I’ve noticed a trend in these playoffs with the refs in any series that supposed to be a “good matchup”. Next time you watch the game pay attention to the types of calls and when they happen. If the game is within 8 points or so, the refs let everyone be more physical in a “playoff basketball” type of way, but the second a team goes up 10 or more, especially in the first half, they start calling any and everything that is technically a foul on the team that’s up to keep the game close. I noticed this in the bucks Celtics series that was super physical until a team started getting a lead, it was super prevalent with the Celtics Heat series and Jimmy Butler seemed to be aware bc he would start driving every play and going to the line no matter what, and it was there in the warriors grizzlies series too. If Boston or Golden state goes up quickly in game 3 I guarantee there will be a few bogus calls in a row to keep it close just like there was in game 2
I think the refs look at the second tech more like “should this player be ejected for this play” more than “should they get another tech.” I can understand both sides tbh
@@zaindixon9811 It wasn't a soft tech. I also hate those soft ejections but Draymond had like 5 positions that he could've gotten a tech and at that point he is just terrorizing the game and getting an unfair advantage out of it.

@@kaitsu77 if that was true they should call all the "carries" and essentially go back to the 50s style of play. People want the game of basketball to go back to being more lenient and let them play. Context of a situation effects the call and even then Draymond wouldn't have deserved that second tech cause he was quite literally getting up.
While true, I would argue Boston had all the momentum and were playing near perfectly. Then several questionable calls siphoned their momentum, put key players in foul trouble and through all that disrupted their rhythm. Boston shouldn't have let it get to them as badly as they did, but to say the officiating didn't play a huge role is crazy.
As a Celtics fan i personally the refs made the right call by not giving Draymond the tech. I was loving everything these 2 teams were giving us and losing dray wouldve hurt that. It wouldve taken a lot more for Draymond to get that ejection.
I wasn’t that annoyed by that play particularly, just the double standard. If brown does that, he’s getting a tech, even if he has 1. Selective enforcement helped Golden State, because they no call Draymond and call everyone else. If they didn’t call that kinda shit for anyone, sure, good. In this case though, if by every standard you have you are going to call it and then don’t bc you don’t want the player gone, the officiating is fucked
There were 2 definite points in this game the draymond could’ve definitely got a tech but the refs held his hand all night, that won’t happen in Boston if he acts a fool there
As a C’s fan I don’t think it would have changed the outcome but where dray trucked Grant and later it looked like he sat on Smart(off ball) before the Brown 3 point play it was easy to tell he basically saying I dare you to toss me
Yo I just wanna shout out Bjelica real quick, he gave the warriors song good first half minutes and got the inside game going when the Warriors were missing layups and shit
Tatum was displaying poor shot selection, wasn’t aggressive at all and it led to turnovers. Why he was shooting stepbacks over Poole (GSW’s worst defender) is beyond me. Draymond’s antics are the story but damn Tatum was awful.
The game was going to be resolved when Horford and Smart will show us their poor offensive consistency, Pritchard and White aren't going to be all 4th quarters Jordan and Pippen, Horford is not going to have the superstar games the entire series. It wasn't two losses in a row for Boston just because they came from behind in the 4th quarter of Game 1 with a superstar game from Horford. Draymond destroy Ime Udoka's narrative, the one in which he says that experience is overrated, Green shows his EXPERIENCE of how he knows that these matches are oficiated, proposing a physical and intense game. He enters on the mind of everyone he defends, Brown doesn't shoot comfortably, Tatum gives away dumb fouls, one-on-one defense makes passers believe shooters aren't going to get open shots. And it's not just Green, Curry and Kerr also showed it to them, they are not abusing PnR until things get complicated with a 2-0, but yesterday they decided at halftime to attack with PnR, destroying Udoka again with experience.
That's a great point about Draymond knowing how these games are officiated. Most casual fans sit and cry about fouls, not realising it's different in the playoffs, then different again in the finals.
