I'm a fan of the little wood stove too. I use mine all of the time as it's not often that I need a full on fire. I keep it in a stuff sack half filled with dry wood chippings etc and it is bloody brilliant - takes no time at all to get a brew sorted. Great vids,! Cheers!

Hi Steve, yes they are a great stove. Neat idea about keeping the wood chips in with the stove. I might give that a try. Always nice to get a quick brew going :) Some people also like to use wooden cat litter pellets in them too. I've never tried it, but you could try keeping a small bag in with the stove. Thanks for watching Steve, all the best, Mark :)

Fantastic offering as usual Mark! Your original review of the 5.11 Rush 72 was the deal maker in me buying one. I was fortunate to find a sale of the multicam model for $125 USD. Fantastic pack even at full price! Blue skies to you, keep up the strong work.

Thank you so much for NOT being another Amazon link-pimp brother!
I have zero problems with when people use affiliate links but theres no excuse for using amazon especially here in the UK.
By the way, I also support the guys over at three trees, albeit I only ever bought one item as of yet, it was the waxed canvas bag for my 12cm zebra billy, it doubles again as a dump pouch when fungi foraging etc. Quality stuff and cant wait till I can part with some more money to get the belt forage dump pouch!
Cheers, glad I found and subscribed to ya

Out of all the gear and insightful thought expressed there Mark it was the socks that stood out for me. You're right they get you in and out of the wood. A fantastic brand to be fair - I purchased some Gelert socks the other day - opposite end of the market I think. They're robust though and fell good on the feet. Good going - I smile every time. Hi Karl (fellow southern hemispherian!) if you like watching gear vids could you let me know what you look for in videos? Im thinking of re-doing my gear in a set of videos and just dont know should I split it all up into groups (cook gear seperated with rucksack and load bearing, clothing etc) ?
Also what about video length, do you like long and informative or shorter and to the point? etc?
Thanks man, Saffa living in UK

Hi Mark! I hope everything is well. Nice look at some items you use. I love my wood gas stove (pretty similar to yours). Just yesterday I was in the nearby woods at made myself some pasta and porridge for dessert. I also made an upside down fire. It worked fantastic. Have a nice week mate! ATB André

Hi Andre, I hope you are having a nice weekend brother :) I hope you are had better weather than we are having here. It been non stop rain and gales for the past two days. I will have to try making porridge on the stove. I used to eat quite a lot of it, but went over to the microwavable ones. I don't think they will work lol. Enjoy the rest of the weekend mate, all the best, Mark :)

Yet another great video brother. After watching your video, I checked out the Enzo knife selection on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised at the price. I don't own one yet, but I may look into one soon. I have two very similar stoves to the one you are showing here with the Lixada brand name on them, plus some folding ones, also by Lixada. I'm very happy with each one of them, but I do prefer the "wood gas" stoves such as the one you're showing here. They just burn so efficiently and I've never had any trouble with the flames blowing out with them. I also like the ease of setup with this type of stove. I think they're both made at the same factory. I do have some other items that carry the Tomshoo brand on them and they seem to be of the same quality as Lixada. You can't beat the price with either.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. You always provide great content.

Hi Eric, I hope you are keeping well brother :) Yes I was also surprised by the cost of the Enzo knives. They make quite a few nice versions and another model called the Trapper is another nice fixed blade. Your right, I think a lot of these stoves are coming out of the same factories. Lixda seem to be very popular. Like you say, they all seem to look very similar and have the same build quality.
Always a pleasure catching up with you, have a great week, all the best, Mark :)

Hi mark hope your well. That was a good video buddy. I like the look of that enzo. What was that little axe you were using. I have the hultafors classic hunting axe, it's a good axe but it's a bit over kill for my needs out in the woods. All the best. chris

Hi Chris, I hope you are having a nice weekend mate :) The small axe is a Robin Wood carving axe. They are really good for the money. I paid £39 for it. You can pay an extra £10 and he will make you a leather mask for it. Or it just comes with a plastic edge protector. I made mine out of some 4mm veg tan. I will leave you a link to them so you can take a look. Cheers Chris, all the best, Mark. wood-tools.co.uk/tools/the-robin-wood-axe/

    Hi Mark.
Absolutely great channel and well thought out and produced videos. Really glad I found your content. I’m currently working my way through your past stuff.
Just one question, if you don’t mind. I am curious as to the location where you film the majority of your videos. I don’t mean the specific place, as I’m sure you wouldn’t want anyone to know that but more the type of woodland/forest where you are. Is it public land or private. Not a lot of places, around my way at least where you could be undisturbed to get on with what you wanted and light fires in woodland unfortunately.
Maybe you just walk a long way into a big forest...
    Cheers.

Hi Phillip, many thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos :) Some of the videos are filmed in private woods, but the majority are public woodlands like the forestry commission own. If the woods are popular and busy, then I tend to go further in, or find areas that are hard to get to. Most people like to stick to the paths anyway, so you only need to find an area that takes a bit of effort to reach and most people don't go there. If you drive, then looking at maps of woodland not too far away is how I found the ones I use. Then it is time and leg work trying to locate the areas that suit you, but far enough away from the crowds :) I hope this helps :) All the best, Mark.

I case no one ever told you, you have something of a foreign accent (Sorry. I live in Colorado, USA). Do you have any idea how many times I have to re-wind and listen to what you said a couple of times to understand what you said? I love it. Great videos. Glad to see you hit the 5K mark. And you're probably one of the main reasons I have a Rush 72.

Hi reb0254, lol, yes I often get told that my English accent isn't English enough lol. The further north you travel, the more difficult the accent. You are lucky I'm in the midlands :) I will have to try and slow things down. Thank you as always for taking the time to watch and for the great comment :) Have a great weekend my friend, all the best, Mark :)
