Haha, you're never too old! I must admit the Links car park at Bamburgh is an ideal stopover. It would have been nice to access the other car parks but no worries it is still a great place to visit. Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you. We love being at the coast as it is all about our childhood memories growing up so close to the beach at Sunderland. We just love the sea air
hi folks nice vlog in some stunning places I'm new to your channel and have a lot of respect for you both for not letting your condition stop you both my wife has fibro and had a brain tuma removed last October so we are getting out there 👍
Hi, thank you for your kind words. We love being out and about as much as we can. It's so easy to just sit suffering with aches and pains. But trying to stay positive and getting out is a bit of a distraction and helps take your mind off the pain most of the time. I hope your wife is doing ok after her operation and hopefully, they managed to remove all of the tuma. Fibromyalgia is no fun either, Allison was diagnosed a few years back and it is such a strange condition to have and affects everyone differently. Wishing you both well for the future, stay strong and positive ❤
Thanks for the comments and your concern for my nose after my aviation accident 🤣the cooking area at the back works a treat. It was actually designed to hold the cushions in place due to the U shape set-up we have. It then became a bench and then a cooking area.
Love Bamburgh & St Abbs. It actually says on the signs in the car park at the Links Bamburgh & on the council website that you are not allowed to cook, camp or set up items outside of the van. We were told that the empty space next to each numbered space was for safety reasons.
@@mariaschusler8280 oops, must have missed that on the sign, thanks for clarifying. Both Bamburgh and St Abbs are fantastic places to visit and a must for anyone that has never been.
Hi, Northumberland and in particular Bamburgh is an amazing place with stunning beaches and a very impressive castle. It's a shame we couldn't get on the sandy part of the beach due to the parking restrictions but we still had a great time. Haha, my cooking corner! the tea was really tasty.
It seems to be the norm now, about parking for campers and motorhomes. I have mobility issues (thanks to fibro) and the amount of places we've been in the motorhome that have parking restrictions does my F##]!n? head in. Shame on all these seaside town council's, (and there's many I could name). They've obviously got no understanding regarding this matter. A very loud BOO 👎 Thanks for posting the video, I won't be visiting due to this parking 💩
Hi, thanks for your comment. It is a shame that councils tend not to accommodate campers and motorhomes. They are all missing out on additional business and additional funds, I am sure there is a high percentage of camper and motorhome owners who would happily pay for parking and access. I'm sorry to hear you have Fibromyalgia, Allison has this condition and it really does make daily living difficult. Hopefully, like us, you take advantage of getting out in the camper and enjoy as much as you can while you can. Wishing you well ❤
Northumberland council had to put the barriers in because for weeks and months at a time, travellers would fill these car parks with caravans and motorhomes and horse boxes basically making them un accessible for the public.
All the restrictions set up along the Wynding in Bamburgh are not the doing of Northumberland Country Council. The restrictions are imposed by Bamburgh Castle Estates, these were put in place to deter visitors that regularly leave a mess!
Hi, Thank you for your comments. Northumberland County Council and The Bamburgh Parish imposed the double yellow lines along the Winding so If I'm wrong about who imposed the height restrictions then I apologise. I completely agree with the double yellow lines as they prevent thoughtless parking from Cars, vans, campers and motorhomes. Thoughtless parking is unacceptable and dangerous. However, the height restrictions in the two car parks along the Winding are wrongly directed and discriminate against a larger vehicle. The mess that may have been identified in the past such as rubbish and human waste is more likely from cars full of adults, younger drivers or those with young families. How many times have you driven along a road and seen a car throw the rubbish out of the window, or passed someone holding the child off the ground while they do their business. Most campervans and Motorhomes are self-contained with a toilet/portaloo etc and will take their rubbish with them when they leave. I understand some camper owners may be less respectful than others and that's a shame as it tarnishes the rest of us. The issue with the height barrier is that it does not stop cars full of adults and kids wanting the loo and does not stop smaller campervans from parking up. So this is 100% discriminating against larger vehicles and not actually solving any of the issues that have been mentioned. I believe more thought should have gone into introducing the barriers before wasting money. Introduce pay-to-park, pay for overnight parking and police the car parks. Thanks again
@HimHerandtheDogs as a local to the Bamburgh area it annoys me no end the restrictions on parking along the Winding, but I've witnessed first hand what some visitors get upto, in both car and camper. We regularly used to head there for an evenings chill out and a meal in the van, but the restrictions have put an end to that, we now go elsewhere! I've spoken with Bamburgh Castle Estates with view of them lifting some of the barriers and blockages, all I can say is, don't hold your breath on anything happening anytime soon.
Hi Paul, thanks for your comments although not very detailed in your comment. There may be enough Blue Badge parking around Northumberland but this wasn't the issue. The height barriers are the issue. They have been installed and actually fail to resolve any issues raised by local residents concerning rubbish, human waste etc. As I mentioned in another comment, I completely agree with the double yellow lines and any genuine restrictions that deter poor, thoughtless, disrespectful and dangerous parking. Thanks again
This was a fantastic trip even with the Bamburgh parking problem. St Abbs is amazing. Have you been?
The last time we were at Bamburgh, the car park was just gravel. Showing me age noo like. 😂

Sound OK. Brings back memories for us. Cheers from old George and Jane. Happy Adventures and we will keep watching. ❤

Brilliant… love that idea in the back of the van to cook .. love that area ❤ awww your poor nose man lol

such a beautiful place to wake up, too bad you couldn't park where you wanted to with all the restrictions. Tea looked good.

You don’t live here. Good for NCC. There’s enough blue badge parking around Northumberland.

Karen’s in caravans, worse than taxi drivers.
