    You cannot be loved by everyone unless you’re a $100 bill. And even then you can get haters.
    As I were younger, I got along with everyone! I’m a natural empath, and it wasn’t hard for me to read people - and adjust to them. Until I got older, got tired, grew up and got fed up with people’s bad tempers and poor thinking. I could not swallow abuse, be it from the boss or from a coworker. I got to the point I cannot be managed anymore :) not a good thing, probably, but I run my own team now.

      @communicationstation2687 3 года назад +2

      Olga, when you say “natural empath” it leads me to believe you are high in trait agreeableness according to the Big 5 personality traits. It sounds like you learned to set boundaries, which is healthy, and now you are able to lead more effectively. Just a slight reframing from an observer.

    • @OlgaPogozheva
      @OlgaPogozheva 3 года назад +4

      Communication Station Unfortunately I know nothing about Big 5 traits you mentioned - I understood people naturally, so it’s no achievement of mine. It’s the same way I always wrote in my native languages (Russian & Ukrainian) without a single mistake (I’m a published fantasy writer now...). I’ve never even given it a second thought. And I didn’t set boundaries consciously, either. It’s the circumstances that made me more self-confident and mature. At a certain stage, I had no energy to care anymore. It’s not the healthiest thing to set personal boundaries... but that’s what really happened 🙂

That, of course, led to my friendships mainly being surface level, and my tighter ones weren't always the best fit - I was a people pleaser (still working on that), and I got run over in my relationships.

What I found out is that my thoughts weren’t valued if he disagreed with me. So apparently we found out that it was a surface relationship. The only way to get along with everyone is to establish mutual respect. The problem is that so many today are not capable of communicating for two reasons. 1. They lack principals 2. Their liberal upbringing did not allow them to mature to the point where they can accept a different viewpoint or constructive criticism. I am not republican or Democrat however I debate people from both sides respectfully. Unfortunately I notice the majority of the democrats stoop to name calling and struggle to debate. I am always willing to dig deep and understand where people are coming from but once someone stoops to name calling they lost their argument and my respect goes with it. I get along with people on both sides who are willing to talk and are willing to get to a point where you can be friends even if you might have to agree to disagree on certain arguments.

      Funny how that happens. No communication skills in everyday life. I think the people that post and can't have a dialogue is the plan. Say something negative and move on. These people are either paid obstructionists, unable to communicate and or have the behaviorisms of "adult children." Most of what I have seen is to parrot dem politicians and the MSM networks words. They have been coerced to behave like this. This is the behavior of insecure, weak, low self confidence, low self esteem, etc. . . persons. The attitude of "I am right, you are wrong." I try to educate. They don't want to research facts because they are too lazy and or are paid obstructionists. Have you ever had a worker that tells you they can do something and completed with incompetence. There are people who can't say no, I can't do this, but I will learn how.

    Getting along with people I feel like is important man. I mean its better than sabotaging relationships with one person after another. I mean you can learn to put those differences aside and still be civil. Maintaining relationships is a skill in itself

    Such an interesting and eye-opening approach to the topic of "getting along with people".
    I have dealt deep into personality types and neuroscience over the past 12 months. I am not an expert or consider myself a guru. I do it for myself, to improve.
    The knowledge and evaluated experience I got during the process is extremely valuable. My relationships went to a level of certainty, confidence, and clarity like never before.
    It helped me get past many limiting and defensive beliefs I held due to the large emotional baggage I was carrying since childhood and upbringing.
    I want to thank Pat and VT for this video and to wish a great week to all the Valuetainers out there. Have a great week everyone. Stay strong.

    That's why you never show publicly what you actually stand for. Keep that private for the only ones that really understand/agrees with you. But in business, keep everything professional and focus on results only. That will make you go much further in life. Never waste valuable time and energy by arguing with other people. It doesn't matter if you're right, most people are too childish to admit when they are wrong so just leave it.

    To be honest I must say i could always listen to your videos for a balance opinion or approach even on touchy subjects. Over the years I also couldn't listen too long to you, but that's because you bring alot of solid content so my ability to focus must be up to absorb much of it. But unlike many other speakers I feel I can trust your content since you question topics practically, the ones that people are afraid to ask and due to that I have no choice but to stick around for the debate. Thanks

    I can't thank you enough for all of your content. I have come to believe that leaders are always readers, with you being a prime example...do you happen to have any videos in which you describe how you go about when reading books? Do you simply highlight, or do you take notes in a special way? Etc.

    Great video Patrick, Thumbs-up!
    Maybe a bit short, maybe just right as a teaser to set people off to think about the subject.
    It is an unusual video in that, there's not many videos made that are similar but the subject of how we get along with others who share the planet with us is something that touches us all on an every day basis, perhaps most of the time unconsciously.
    I hope that this video causes many people to ponder about the issue, do some soul searching and self evaluation. If we do, it is likely to ONLY produce positive results, make us stronger and better resolved in our convictions whatever they may be.
    Keep up the good work!
