Man, i WORK in a hospital, every day i see these nurses mistreat patients, make fun of them to coworkers, and just genuinely suck. And its way more of them then most would expect
What's your job in the hospital?
They work a career with ungrateful patients who only care about themselves....eventually they get tired of others only caring about themselves lol Teachers feel the same. Retail workers for the same. Moms wish they could feel same lol
No professional cares because cx/px and management don't care about them. It really hits over time the older you get. Eventually, you just disassociate with it all because at the end of the day, a job/career is only for financial gain for most of us. None of us like to work except 1% of people who jumped into a career that is truly something they are passionate about. And even then, patience is tried.
I went from being a yes man and pleaser to just not having any emotional ties to what happens at work. Best decision ever. Lol

I worked at a children's hospital. The amount of nurses that never apologized for their mistakes, let alone acknowledging their errors, was more than you would assume.
I think people who treat patients are trained not to. As they can be sued for verbally admitting their mistakes (similar to not apologizing for a traffic accident). Then that training bleeds over into the rest of their daily lives and habits.

As someone that works in healthcare, I can completely agree that some of these nurses are just nurses for the money. And thats fine, get your money but DO YOUR JOB!!! I’ve seen patients give concerns about their health to nurses and some nurses don’t care and won’t do anything or make them wait until they’re off the phone or done eating when they’re not even on break and unfortunately the patient pass the next day. The shit is sickening. Shout out to the nurses who actually do their job and have a passion for it
Most nurses just do it for the money which i agree is fine but most of them don't do their jobs. In Canada it is extremely hard to successfully sue any medical staffers
nursing student here. I'm going to say something that will get downvoted but I have to be honest. The reason nursing care is awful is because the field is mostly women. I'm a male in nursing and the vast majority of female nurses do not want to do any work. They even cheat their way through school. They have some of the worst work ethic I've ever seen, would rather just be on social media accounts and seriously have a lack of empathy problem in general. Don't get me wrong, most men don't necessarily have empathy either, but they are more likely to understand its a job that they are paid to do so they should atleast work hard while they're there. I've seen women prolong their breaks and take hours while patients are in pain screaming. It pisses me off.
Why is that fine? Where is the humanity? Where is the care and concern for our fellow man/woman? Granted there's always going to be wicked selfish narcissistic individuals in this world but we shouldn't let that slide so easy. They need to be held accountable especially working in a serring where care is utmost priority. I'm not attacking you btw. Just ranting about these heartless individuals.

I worked in maintenance at the night shift in one of the biggest hospitals in Puerto Rico. I was mopping the floor and picking up the trash in the aisle called TICU and I overheard a couple of nurses talking about how they let a patient die while he was asking for help because nobody wanted to attend to him. Never heard a reason throughout the whole conversation. It chilled me to the bone how they casually talk about ignoring dying patients. Patients who are unable to move and are AWAKE AND are unable to clean their own asses.
Damm some people are just fucked

I work in EMS and I can tell you this is accurate. Nursing home nurses are another breed, too.