I can’t wait for game 3. Outside of the 4th quarter in game 1 the Warriors have been the better team by far. But it’s still 1-1 going into Boston that’s all that matters. I smell a Grant Williams game but Klay is also ready to go off after those first 2 games
Boston players were trying to get Draymond ejected he was living rent free in Boston players and coach head 😂😂😂 by the time they stopped trying to ejected green they were down 30 😂😂😂😂
That first Draymond tech was kinda weak which is probably why they decided not to give him the second one. Ill admit he probably deserved the second one more than the first one lol
Draymond is the dude u love to have on ur team but hate when u play against him, which is evident by the fact that the Celtics have a smaller draymond on their team with Smart but they’re fine with him
I'm all with Draymond staying in the game, let these guys play, I actually think you should need 3 techs to get ejected in the finals, let it get spicy.
He should have got three tho 😂 he was playing football not Basketball. I hate how they let him get away with this shit when more mild dudes have on outburst and they get double t’d
Yeah not ejecting Green was the reason Celtics gave up 38 points off of TO's, Got pnr'd to hell by Steph and 3 of the guys who shot 80% from the 3 in 4th last game combined for less than 15 points. Celtics fans the new Rockets fans
Draymond green is almost the sole reason Steph gets those open shots tho, dude plays linemen and just shoved people out of stephs way. Turnovers u can argue but Steph getting open is basically all Draymond.
The Celtics didn’t play like trash, they played like they played an actual warriors team, the Celtics didn’t make any adjustments and the warriors have made adjustments
The Draymond Brown incident didn’t deserve double techs BUT Draymond shoved smart to the ground then laid on top of his and then knees him in the chin… no call, no foul. Disgraceful
That trying draw fouls thing definitely hurt them, a lot of those misses could’ve been makes if they weren’t looking for contact. And a lot of that gave the Dubs fast break opportunities which only gets guys like steph going.
All of a sudden people running out here calling the Celtics the more physical/bigger/aggressive team and now they are complaining about a Draymond green weak scuffle like he single handedly stole all their lunch money. Celtics reaching for a win no matter the cost eh?
NBA officiating has been the worst I've seen in these playoffs. That being said, the Celtics have benefitted from the whistle for most of these playoffs, so I don't want to hear any complaints from Boston fans.
We saw the second tech thing in the play in too, marcus morris and patrick beverley got matching techs but when the ref realized morris already had one earlier they went back and took the second one away so he didn't get ejected
Robert Williams gets hurt every other game bc he *just* had surgery and then came back to playing with virtually no recovery time…plus went straight into high intensity playoff basketball
The thing about the Draymond tech situation is that he already got a tech, so if he’s acting up again than clearly he didn’t learn his lesson and shouldn’t be held back from another one just because he already had one The fact that we have to have this conversation is crazy
I'm surprised that draymond hasn't had a second tech more in these playoffs. Through lots of the series, he has had plays/circumstances that were almost identical to the first tech. Same with a few other dudes in these playoffs.
The first tech is more of a warning while it will need a serious matter to kick a player out during the playoffs, especially a key player for a team. It would hurt the sport and viewership more than it would help.
There was certain calls that weren’t even called like when Draymond literally smacked his knee into Marcus Smart and there was no call. Boston was also icing out JT which was frustrating to watch because he was hitting more shots than last game
Tatum had a terrible shot selection. He should’ve focused on getting shots for his teammates instead of forcing contested jumpers over poor defenders like Poole.
@@09lowkey true on terrible shot selection but there was times where he was wide open and all they did was take it to the hoop with 3 guys in their way
@@kayziofficial It was a multitude of things, turnovers, lack of calls, bad shot selection, lack of aggression on offense, no shot making, Draymond no picking fights with the whole team. Boston had a bad game…lol
Boston turned the ball over way too much & went cold shooting, we can complain all day about calls, Tatum gets FTs every time he drives, Draymond gets a lot of leeway with his 2nd Ts, Curry doesn’t get enough calls when he drives, a couple of weird fouls went the Warriors way around the 2nd quarter, but none of that changes that the Warriors were up 30, this wasn’t a 2 point game decided by 1 call
draymond is incredibly smart, that’s why i BELIEVE the 2nd tech was necessary, this man is one of the kings of getting techs he understand better than anyone he can get away with that bullshit and other dirty stuff to get under the celtics nerves because they won’t throw him out or give him that 2nd tech because it’s a the NBA finals
Draymond did the same thing in the Mavs series.. he got a quick tech and was BEGGING for a 2nd one knowing damn well there was zero chance the refs were gonna give him one
7:34 Coach Kerr has to get Klay some easier looks earlier in the game, to try and get him in a rhythm. I don’t think the Warriors can win 3 more games with Klay playing this poorly.
