This was amazing to see, especially the pre-race! Such care, passion and effort put into this!! Thank you everyone for making this happen, what a great show of teamwork and love
I remember when in 1989 I was testing a sim set-up as a SCCA Solo 2 and Northern California Sports Car Council (NCSCC) Autocross Hotshoe and people laughed at me for practicing on a "Computer". Another guy you might know (Emerson Fittipaldi won in 1989 and 1993) was also practicing on the same set-up I had and he won the Indy 500 around that time and I won 7 Championships in 3 years. People stopped laughing.

Wow, iracing is even better than codemaster, no bugs or crashes, just clean gameplay
Grew up not far from Watkins Glen. Loved it from jump. 46:50 Commentator is spot on about why it is beloved and how to build a great track. ABSOLUTELY agree!
Congrats Sage and everyone else for putting this together and participating. Looking forward to Robert and Hinch getting in the mix. Well produced guys. Best produced virtual race so far.
Great race! While I'm anxious for the return of the real thing, this was entertaining and it was great to see the Red Cross being involved. I can't wait for Race #2!
Ryan Hellyer for some reason they insist on using their code master game, which can be good fun, but isn’t really a pro quality sim. It’s especially obvious when you can directly compare it to iRacing :|. Really wish F1 would use iRacing.
Indy has to promote and do this kind of race again 112k views. It grows the sport with the youth and these guys have to give up 1 hr of there time at home comeon man. Do it for the youth all they care about is games
iRacing has a halo car? None that I can find in current build. If they put this out there just for the Flu crowd, even more Kudo’s. iRacing is cranking out great work, even in these interesting times.
This really put what F1 did to shame. Using a sim with realistic setting, making sure, that almost all of the real drivers are in it, doing a full race. Much better than a 25% race with only 2 actual F1 drivers in a sim-Cade with “reduced damage”.
Does indycar have a licensed game out there? iRacing doesn't have an F1 car which pretty much makes it unsuable for F1 and licensing deals might make it impossible to have one too.
@@dwerg85 Yeah, it's F1's own fault for charging so much license-fee that iRacing didn't buy it. There's basically a monopoly for F1-Games and it's owned by Codemasters. So F1 2019 is basically their only option to do this on now.
@@dwerg85 Also because iRacing needs access to, and data from, an actual F1 car. This is due to the detailed modeling employed by iRacing that requires real data and laser scanning of the actual car. As you can imagine, F1 teams are rather reluctant to grant access to their creations, especially not their current or recent designs. Licensing is one thing, but detailed physical access and setup data however, is another matter. This is essentially what sets iRacing apart from other "sims", its unrivialled level of realistic modelling and detailed setup accurancy. "As real as it gets", as they say at iRacing. But yes, licensing income is also a major factor, and most would agree that money is better invested elsewhere by iRacing, such as in their laser-scanning of circuits, and the vast collection of Race Cars from so many different disciplines. ;)
This and the eNASCAR has been great fun races to watch with really good presentation, I can't say the same about Codemasters hosting that F1 race, that was beyond awful.
EXCELLENT JOB IndyCar and iRacing, thank you for the race.

Yo, Paul Tracy, greetings from Vancouver, BC.....I'm 63 and have watched you from your start!!!!

@mandem Many real life pro drivers use iRacing. Not sure how using a simulator aimed at drivers, not aimed at children makes you a "poin dexter:...

That was fun! Great work iRacing, NBCSports, and IndyCar!

That was class. Slick presentation
Thanks iRacing, the drivers and commentators for giving us some racing to watch in these strange times!
Nice to watch. Thanks for hosting. +1 for Bathurst, race 6. Or maybe the Nordschleife :)
Wish they had cameras on some of the drivers in there rig.
I think that will happen the more they do this. The V8 supers cars one should have all that by the sounds of it
Haha, yah I wish. I can image drivers would hate it.
Thank you INDYCAR and the Red Cross for the fun diversion.
Doesn't look or sound quite real, but still surprisingly good and entertaining. It's scratching my itch.

ty iracing this was awesome...I loved the pre race!!!
Awesome! This is great!
This is super cool to watch these race driver.
Thoroughly impressive event. Thanks IndyCar!
F1 needs to watch and learn. Their equivalent race was a farce by comparison.

Was great to see Jimmie Johnson take part in this race!

Good race enjoyed it!!!!
I thought Scott Speed was banned from IRacing.
I think he was just suspended and then he sold his rig
Still rage quit...
Suspended. Rage quit. Came back.
We need a little graphic on screen to tell us if we are watching a replay

Thanks for this iRacing and IndyCar! Fun race!
Is there any way to show footage of the pit stops from the in-car view?
you mean so you can see the animations? pretty sure its all client side animations
Put Paul Tracy and Montoya in!
Heck yeah

What happened with the F1 race?
I wish Iracing was on Mac
Did Scott Speed wreak the field and rage quit?
I liked this vid purely for that national anthem performance lol
Where is Rinus Veekay?
Is this on tv
Nope - unless you have Twitch
Huskenveld ???
"Let's pray..."
Fast forward! Og F***! The anthem. FAST FORWARD!
That needed a caution
Yellow flag plice
These guys need training in proper microphone usage and audio setup. This is unbearable to listen to.
How did I know Sage Karam would win
When they said at the start there would be no cautions and all the setups are the same
