23:36 Interesting perspective. I understand what you mean. I myself don’t enjoy noise music so listening to the previews of crush was quite jarring. I was so scared I would hate it but the more I listened the more I loved it. I personally feel like it’s a bit too early to judge what direction they’re going in since they’re a brand new group and it is quite normal for groups to experiment with their sound. I understand that everyone wants them to be different and their sound does set them apart from other boy groups but we really can’t tell at this point. We still have a another 2 years with them! I’m sure they’ll produce another bright title track.
Agree! I think it’s a bit early to say things like it’s “their fault” or making it sound like someone is to blame simply because their concept changed, which is completely on-par for most groups, into something she personally is not a fan of.
If they do more bright songs that isn’t gonna help. We gonna have another case like Kepler. A group with an inconsistent sound. Another group of the bunch. It makes them immediately blend with the rest of the boy groups. And it’s the reason girl groups do so much better. Because they diverse and unique. The only group that dosent di that and that what are my favourite is txt.
@@Hili313 Funny you mention that because the only other group I stann is Txt. That’s why I have no problem with them switching concepts. I think the overall problem would be Wakeone not knowing the right balance when switching concepts, but as far as I’m concerned it’s just another concept switch.
@@Hili313 Can you explain to me the problem, I’m a little confused. You said you don’t want them to switch concepts frequently because they’ll sound like Kep1er and have an inconsistent sound but then you also said that girl groups do better because their sound is diverse.
I think this concept suits them more. All of the members mentioned how the next concept they wanted to do after “In Bloom” was a dark concept. And like you mentioned all of Zb1 did a dark concept during Boys Planet. They are versatile but this seems like a concept that showcases everyone’s strengths well!
This might be a hot take but crush suits the group way more than in bloom. They've been begging for a darker concept and theyre all fans of the song. Plus it would be a massive shame for them to not change their concept since they have so little time as a group. Crush, they will never make me hate you.
i don't trust idols who all universally say the title track is their favorite. they have to say that. it's bad PR to say anything else. when they say something, like i think hao just did, like "i liked melting point first but now i like crush," or like a couple of other members did, "i like good night but i also like crush," i am reading between the lines.
@@Kekekekenn i think saying you don't like certain concept photos and saying you don't like the title track you're going to be promoting for weeks and is the reason people buy your album and stream your mv and go to music shows and is what you're reliant on to bring in new fans are a little bit different
I wasnt too sure if I'd like crush based on the preview and I was actually surprised that I didn't mind the chorus beat drop. The song really grew on me the more I listened to and I love it now. Also they definitely love doing this types of concepts and they suit it as well
honestly i always end up laughing when i see anyone's reaction to the crush beat drop the first time despite really liking the song myself loool but if you're worried about them keeping the darker concept throughout their entire run, I highly doubt wakeone will do that especially given the fandom and public's mixed reaction 😅 and groups can keep their identity with a variety of concepts (seventeen, newjeans, red velvet, etc) ALSO i agree with what you said about wanting taerae to sing lower. wakeone keeps giving them high songs and obviously they have the ability to do them really well but i feel like taerae and hao's voices are much richer and fuller in their mid/lower voices and i hope wakeone shows more of their versatility on the next album...
i don't trust wakeone with the members themselves, but when it comes to builiding an actual identity for the group they're already doing wayyyy more than they ever did for kep1er where they were just throwing concepts at a wall and hoping one would stick @@vampr3751
I completely understand your opinion! It was quite surprising for me too! But I don’t think this is gonna be their only concept for now. W1 is known for changing concepts every comeback.. like just a look at kep1ers title tracks is enough to tell.. i just don’t think happy boy music truthers should loose hope cause knowing w1 they’ll definitely have more brighter concepts in the future.
We had very similar reactions for our first listen haha. I understand your points completely. I'm usually tired and cranky when I first listen to releases, so things like the part in Melting Point you mentioned and the odd rap-speaking parts did irk me a bit, but I'm really liking the songs as I'm listening to them more. There was definitely a lot of discourse about the "Pots and Pans." I too could have gone without them lol. I kind of knew that after debuting with such a bright concept, their next one would be darker. I know they are a new group trying lots of different things which i think is cool. The members are excited to showcase more of their performance skills and darker vibes. I think the group suits the image really well. I think watching boys planet, as long and arduous as it is, will give you a better perspective. You can always just watch the parts the members are in if that makes it easier.
I commend you for honesty tho' , not all reactors will say the things they don't like, it's all praise most of the time. I'm not a fan, but I like the boys vocals and visual. I'm just here to check their songs.
I think the members have been vocal on wanting to do dark concept with this comeback and they did and pulled through, I mean like liking a song is always based on preference. But one thing I like with this comeback is you can see and hear the growth already
honestly i also liked in bloom more, crush was a good title track but I was really shocked when the dance break was the chorus, i really enjoyed the other parts in Crush but the dance break kind of ruined for me. Still the B-sides are really amazing and the boys worked really hard on the album so i'm looking forward for the coming albums!
I feel like i wouldve liked it more if it didnt have that instrumental part in the chorus and just had the second part of the chorus, the song would be even better! But saying that, now that ive listened to it more than one time i actually like it lol.
i feel the same thing actually, i just hoped all the chorus is just like the final chorus, i also feel so relieved when the final chorus don't have "that part", so i could enjoy it better
I get you. That dance break instrumental was really harsh to me. They could have used a type of sound that fit more with the rest of the parts, but it's kinda nice too, so it's not too bad.
i hated the beat drop and was unnecessary they should've put that beat drop part for the outro dance break. but this song and mv, concept and the whole album is much better than in bloom (not a fan of bright concept and sound). and they're temporary group they should try variety of concepts. btw this song is not even noise music, stop calling every beat drop or typical bg music noise music
I actually think In Bloom suits all the members more with the exception of Gunwook and maybe Hanbin. Hanbin only becuase he bodies this concept he kinda fits both
it's not you! i also was really disappointed by crush. like it has grown on me but in bloom was such a lovely cohesive fresh song and crush is so.... generic 4th gen boy band lazy songwriting. i wish they had done something like melting point as the title track! it would have been seasonally appropriate and more unique than this. edit: you said good night reminds you of exo's winter albums and i just had the same thought lol i was going to say i could imagine them promoting good night like exo did miracles in december.
