I think one other detail you missed is that when he splits his stance, his leading food is parallel or ahead of his defender's foot. That gives him a bit more edge. It's somewhat similar to a drop step post move. Also, love this new vid format. I've always liked your film analysis, so combining it with a training demo adds the finishing touches

He'd combo this move with others like the dream shake or straight into a left-turn or right-turn fadeaway. Isaiah Thomas used to do this move but he split it in half, making it look like a half spin before the NBA ruled it a travel/carry.
