So, pleased our tax forms are automatically done by IRD in NZ now. Even many years ago when we did our own, it wasn't that big a deal, it was very straightforward from what I can remember.
The main issue is that the US taxes based on citizenship, not based on where you live or make your money. I'm perfectly happy paying taxes to where i make my money and where i live, but the fact that since I have a US passport, i have to file taxes every year is kind of stupid
Maybe one day our taxes will be less complicated, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. I hate doing them as it is and I don’t have a business to run.

For most people in NZ, tax returns are a total non event. Isn't the USA meant to be a modern, efficient country? Seems not.....
