I love your channel. I'm in Phoenix also and it's nice to be able to follow some of the same problems I've had with my pool. You speak clearly and explain very well. Thank you
@@ladiesweb4769 Agreed! I fall a lot in our yard! It just isn’t broadcasted! 🤦🏾♀️😂 🌲 🌳 ( Cleaning the yard with my Kids toys is an absolute obstacle course 😂)
I don't see a link for the Bio Dex Remover Plus. I know you didn't use it in the video but I'd like to give you a little bit of the credit for recommending it.
2 months ago or so i was trying to get the PH level of my inflatable pool right but i miscalculated somewhere, and mixed it in the bucket with my bare hand like you did. That started to hurt after 30 seconds or so LOL. Quickly ran to the water tap to rinse it off. Oh well my hand is still on there and functional 😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As a First-time Pool Mom Thanks so much! I definitely needed this information! To keep me and my daughters safe during our Michigan Summer Fun days! ☀️ And I needed the laughs lol 😂 ☀️ 💧 🏊🏼♀️ 🧜🏽♀️ 🧜🏽♀️
We haven't had the pool up in three years, but every time we had it up we he an algae problem. We cleaned the pool as best we could with a skimmer to remove leaves and debris, but we had algae problems anyway.
What about Calcium Hardness? Mine is at 0. I haven't worried about it too much with a vinyl pool & just try to keep everything else in balance but now that everything else is mostly balanced I should probably work a little on the CH.
There’s a couple ways to manage calcium hardness, you can add calcium if it’s low (below 200 ppm). That’s not the case for you being in phx though. I’m sure your’s is on the high side (somewhere north of 600ppm). This is where we get into balancing the water. Think of a sea saw. On one side is calcium hungry water, on the other is water that scales (like your shower head does) Ideally we want sea saw to be balance level. A little to one side is ok, a little to the other is ok but we’re shooting for the sea saw to be balanced. The things that control how that sea saw is balanced are temperature (colder water tends toward calcium hungry, hot water tends toward scaling), alkalinity (low tends toward calcium hungry, high tends toward scaling), pH (low tends toward calcium hungry, high tends toward scaling), and calcium levels (low tends toward calcium hungry, high tends toward scaling). There’s a thing called the Langlier Saturation Index that takes all these factors into consideration, weights them appropriately, then spits out a number that tells you how balanced your water is (good range is somewhere between +.1 and -.1, anything outside of this and we want to make some adjustments). You can drain part of the pool water and add fresh to bring calcium levels down, you can lower alkalinity a bit. You can also lower pH but this will affect swimmer comfort and could cause damage to pool equipment if lowered too low for too long. Unless you have a heater or heat pump, it’s pretty tough to manage temperature. So after all that, the short answer is drain part of the water out and add fresh. That’s the simplest thing, then you can just keep all the other stuff in range and have non irritating water!
I like how you are more concerned about bleaching the liner with di-chlor than your hand and arm stirring, we didn’t even see you rinse off. DUDE! Careful what you teach.
As a new above ground pool owner, I am noticing that my chlorine floater sits in the same spot (along the edge of the pool) when the pump is not running. I am concerned that it will affect my pool liner over time (sitting near the wall). Should I keep the floater in the pool all the time even when the pump is not running? Any suggestions are appreciated.
That’s our primary go to as well, if you don’t already know, Algaetec and pool tec are the exact same, the only difference is a different label and the price!
Sorry about the fall. I'm glad you were able to shrub it off.
Am I supposed to be doing all of this when I first put my pool up? How often am I supposed to this?

Yeah, acid will find any little cuts, scrapes, or bug bites and then start giving you love. A simple rinse like you did is the remedy.
Love your pool, where did you get it?
My dentist loves your channel.
great video: so brush your pool like you brush your teeth - ONCE A WEEK!!! LOLOLOLOL. ill let my dentist know.

It’s the actual granules and moisture that will really do damage to your skin, not so much brief contact in solution. But yeah, lol you got a point
can you just come and
do my pool please...
Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll update the lonks
I like skill it but it makes too many bubbles if a customers pool has any kind of water features
That is true.
Swimming Pool Science so I stick with Algatech but it is expensive.

Swimming Pool Science ahhh ok I’ll price pool tec
Good video but still didnt understand 90% of it.
Basic???
Wheres the shock... when you first filled pool
We “shock” with Dichlor in stead of Cal-hypo (what’s normally referred to as shock) to bring the CYA and Chlorine up at the same time.
