Tim and Christy I love your property you can really see the hump from the air nice job Christy. Looking forward to watching the progress of this project. 🙂
Best pun ever. I’m just TILLING IT as it is😂 Our county sucks. My grandparents live in a flood plane and them and the neighbors lose so much from floods and the county won’t let us do anything about it. I’m considering getting a lawyer involved in the future cuz this has been an ongoing thing for 20+ years.
I've never noticed that hump until now. The drone video clearly shows the outline of the hump. Maybe fill in the pond? Eager to see this series through. God Bless!
I suggest scraping that layer of topsoil off and saving it off to the side. That way you know for certain you will have some good topsoil to finish the project with in the case that you hit more fill type material further down in that mound
Can't wait to see the family work together again! Doing it this way makes for great content, showing the whole TTWT lineup in action. Also just noticed that you are coming up on another subscriber milestone!!!🎉
I had a mound like that in my front yard, when I was growing up. Unfortunately it was the septic drain field (we had high ground water) so we had to leave it alone. Great video, thanks!
Wow never saw the bump prior and have watched videos for long time!!! What a great project mr!! I have a big one going on as well! I promise i won't use any of your idea🤣🤣! I mean your idea are never any good lol! Doing water ways on the farm. 1025r/ 656 farmall/ mahindra 2615/ ... Hitachi track hoe has water way opened up with piles of trees!! But dirt work to go yet. Can't wait to see how your project goes!! Ready to learn!! Thank Tim
Glad to see you using the 1025R. After I tilled my garden the first time this spring, ~80'x40', I told my wife we needed a bigger garden. It didn't take long enough to till! An idea for any issues getting a good stand of grass there: make that a sweet corn patch! That looks like a good size for growing sweet corn to freeze.
You are right about the sunset, wow. But that view from the drone, a true definition of a flatlander. Wish I could use a tiller, too many rocks on my property, would tear it to pieces. I'm in the California foothills.
It rains so much here in SC that roundup doesn’t last anywhere near as long as it claims. Here I was thinking the hump was a high and dry area. I dug a pond on our property in AK and did use the dirt to create a high area for privacy along the road. Filled in the pond with the same dirt when we sold it.
I look forward to watching this! Enjoyed this video. I spread 40tons of gravel few days ago in a 30x60 pole barn using a full size backhoe, then a full size tractor with a loader and a hay spike LOL. It is a challenge to just turn around with either. I was thinking boy I sure wish Tim was here on the 1025R! You have really changed my mind on the practicality of mini tractors I am thinking next year the 50hp I have will sell and move to a 30.
Really glad to see you working a large project with the smaller equipment! That is what I have to work with myself. I continue to be impressed with what you can accomplish with your fleet. I have to admit that it would be really cool to see Dirt Perfect on your channel. That guy is my second favorite next to your channel. Thanks for the fantastic content!!!!!
@@TractorTimewithTim that's too bad, I've been hoping for a few years now to see you add a DB scraper to the fleet. Great videos, thank you for putting in the time to make them.
When I was younger i saw my uncle change the landscape of one of his fields, it was hilly, and he flattened it out, but he used a bulldozer, It will be interesting to see what you do next to this field. I must say you have a nice looking place. You do need a red barn .
That Maschio Tiller is doing fantastic! My experiences doing sod with a small tiller are not so fun. The tiller jumps all around and it takes a number of passes to get to depth.
Well, I hope it's not all finished before I get around to visiting the site. Looks to be a great project to get rid of the hump. I knew of a doctor that had just the hump you described created for his estate back in your previous hometown.
I just removed a 2 foot hill bank 60 foot wide and took it back 24 feet. My biggest time consumer was getting the dirt from the working area to 100 yards or so where I was piling it up for later uses. It's alot more dirt than I guessed. I only used my bucket with a tooth bar and a box blade. I will find real interest on how you accomplish this task Tim.
Having tilled all sizes of gardens with a Troy Built tiller I can say the 1025R and the Mascho is the way to go. If you wait 3-4 days and go back over the tilled area the soil will break down easily!! I assume you will be moving and dumping the soil to several areas so fine soil is easily let to move and level no matter what machine you utilize..,
I've got about 2 acres I would like to smooth out. After tilling, would a rake be enough before seeding? Or will that be in one of the upcoming episodes?
It looks like you're getting a good start. As long as your patience doesn't run out you'll be able to get it done with the tractors you have at your disposal. I'm surprised you didn't use the GPS guidance for the tilling. It looks like a large project for small tractors. Small tractors doesn't it can't be done. It just means that it might take a little longer. Good luck and look forward to seeing Johnny X put to work.
That pond must be deep. That hump looks twice the size of that pond. Or it could just be me. Good luck. I believe it'll make the yard look alot better as well.
Did you do a video on putting on the hydraulic gages? Love to put on on mine just to see where it runs at. I was just wondering how many hours do you have on your tractor, tractors? Just turned 108 on mine. Was new last Nov. Mostly digging out tree stumps. Digging out the creek. Thank you for your how to videos.
We had a frontier tiller on our 1023E. Cast mounting arms broke many times. Repaired with 1/2 X 2 flat bar. Mount for Maschio 2 piece aluminum gearbox bent, eventually gearbox broke in two. Total junk. We now have 48" Woods tiller with same cast iron gearbox as 60" tiller and gear drive to the tines.
@@TractorTimewithTim can't remember model number, it was 48" with chain drive to tines. Master link came apart once. We have lots of rocks in Willamette valley in Oregon. Ground gets so hard in summer we have to before we can till.
Great video Tim, sounds like a fun video series. Looking forward to seeing your family chipping in and your dads cab 3R is favorite of mine on your channel. I would load your trailer and add lots of fill/widen all your berms/levees. And I say load the trailer cause I am not sure how far you need to move material. Dragging seems slow if you have any distance to move.
As I’m sitting here watching this video it brought to mind a company that make dirt pan scrapers for compact tractor that would seem pretty nice for a project like this. Hoelscher Commercial Products is the manufacturer, the scraper is the DB series. Can’t wait to see the final grade on this project.
