I just got an 8L King Chii and I'm absolutely shocked by how nice the quality is. Feels great. Seals great. Silent. Super small, but it's perfect for a really light cigar smoker like myself. 30-40 cigar range.
The King Chii 8L was my entree and now I stepped up to the 48L. I still have about 60 sticks in the 8L, smaller vitolas . However, I got concerned with the air not properly circulating with that capacity.
What RH boveda packs are you using to maintain 65 humidity? Do the boveda packs over perform in the Kingchii and run a little higher like they do in Tupperware?
Boveda recommends 84 to season. For me, that has never worked well as it is very hard to bring down. I like to go 10% above my long term target and then I put in my normal packs. So if my long term target is 65%. I get it up to 75% and then I throw in my cigars and the 65% packs
Man that does kinda suck tbh but at least it doesn’t reset to the low 50’s like the i can’t remember if it was newair or needone that the guy from cigarprop has does. But he did do a test with the cigar medic humidimeter after 1 and 2 weeks way down in the 50’s and shockingly the sticks hadnt lost a ton of moisture so I’d say as long as someone can put eyes on it every few to several days it’s not as big of deal then dropping to 64. Hell actually now that i think about it i just smoked a maduro nub yesterday that has been dry boxing in a drafty old cohiba box in my room for like a week or two and it still smoked great if you can believe that, nubbed it all the way out and i might’ve had one touch up one time if that. So put your mind at ease bro. I’m not 100 percent sure but i think this was the video where he discovered about the resetting temp setting and did gods crude test. ruclips.net/video/Nz23-1L27Dg/видео.htmlsi=ItnMccSj60rJzylf
Am I the only one who has heating issues? Set it to 70F it’s at 66F inside and after 24h it was still at 66F. It’s 67F in my room. If this can’t keep up to par I don’t understand why not use a regular cedar humidor.
At first I used the boveda 84% seasoning pack, but it really struggled to come down after. Reset and did it to about 75% and then I keep it at 65%, so 10% above the constant I’m gonna keep it at.
This is so similar to the needone with the front panel and buttons. Except this is shorter and fatter than their 48L. Also Needone drawers can be stacked directly on top of each other without the slats catching. I can put 6 drawers in my 48L needone if I wanted too without them interfering with one another.
**EDIT: This has a capacity of 350 cigars.

The quality is surprisingly good. I agree !

Very cool, I’m going to switch to thermo-electric, I’m just looking for one that has the hydrometer in digital format on the front.
do you find a variance in the temp reading between the unit temp gauge and your own?
Mine has been perfect
@@cigar.alchemistso strange. My temp reader is showing 68 when I have it set to 67.
Does anyone know what the purpose is when you press the temp up and down at the same time? It shows 86 and you can move it down to 74?
I do not. Wasn’t aware it even did that
I got a response from the manufacturer they said it’s a test sequence and should not be an interface to the customer
What RH boveda packs are you using to maintain 65 humidity? Do the boveda packs over perform in the Kingchii and run a little higher like they do in Tupperware?
I use a bunch of 65 RHs! Not that I’ve noticed it is just exactly the RH of the bovedas
Had the same problem with my tups. Especially the medium/smaller ones.
I love it. Put a Cigar Oasis in it and it’s perfect for me! Bought it 4 months ago.
Glad to hear!
Nice review brother, looks like a solid unit from King Chii
Thank you sir 👊 and yup. So far so good with these units.
If the power goes out/if you unplug it, will it reset back to the lowest temperature? Or will it stay at whatever you set it to?
I just recently realized it resets to 64 degrees. At least mine does
What boveda packs do you recommend ? When starting to season my humidor? Or any other humidity methods!

Been looking for one that doesn’t break the bank. Nice review, question Is the draw and shelves solid cedar or veneer?
Not sure how to tell tbh. I know the humidity has remained perfect and there is a nice cedar scent when opened.
Thanks for the review, I ordered one.
@@cigar.alchemist there’s been complaints of having that bad plastic smell upon opening… did you experience that?
It doesn’t remember the setting if power is lost. It defaults to 64F

I just got one. Taking forever to season it and get it up to the 65%-69% I want. Gotta be patient.
Hope you enjoy it!
Does this come with a factory smell like some other brands do?
It was not too strong on this model for me
@@cigar.alchemist how did you deal with the smell? I'm having issues with mine.
Does the fan always run on yours? I just received mine yesterday and the fan has always been on.
It does not always run on mine. I’d reach out to them!

I have not had that issue
@@cigar.alchemistdo you always hear a noise from it? I only hear it when cooling or when I plug it in
John, where are you getting the extra drawers from.
These three drawers shown are the drawers it came with
Thanks, trying to find extra drawers is not easy. I was hoping they sold them and would fit the needone. Needone drawers are always out of stock.
@@FrontNineCigars these guys should be able to help:

Nice video. Thanks for responding
What's the inner width?
I don’t see them listed.
The overall dimensions are 20.23 x 15.74 x 21.6 inches
Hey brother! Thank you for the amazing content I do appreciate it. Just a question for you. Any cons 5 months later? Thank you in advance
Of course. And none whatsoever
@@cigar.alchemist thank you! 🫡
Thank you
How did you season?
Went 10% above my RH target and then put in my target RH bovedas
Debating about this vs a NEEDONE
I don’t have any experience with NEEDONE so can’t really say. All I can say is I’ve been genuinely happy with anything I’ve had from KingChii
RUclips doesn't ding you for saying the word Amazon lmao.
😂😂 they’re so against cigar content I’m not taking chances lol

It feels like the same sourcing manufacturer. And yeah that would be nice.. lol
Good info... but maybe not identical... don't think the needone unit can supply warming.
