  • A stay at the Flagg Hall Farm Caravan & Motorhome Club Certificated Location in our 2012 Burstner Nexxo T660 motorhome. I attend the 65th anniversary celebration of the Peak District Mines Historical Society and the weekend is rounded off with an underground trip into a flooded mine level on Sunday. The Engwe Engine -X proves to be the perfect solution to getting around whilst I was there.

    Looks like you were in your element there mate, I’m sure like me when adding a hobby video to the channel you have to fight with yourself on the length and how much to leave in (I know I do with my trains) but I enjoyed every minute of that, it fascinates me what our ancestors did and some of the hidden secrets underground. Thanks for showing us. 👍

      Glad you enjoyed the video, you're absolutely right, I've got loads more footage I left out and I suspect I've still got a little too much there for a lot of people. 🤔

    We stayed there last year and thought it was super. We did the Magpie Mine and walked down Lathkill Dale. LOts of old mines and industrial heritage about there. Some nice pubs walkable from Flagg Hall as well.

    Thanks for sharing the trip, it brought back some soggy memories. I went in 89 when we (DCRO) were helping to search for the murder weapon used in the Taddington A6 murder. We were tasked with looking for anything suspicious in the shaft area, which was still accessible then. I had no idea there were any accessible workings at all. So thanks for showing them, they look quite impressive with so much intact timbering.

      Must have been nice to be able to get right to the shaft even if technically 'working'. When I first went in 2010 the route through to the shaft was already blocked but there were more of the workings accessible. We actually turned around back then before reaching an end, mainly because of the state of the floor beneath us.