Nba fans will see ONE bad call and say it decided the whole game and screwed the other team lol The Celtics lost because their offense sucked the second half. Straight up
@@bryceerickson6096 so we gonna ignore all those other games… almost 50 more free throws in 3 Boston games… taking a 3 away from Miami on a heavily debatable call AT BEST. Agree, reffing should be consistent and not based on if he got a tech earlier. That being said, why would we expect the reffing to make sense of be consistent!? The only think we know about the reffing is that is is never consistent and feels arbitrary. I mean, all these years later and steph still gets mauled off ball and nothing happens. I think we need to fire every ref, get all new refs that don't have ego issues and put technology front and center. It's 2022, there is no reason to hold the game back by hanging on to the inaccurate past
Draymond was the 2nd best player on the team in Game 2. His defense was spectacular even tho he did some unnecessary things just to try to get under their skin
Rob Williams has had damn near no rest since having surgery so he definitely is no where near 100% health wise but he chooses to continue playing through it
What I legitimately hate is how NBA fans refuse to see the forest for the trees when it comes to how letting Draymond play fullback and allowing him to stay in the game and calling phantom fouls. The constant "but what about his borderline call what about that borderline call" is so childish and it's an attempt to justify some bad officiating Calling quick fouls on key players forces different lineups and different rotations, effects how defense is played, and effects how willing you are to drive and take contact when you know you won't be getting a call Draymond should've been ejected like you said. And the Celtics played terribly. Both things can be true, but I think it's more than possible that poor officiating generated bad play on both ends, and leads to Udoka calling the refs pussies just to get a tech to prove a point and refs getting criticized by the players after the game. It's just ugly all around and Zarba is at the center of it all yet again
Jrue Holiday said it best. If you have the rep as a good defender, you get away w more. Pump the breaks if you don’t wanna keep the same energy for Marcus Smart as you do draymond
The refs didn’t miss anything… even the old ref that the commentators consulted said “we take into account that the player already has a tech when deciding whether we give him a second” - and I’ve never heard such BS in my life
Yep same as saying we ref games with an agenda in mind instead of calling plays right as they come. Hey it’s just entertainment to the league. My last year watching. If gonna watch entertainment I’ll watch a movie instead
I hated the entire discussion around the Draymond 2nd tech situation, only because the entire game was chippy and physical. I could see that situation being a double tech in a meaningless regular season game where the refs are calling a buncha ticky-tack fouls to keep the intensity down, but in a super physical NBA FINALS GAME it wouldn't make sense to give techs for one guy pushing the other guy's leg off him and the other guy saying "don't do that". Wasn't a big deal to me at all and the fact that there was even a damn 5 minute conversation about it threw me into old-head "the NBA is so soft these days" mode.
surprised you didn’t notice that when the play was stopped after derrick white blocked poole and they were in transition that everyone just gave up. immediately after that the celtics started playing bad in the second quarter.
I’m a warriors fan so I am bias by all means but I think it be bad for NBA to eject a star player on one of the finals teams when simply all they were doing was talking and a tiny shoving or standing match. Now if it’s a hard foul or something ofc dray should be ejected if he has one already but if it’s just talking I rather them ignore the tech (for both teams) and let this series be decided by the game these players play and not by words they say. IMO
People can talk about Klays shots but if you know basketball you know Klay is going to explode soon. And his defense in this game was amazing, multiple big stops and huge blocks.
Saying that those things that went against The Celtics isn’t the reason they lost is true but also with that statement, it takes away the factors of momentum and the snowball effect. If Draymond is such an amazing defender then his presence not being on the court would absolutely change things. I don’t think we can say those things aren’t the reason they lost because we simply don’t know. We don’t know what that would do for team morale
I don’t wanna say it but he might be hiding a injury that might need surgery but dosent want to because he knows how impactful he is to miss these games but that’s my opinion because it is odd for how much and how long he’s been injured but we don’t know till the end of the series
I don't like putting emphasis on officiating as to why teams lose a game. But that first half set the tone as Boston's defense never could get started without the refs bailing the Warriors out. Took the wind out of Boston's sails . But also it's that offense that grew cold
Draymond needs to control his emotions. He’s so impactful for the Warriors when he’s on the court, but as soon as the whistle blows, you gotta hope that Draymond doesn’t start talking to much to the refs or other team. You would think after getting 1 technical foul, he would chill a bit and try to avoid getting ejected (or suspended if he gets too many technical fouls), but Dray constantly needs to be getting into it with somebody.
