    Beautifully explained. I always tell my clients..."No wonky lines" because it messes up my polish application.

    Hello Katie, First Happy New Year to you and yours!! Ok, from what you say if you see a kink in the line it's beause gel is missing and I have to add. Would a kink in the line mean too much product as well....(i don't think so). thank you you have great videos. Thank you, very well done and explained.

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  6 месяцев назад

      You may not always have to add more gel. The kinks just mean that the surface is uneven. So in certain cases you may need to add more gel, or in others you may just need to adjust the gel that’s already applied. It’s possible there is too much gel and that’s why it could be pooling in certain areas.
      I just mentioned you can add more gel for the times that it’s needed ☺️

    What about when gel looks smooth but then cures bumpy? I’ve had this issue multiple times now and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong 😢 I’m using a good lamp and curing every layer for the proper amount of time.

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hmmm that doesn’t quite make sense. 🤔 Either 1) it’s getting bumped in the lamp 2) the gel is curing too slowly, I found this with luminary 3) it’s undercured so it’s wrinkling because the top layer is cured but it’s not cured underneath.
      Otherwise I’m not completely sure what’s going on without seeing it 😅

    • @Veravvs
      @Veravvs 5 месяцев назад

      @@NailsByKatieDutra I’ve never heard of gel curing too slowly! Is that due to the led wavelength of a lamp not matching the gel?

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Veravvs I’ve only ever had that problem with Luminary gel. Is that what you’re using? If not, it’s probably not it. 😅 And by that I mean it would just be a little heavier on the sides because it settled down on the sides as it was curing. I don’t mean that it’s bumpy.
      I think it could be that you’re using the wrong lamps so it’s not fully curing the product and the gel is still wet underneath. That’s a tough one though because I’ve never actually heard of this problem so those are the only possibilities I can think of.
      If you’re on IG you can send me a photo of what exactly is happening
