On the surface to many just starting out checkers seems simple as in the beginner's mind it's about exchanging pieces etc. But the true fact is that underneath the surface the game of checkers is a very strategic game. Lots of complexities such as when to defend and attack etc. Add in the different variations of Chess and one will soon learn that things aren't quite so simple as they may have originally thought.
Hi Kradol! Thank you for your comment. The position at the end is a 3 vs 3. Red 3,5, and 12. White 14,18 and king 2. The reason why it is a draw is because it is red move, otherwise as you notice if it was white move he would stop the checkers and win. Red goes 1. 3-8 if (k) 2-7 8-11 draws. Again 1. 3-8 18-15 2. 12-16 2-7 3. 8-12 7-11 4. 16-20 draws. White king does not have enough time to stop red 2 checkers from getting kings. Thank you!
Your welcome! You can try the web site, flyordie, the players play a lot the single corner opening and the cross opening, try to familiar yourself with those openings, i have a few on both, also the Glasgow is a good opening to learn and the Alma. Let me know how you are doing. You might want to get "Starting out in Checkers" by Richard Pask. You probably can get it on Amazon or ABE.com it hard to find in the books stores and also the Library usually has some checker books but mostly chess.
When I first learned checkers, I was told to go for the edges. That's probably why I never liked the game. Had I been told to go for the center, I would have been able to make a connection between chess and checkers. Considering the most common opening is to go for the edge, apparently this is how checkers is often taught to beginners. I can't help but wonder why this myth is perpetuated. Seems counterproductive.
Your checker rules is different from ours at 5:40 it is mandoratory to eat the white. And i think your gameplay is so simple that it will always end in draw.

I'm sorry I never understood the purpose of dominating the center. I'm not sure why red waited to lose two checkers before he became king
Do you mean at 4:42? It was because of the forced jump. If you can take a checker you have to before you move any other pieces.
@@shirosai615 ok, I have never played that way but thank you for the explanation 😁
Most players don’t move the way you show it. They usually attack from the single corner.

InfiniteUniverse88 But why? Nobody says why. The middle is the danger zone and no mans land
Always remember to feed the woman you have trapped in the pit in your basement.
Yhe classice checker:Each team has 12 dots and the king can only go 1 step (can go backwards and forwards)
Are those bakelite pieces? Where can I find some?
Do you have nemesis professional?

Checker cycle please come back to us
5:40 sir thier is mandatory rule
Love your reviews of possibility, but wouldn't playing too aggressive result in predator becoming the prey?
All in all i love your videos!
No, i have checkerboard with Cakes and King Row. How is Nemesis professional?
Thank
Checkers masters seem a lot less grand then the chess ones ;)
I fall asleep listening to these sometimes
Can sum1 tell me what it's like to lose at checkers?
No1 seems to be able to show me.
What rules each number?

At 5:47 why the white hasnt jumped over red from 18 to 27?
White isn't playing in that direction I don't think
White can’t move backwards
Red played for the centre but white had the advantage
What happened to 20-16
but why is checkers better than chess like poe says ?
in the international rule it is much better