As a Celtics fan, my assessment on the game is that the officiating was horrible in the first half, and the Cs lost their composure over it and started playing extremely sloppy basketball and then it totally got out of control with one of their now common historically bad quarters and since this is the Warriors, not the Heat, the game was put completely out of reach after a few shots. These lapses just can’t happen in general but especially vs the Warriors. The officiating definitely contributed to the loss but wasn’t really that big of a factor to the 3rd quarter collapse
We could See Steph hungry for that Final Piece for his Legacy that FMVP is all he needs and Steph is very consistent so far in the series I can say that.
As a basketball fan, i love the energy and intensity, and all the trash talking in this game, i mean we are in the finals cmon, let the players get in the heads of those who cant take a litte shit talk And im not necessarily defending draymond, cause i want the celtics players to do the same, and have the same "benefit of the doubt". I realy think that trash talk, to a certain degree, IS healthy for the game
What Celtics fans should feel good about is that this team hasn't had back to back bad games all playoffs. That makes me more confident next game than it being at home. Coming off a loss seems to be a better indicator of a upcoming good performance than the fact that it's in Boston.
I never seen people hate a player so much and call him trash (draymond green) but cry when he’s not ejected. If he’s so “ass” like ya say. Why does him being in the game matter ?
Imo the biggest call in the game was that horrible foul on brown to get him benched for a while. He had like 13 points and 3 3’s on 67% shooting and then the whole game changed once he got subbed out and he was cold when he got back in. People sleep at how important those calls are in the game. The Celtics had been up double digits for a few minutes at that point and the officiating just mangled the game, slowed it down and destroyed the rhythm. After that it was a wrap.
If Boston wins, I feel like we could see a Finals MVP that is even more surprising than Iggy in 2015 or Kawhi in 2014. Like a Marcus Smart or Al Horford Finals MVP or something crazy like that.
Javie said they're not only looking to see if he deserves a tech but because it's his second they're looking if it warrants an ejection. Since they calmed down and it was resolved quickly it didn't require an ejection according to javie.

It messed up Jordan Poole's early feel for the game.
It was his first game back healthy. You gotta just see what he can do. There also wasn't a great alternative since GP wasn't available
Fact
It's entertainment, they're going to do whatever it takes to make the most $$$.
I think the refs look at the second tech more like “should this player be ejected for this play” more than “should they get another tech.”
I can understand both sides tbh
Same and I like that, the quality of the game would drop for what would seem like a reg season tick tack tech
Exactly!!!
@@zaindixon9811 It wasn't a soft tech. I also hate those soft ejections but Draymond had like 5 positions that he could've gotten a tech and at that point he is just terrorizing the game and getting an unfair advantage out of it.
@@zaindixon9811 and that is called rigging the game, if a player deserves to get tossed or fouled out , then that needs to be done without thinking about it being the finals and destroying the game because that is rigging the game.
Bad officiating doesn’t make you go down 30. Some of y’all are acting like the warriors got 40 free throws 🤦🏾♂️😭

Deadass 🤣
While true, I would argue Boston had all the momentum and were playing near perfectly. Then several questionable calls siphoned their momentum, put key players in foul trouble and through all that disrupted their rhythm. Boston shouldn't have let it get to them as badly as they did, but to say the officiating didn't play a huge role is crazy.
@@RasenKamehamehaX100 Boston did it to themselves.
it can stop momentum though
never seen kenny cry so much in a video
I’m glad that even though it ended as a blowout you still had so many high quality talking points. Awesome serious so far.
As a Celtics fan i personally the refs made the right call by not giving Draymond the tech. I was loving everything these 2 teams were giving us and losing dray wouldve hurt that.
It wouldve taken a lot more for Draymond to get that ejection.
Same I like that they are letting them play out instead of just giving techs.
