in a winter time. Congrats on taking those exceptional images, loved them and the whole story! Looking forward to seeing you in the next video and hopefully one day in person somewhere in the forest with cameras! Cheers!
Hey, thank you, I really do appreciate that. I just enjoy it and like to share what I do. I was the same with mammals, mostly hares but then I found the dippers and now love bird photography just as much! Thank you for continued support and have a wonderful weekend 😊👍
