Conduction -Convection- Radiation-Heat Transfer

- Heat is the transfer of energy from objects of different temperatures. As objects warm-up or cool down their kinetic energy changes. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.
In this video, I focus on three ways heat can be transferred,
Conduction, Convection, and Radiation.
Conduction involves direct contact between objects and usually occurs among solids.
Convection is caused by unequal heating and the density of the different objects causes movement of fluid away from the heat source.
Radiation occurs without objects touching and occurs in space.
For example, the energy of the sun warms objects on Earth due to radiation.
I show several examples or demonstrations for each type of heat transfer.

@@zephyanntorreon6536 No it does not. Pizza is rolled dough. Pancakes are poured batter that cause bubbles to burst the surface.

I was so confused with our assignment to give define heat transfers with examples but our science workbooks use too much formal words, making everything confusing. But this video is so helpful!! Thank you 🥺

If you put a giant, double-glazed, reinforced glass greenhouse just under the surface of the water in the sea the sun would warm the water inside the greenhouse. This warming of the seawater inside the greenhouse would cause the water to expand. The expansion of the water inside the greenhouse would mean that it would be less dense and lighter in weight than the colder seawater outside the greenhouse. If the base of the greenhouse were opened to allow the colder, denser, heavier seawater outside the greenhouse to enter it then the warmer, lighter-weight water inside the greenhouse would be pushed upwards and out of/above the surface of the seawater (if, obviously, there were also an opening at the top of the greenhouse). If this rising warm water were allowed to build up inside a 'containment column structure' above the surface of the seawater then it could, subsequently, be released into a waterwheel connected to an electric generator to generate electricity. It may also apply that the same kind of 'kinetic energy harnessing' would be possible at Arctic locations where there was the rising and falling out of and back down into the water of enormous Arctic icebergs. Plus, redirecting the warm water from the greenhouse - mentioned above - along a horizontal pipeline leading to the Arctic during Arctic winter would push water upwards out of the Arctic sea (as explained above) which would then freeze in the colder air above the water to form new Arctic ice, would it not?
homie put his test question in the comment section 💀

Conduction is more convenient in my opinion

Convection is heat transfer by movement of a fluid like water...etc...I have an example : if I have a pot with water inside ,and mix the water quickly ( rapidly) ,does it increase the heat of water ( does it increase the temperature of the water ? )
Yes because the temperature of an object is determined by how fast its molecules are moving. The faster the molecules are moving, the higher the temperature.
Thanks , you helped a lot
my guy really called a pancake a 'mini pizza'. 'laughter'

If you put your hand above a stove, and you feel heat. Is it convection (of the air) or radiation? Thanks
its radiation
Very helpful!
I’m doing a test and this helped so much thank ypu
Cool

How come baking counts as convection to conduction? I don’t get how the convection part comes in?
conduction is with direct contact and convection isn't, can't be the third since that only includes the sun
@Kelly Moran Could you help me, I'm still confuse about this.
Let say I am boiling an egg.
Heat from stove flame to pan = conduction
Heat from pan to water = convection
How about heat from boiling water to an egg? It is a conduction or convection?

thank you for this! i have never heared about this before because i was doing some quizs of it
I didn't even know gases were fluid. I always assumed fluid and liquid were interchangeable terms, but fluid is a property of liquid and gas.
It was a simple and easy explanation but when you explained about radiation, you left out the important point- radiation releases heat in the form of light.
Thank you
