Expedia charges you the moment you book, twice. Then a week later you MAY get refunded without customer support. Booking dies not charge until you check in and no problems with modifications or refunds, no double charge on the cc.

Yes, but you’re still overpaying on booking vs booking directly with the hotel.

@@antiguacapilla ohhh No way, Booking they have deals! And the points system is great, you get a free stay every few stays. By the end of our month long trip we were paying $19 a night. Seriously I am a retired traveler and this is right from my app, sometimes I cant believe how cheap the rooms are.

Wont call it a scam or hack, Expedia doesn't guarantee the lowest price. Direct or indirect you should compare precise.

Indeed, your point is well taken. Whether booking directly or through a third-party platform like Expedia, it's crucial to compare prices diligently. While Expedia provides convenience and a diverse selection of options, it's wise to conduct thorough research and compare prices across various platforms to secure the most favorable deal. Being savvy during the booking process is paramount to ensure optimal value for our money. Your insights are appreciated and serve as a valuable reminder to thoroughly explore all options before finalizing a booking. Thank you for sharing your perspective!
