    The original g29 belt is too loose with the new style clutch so I recommend using the j55 belt used on newer g29 carts

    Just had clutch replaced on our 2018 Yamaha after sudden failure (under warranty). We've been told housing may need replacement due to internal damage, that we need to watch for oil leaks. Kicker is, if housing needs replacement, our dealer says this part is back ordered for 6 weeks. Seems this a common problem with Yamaha's, is this correct. Do you recommend replacing housing if no oil leaks are found? Thanks!

    I went from a stock black spring to a red spring and lost all my speed. I went from about 25mph to about 10mph. I'm wondering if I did something wrong?

    I replaced the spring on my 2015 drive with the new power torque spring. When I go down a hill it seems to be slipping once in a while. It never did that before. It doesn’t do it coming up or driving on level roads. Any idea what is causing this? Thanks

    My 2010 Yamaha G29 lurches forward when just getting going. Could this be related to the clutch being worn out by chance? Or is there some sort of throttle adjustment I need to make?

    After changing my spring I noticed a small gap where the two pieces were riding against one another.Will this close back up after running the cart or will all the pressure be on the spine's only and cause damage?

    Hi, great Video, if I have a EZGO TXT and it has no torque uphill, is it posibile it only be a spring problem ?or should I change also de driven clutch?; I have the correct belt installed on it :o ; buit still really low torque.

    Hello Sir! Since you installed a higher torque spring in the clutch it makes it better for low-end speed/power. So if you installed lower torque spring, would it make the top speed noticeable higher? I have a G29 and want higher speed rather than pulling power. I have increased the governor but did not want to over do it.

      the weights in the primary clutch are not working correctly. the primary clutch is not opening correctly. when it starts lift seat and see if belt is very tight. if so, that is the problem

    Where do I buy new style secondary clutch?

  • @effjamis4401
    @effjamis4401 6 лет назад

    Now that you put in the spring, and/or new secondary clutch.. 1. did you use the axle snap ring or leave it off when installing .? also what about the woodruff Key? alignment and use?? G16 Yamaha cart.

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  6 лет назад +1

      A spacer comes with the new spring that takes the place of the snap ring. The woodruff key has to be used on a secondary clutch assembly. No alignment is needed for a Yamaha.

    Please take this video down. This is very inaccurate information. The new rear clutch you installed is NOT compatible with the TEAM front clutch you have on that cart. To update to that new style rear clutch you also need the new style front clutch and the new wider and shorter belt. That is why your belt went on so easy, because it's the wrong one! Also that torque spring does not work in that clutch. I bet that cart was very slow when you took it for a test drive and would have eventually smoked that belt. Here is the part number for a complete clutch upgrade kit for the 2007 to 2012.5 Yamaha drive - 99999-JW8G6-PC

    I have a 2018 Yamaha drive2 concierge 4 with high speed gears and get bad hill climbing because of it. Is the install the same for my golf cart? And will this give lower speed too, or just increase the torque?

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  5 лет назад

      It will increase the torque but, it will greatly decrease your top end speed.

    • @sgremp1
      @sgremp1 5 лет назад

      @@golfcartking that's what I was afraid of, with the fuel injection could I offset the speed loss with governor adjustment? We live in a hilly area so the hill climbing would be helpful.

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  5 лет назад

      @@sgremp1 Yes, you can adjust the governor but be careful on the speed. Over revving the engine can cause oil to get in the muffler and it'll start smoking.

    Barry, got an issue with the G16 Secondary clutch.. Upon removing the center bolt and using a puller, the entire clutch came off the axle. Now when replacing the clutch, new complete assemble, but each piece separate, chives, key spring etc. therefore did not come off the axle as a unit. apparently I cannot assemble the clutch as you have done on the bench. Any advise would be appreciated. 407-520-1061

      what method do you use in compressing the spring while all components are on the axle? I have tried a c-clamp, ratchet strap. what about taking the spring to a vise and compressing and then use zip ties to keep it compressed while installing the clutch on axle?

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  6 лет назад

      Long screwdriver going through the spring seat and resting on the axle housing. I kept a 1"x 1" square tube on the back of my service truck to use as leverage to compress the spring. It's not a fun job!

      This is a follow up.....in reference to the installation of the secondary clutch for the G16.
      The spring is a pain to compress. I tried to use C-clamp, Bar/2x4, ratchet strap, and zip ties.
      Well the conclusion is: Zip Ties... I placed the spring in a vise and compressed it while tieing the zip ties. I used 6 of the 120# ties in order to hold the spring compressed. I then proceeded to install the clutch, and with the spring compressed, I was able, easily, to place all parts in the sequence, and install the woodruff key then the fixed shieve, washer and nut. then cut the ties... done...
      I want to thank Barry for his intuitive, assistance and video's in making a successful install... Thanks Barry.