There were 2 definite points in this game the draymond could’ve definitely got a tech but the refs held his hand all night, that won’t happen in Boston if he acts a fool there
Wow. Haven’t heard that form any of the Celtic fans on IG and Twitter 😭 well said
Fact if this was in Boston then everything will be different(speaking as a Warriors fan)
Despite Tatums 28 points, having a -35 plus minus says a lot
He can't get to the rim. He's too soft on the attack.
Deadass ✍🏽

@@seanaes L
That's a great point about Draymond knowing how these games are officiated. Most casual fans sit and cry about fouls, not realising it's different in the playoffs, then different again in the finals.
The reason why he didn't get out is because they have to look at is it enough to take him out the game and that wasn't enough to take him out
Kenny: officiate, officiater???
Me: official..
I left when it was less than ten points in the 3rd quarter, then I was so confused when I checked the score and it was a 30 point game
I can’t wait for game 3. Outside of the 4th quarter in game 1 the Warriors have been the better team by far. But it’s still 1-1 going into Boston that’s all that matters. I smell a Grant Williams game but Klay is also ready to go off after those first 2 games
@EpicNinjaEJ warriors went up double digits twice up until the 4th they clearly been better majority of the game until Celtics hit 9 3s in the fourth
Boston players were trying to get Draymond ejected he was living rent free in Boston players and coach head 😂😂😂 by the time they stopped trying to ejected green they were down 30 😂😂😂😂
Draymond was trying to get himself ejected, fortunately for him, the refs weren’t going to give him the satisfaction.
That first Draymond tech was kinda weak which is probably why they decided not to give him the second one. Ill admit he probably deserved the second one more than the first one lol
Nemanja Bjelica gave the warriors great minutes too
Draymond is the dude u love to have on ur team but hate when u play against him, which is evident by the fact that the Celtics have a smaller draymond on their team with Smart but they’re fine with him
them scoring damn near 14 points in the second half determined the game LMAOO
I'm all with Draymond staying in the game, let these guys play, I actually think you should need 3 techs to get ejected in the finals, let it get spicy.
I like this take 👀
He should have got three tho 😂 he was playing football not Basketball.
It was the fact that all their momentum was killed, would have built a huge lead

Exactly Kenny! By their logic, the smart thing to do is to get a Tech immediately in a game, then you have a longer leash for the rest of the game
It’s a entertainment product. Ejecting a player for something not egregious, in THE FINALS, is bad for business.
Disgraceful
Exactly good thing smart didnt retaliate
Love the Chris Paul reference 🤣🤣
That trying draw fouls thing definitely hurt them, a lot of those misses could’ve been makes if they weren’t looking for contact. And a lot of that gave the Dubs fast break opportunities which only gets guys like steph going.
That exact strategy has been ruining the game for years now man
I’m having no sympathy for a team who draws fake fouls. That shit is annoying. The refs didn’t win the game for the dubs. This was all Boston.

All of a sudden people running out here calling the Celtics the more physical/bigger/aggressive team and now they are complaining about a Draymond green weak scuffle like he single handedly stole all their lunch money. Celtics reaching for a win no matter the cost eh?
Celtics fans are toxic
NBA officiating has been the worst I've seen in these playoffs. That being said, the Celtics have benefitted from the whistle for most of these playoffs, so I don't want to hear any complaints from Boston fans.
You capping like hell. Giannis and butler
Just got my enjoy basketball hoodie today and I love it, can’t wait for the next merch to drop
The thing about the Draymond tech situation is that he already got a tech, so if he’s acting up again than clearly he didn’t learn his lesson and shouldn’t be held back from another one just because he already had one
The fact that we have to have this conversation is crazy
I'm surprised that draymond hasn't had a second tech more in these playoffs. Through lots of the series, he has had plays/circumstances that were almost identical to the first tech. Same with a few other dudes in these playoffs.
The first tech is more of a warning while it will need a serious matter to kick a player out during the playoffs, especially a key player for a team. It would hurt the sport and viewership more than it would help.
Draymond and the Warriors caught a break with the refs not giving Draymond a 2nd technical. In the end, Boston got embarrassed
Celtics gave up in the 2nd half smh just kept throwing the ball away, not blocking out for rebounds. It was crazy.
