Lewis that is a good question, I know it works fine on the 2016 HRV, which is what me and HRVex has. I can do some research and see what I can find out for you...
I've been trying to get the Firestick to work in my 2019 civic. Nothing displayed, also tried a phone connected to the HDMI..again nothing displayed. Any ideas?
First, are you trying it when the gear shift is in park? It will not work while driving, so you have to do some fancy foot work to make that happen. Go to this link from HRVex (ruclips.net/video/uec-ZsnJoQE/видео.html) in the description he point out all the steps and I want to give him credit for it. Let me know.
It's working now, so I have to select hdmi in the source menu and then press audio at the top where it has 3 buttons map, audio and another. I would have thought simply selecting HDMI in the source menu would be all that is required.
Alexander Katriz 1) Hold the power button, the eject button, and the home button at the same time for about 3 seconds until you see a menu with two options which are self-diagnosis mode and detail information and setting. Press the detail information and setting. 2) Now press the menu button on the left (under volume) for about 5 seconds until you see the screen that says fan setting, volume setting, vehicle model information and etc. 3) Press the vehicle model information. 4) Press the DD VSP error button and turn it off. 5) Press the return button until you reach your home screen. 6) Go to Audio menu and choose HDMI and enjoy. Note: you have to do this every time you restart your HRV.
Yes it does, you will need to connect the Fore TV stick to your mobile hotspot on your phone. When the Fire Stick ask for the network connection, just choose your hot spot instead.
Chard The Tech Guy ah! That’s awesome! It must be location specific or something because my $45/25gig plan does not allow hotspot. It’s very tempting to upgrade to the $55 plan which includes 10gigs of hotspot with Unlimited mobile data. Thank you for replying! Very helpful video as well :)
@@OPRoadtoRecovery I'm sorry, yes you are right the extra 10 GB is on the $55 plan, but you can turn on hotspot on your phone (if option is available, I do on mine) and use it on the $45 plan until the it runs out, trust me i do all the time. So far I haven't use it all up from month to month. Whenever that time comes I will probably upgrade to the $55 plan. Thank you for the compliments.