I’m a CDL delivery driver. First time delivering to a particular nursing home (healthcare & rehab). Clueless of where to drop off the food, the elderly told me to ask the lady at the front desk. She was on her phone chatting. I stood there patiently as she ignored me for an entire minute. The ELDERLY PEOPLE had to eventually point me in the correct direction.
@LeikkLeikk imagine someone who doesn't even remember their own name having to give you directions. "Thanks Ethel! I'd push your wheelchair into bingo for you, but this package is urgent."
Yeah imagine being one nurse responsible for 30 plus patients. Not humanly possible to care for so many. That's why I'll never work at a nursing home again. Btw if something goes wrong the nurse is at fault and will take full responsibility. Not the facility. No one cares how many patients that nurse was required to take. But you can't say no if you want that check. Best to find other employment
@midnightprizm1583 My grandmother is in a nursing home and after realizing that one side of her face was sagging, they admitted her to the ER. At first my family and I believed she may have had a stroke, but turns out it was the result of her blood pressure being elevated due to the nursing staff not giving her her blood pressure medication when they were supposed to. When asked about her condition, the nursing home staff claimed "oh, her face always looks that way." No, it damn well doesn't. She couldn't smile or talk and tried singing at the church service and was unable to.
OMG... I'm a medical interpreter, I have seen nurses seeing patients who can barely breathe sooo many unnecessary questions and getting mad cause they can't answer... I once almost jumped a nurse cause there was this lady in FREAKING LABOR, screaming in pain, and she kept asking with an annoyed face if there was any history of colon cancer in her family, she said she did not know, and the nurse had the nerve to tell her she could not register her in to be treated if she could not answer all her q's... I have to disagree. I was in the hospital for a month during the height of covid after my appendix burst causing me a life threatening bout of sepsis. Obviously, I could have no visitors. It was pretty touch and go weeks and I had to undergo 3 separate surgeries. My nurses, every last one, were so kind. They did their best to raise my spirits. I had IVs in both arms and could not move without assistance or have solid food for weeks. I kept having complications and I really thought I might never get out of there. About 3 weeks in, when I was at my lowest, one nurse snuck me down to the lobby so I could briefly see my husband. She arranged it all on her own. It was a complete surprise. I will NEVER forget their names or their kindness to me.

I went to my local ER for complaints of memory loss. They checked me in (after I waited for a lifetime) and they needed a urine sample. I couldn't provide the sample, but was also denied water or food (we don't know what tests the doctor will want to run so we can't give you food or drink Ms. Scott). So after I begin to drink my own spit, I can provide a urine sample. Those nurses were giddy about my urine sample, talking openly about it in my earshot!
I work in human services. It's an uncomfortable field; you hear and witness troubling scenarios and information. But dammit NEVER USE YOUR PATIENTS/CLIENTS/CONSUMERS AS YOUR PUNCHING BAG!! Watch some Griffy instead honestly!
But in all seriousness, being in the ER as a mentally ill autistic person fucking sucks. I hate being in the ER. I hate the dismissal and rudeness of some nurses and social workers who don't appreciate my life experience. I hate being laughed at when I am in pain. If you don't like people, don't do human service work. Don't be a nurse, a social worker, because the work requires a high state of life and if you don't have it, it fucking shows. I wish more people were not afraid to call the nurses, etc out in real-time. Because this is egregious how we see the doctors and nurses as gods but they don't care about us, apparently unaware they could be on the other side of the damn desk or operating bed, needing the assistance and respect we so desperately fight for from them.
Sorry for the rant, but oof. Too true. More compassion is needed in healthcare, and for crying out loud, please don't get in it if you're not serious.

The barbers of the medical world
Yeah, any workplace is going to have those few that don't give a shit. Even for doctors, the amount of deaths due to just medical negligence and malpractice is a few hundred thousand a year. Actually more than deaths by cops. But lets be honest, as much as there are shitty medical staff, there are tons more shitty people that come in to the hospital for stupid stuff. More specifically the ED. Something as small as tylenol can fix a lot of issues but these people insist on getting immediate care for something so small while simultaneously taking potential resources from a person that could come in who's actually dying. Then there are people who think using an ambulance will bypass the 10 hour wait time into the ED then find out there are other people just in need as them and left waiting. TONS of people use the ED when they're matters are more appropriate for urgent care. And because it's a hospital, they can't turn away anyone who needs medical help. Yeah, there are a lot of nurses who are shit, just like every profession. But let's not act like every patient who comes in is a saint either.
I honestly hate how accurate this is.
Sorry but temu sucks and is akin to a scam. Whatever you get will be trash. Its like wish but somehow worse.
Hilarious yet true fact: this actually happened to me. Got stabbed outside a club in west hollywood 2 days before christmas and bled on an ER floor for 18 hours before getting seen.
So you died? Come on now.
