1982. Combat Rock is the name of the Clash album with "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go". It was their fifth studio album and their last with their original line up as the band began to fall apart after its success. "Know Your Rights" kicks off side one. The song "Ghetto Defendant" on the second side features poetry by Allen Ginsberg.

The drums was recorded by Topper Headon. He was fired just before the tour because of heroine addiction. He was replaced by original drummer Terry Chimes who also played with Generation X, Hanoi Rocks, Black Sabbath and Cherry Bombz. He is in this video. Guitarist Mick Jones was fired after the tour.

Pretty good analysis...my take is there is a lot.of hypocracy gping on here all due to oil/ money. They use their religion to keep people in line and the rock music in the clubs is a threat to their oil/power. "Degenerate the faithful, with that crazy casba sound". I think there is more but thats enough here. Happy listening!

I love the Clash but have always had a love hate thing with this song. It was very overplayed.