But bad calls can ruin momentum by forcing players to be subbed out
Love the vids. Keep it up
Kenny roasted my middle school team. I have to drop 30 5 and 12 every game for us to be even close to winning
draymond is incredibly smart, that’s why i BELIEVE the 2nd tech was necessary, this man is one of the kings of getting techs he understand better than anyone he can get away with that bullshit and other dirty stuff to get under the celtics nerves because they won’t throw him out or give him that 2nd tech because it’s a the NBA finals
I been saying the same thing abt klay for a min. Since he got back the bad shot selection is a lot more frustrating to watch on the bad nights
Draymond did the same thing in the Mavs series.. he got a quick tech and was BEGGING for a 2nd one knowing damn well there was zero chance the refs were gonna give him one
Yes it gave the Warriors more motivation to win Draymond is the voice of the locker room on and off the court
Hey Kenny, can you tell me how Rob came to his nickname? Or anyone?
7:34 Coach Kerr has to get Klay some easier looks earlier in the game, to try and get him in a rhythm. I don’t think the Warriors can win 3 more games with Klay playing this poorly.

The constant "but what about his borderline call what about that borderline call" is so childish and it's an attempt to justify some bad officiating
Calling quick fouls on key players forces different lineups and different rotations, effects how defense is played, and effects how willing you are to drive and take contact when you know you won't be getting a call
Draymond should've been ejected like you said.
Marcus Smart not dirty, but reckless. Homie out here defending so hard he injuring others AND himself 😂
That’s how it is and should allways be
Best quote "You played like trash" 10:50
when Steve Javie said that Draymond shouldn’t receive a tech because he already had one and they didn’t wanna eject him is ridiculous
I agree with everything you said in that video, nice stuff
surprised you didn’t notice that when the play was stopped after derrick white blocked poole and they were in transition that everyone just gave up. immediately after that the celtics started playing bad in the second quarter.
IMO
Totally agree.
Who is he?
The cp3 explanation 😂😂
I don't like putting emphasis on officiating as to why teams lose a game. But that first half set the tone as Boston's defense never could get started without the refs bailing the Warriors out. Took the wind out of Boston's sails . But also it's that offense that grew cold
No

Yeah, that's the reason they went down like 27 points 😂
Draymond needs to control his emotions. He’s so impactful for the Warriors when he’s on the court, but as soon as the whistle blows, you gotta hope that Draymond doesn’t start talking to much to the refs or other team. You would think after getting 1 technical foul, he would chill a bit and try to avoid getting ejected (or suspended if he gets too many technical fouls), but Dray constantly needs to be getting into it with somebody.
What’s the game template from game 1 to win hit 8 3s in the 4th, aight bro.
You know they call the finals different than pre season. C'mon. Did you watch the milwaukee bucks v suns????
6:25 it's Looney, no question
9:38 I believe “official” is the word you’re looking for
We could See Steph hungry for that Final Piece for his Legacy that FMVP is all he needs and Steph is very consistent so far in the series I can say that.
I think what the ref often do is if there are 2 50/50 call they call the first one and give the 2nd one extra leeway.
As a basketball fan, i love the energy and intensity, and all the trash talking in this game, i mean we are in the finals cmon, let the players get in the heads of those who cant take a litte shit talk
And im not necessarily defending draymond, cause i want the celtics players to do the same, and have the same "benefit of the doubt".
Cuz he plays like an NFL linebacker
Imo the biggest call in the game was that horrible foul on brown to get him benched for a while. He had like 13 points and 3 3’s on 67% shooting and then the whole game changed once he got subbed out and he was cold when he got back in. People sleep at how important those calls are in the game. The Celtics had been up double digits for a few minutes at that point and the officiating just mangled the game, slowed it down and destroyed the rhythm. After that it was a wrap.
Kenny I missed the first merch drop, gonna need the next one soon 😭

If Boston wins, I feel like we could see a Finals MVP that is even more surprising than Iggy in 2015 or Kawhi in 2014. Like a Marcus Smart or Al Horford Finals MVP or something crazy like that.
Javie said they're not only looking to see if he deserves a tech but because it's his second they're looking if it warrants an ejection. Since they calmed down and it was resolved quickly it didn't require an ejection according to javie.
