Shanghaied was a special episode where, when it originally aired, viewers could call in and vote on which of the three characters they wanted to get the wish. Depending on the votes, that character's ending was aired. SpongeBob was the one to win the vote so they aired his ending first and that is what solidified it as the "canon" ending. I believe they also aired the other two endings afterwards just to show the viewers what would've happened otherwise but I don't know all the details.
The two other endings had them not run away and let the Dutchman eat them and if you seen all of the endings, you'll notice the characters got dumber at the losing endings where they got eaten and they were smarter for the ending that won. Not to mention there are different ways the Dutchman grants last wishes, in Patrick's ending, he says the wish is granted while magic wish sparkles show up. In Squidward's ending, he kinda does the same like Patrick's ending. In the last ending, SpongeBob's ending, he straight up explodes into a vegetarian and sends the characters in a blender as fruits and the trio ran away and got chased forever, but also didn't in the other endings.

For the episode "Just One Bite", I seriously wouldn't blame 9/11 for the gas scene's deletion; I think the REAL reason was because Nick was concerned that it would influence younger audiences to play with gas & fire. I have proof: if 9/11 was officially the reason, in addition to this, the Season 2 episode "Dying for Pie" would no longer be airing since then, neither would it have been released on VHS & DVD, all due to the prominence of explosions. Also, the 1st & last times I saw this episode on TV were in 2004 & 2005 respectively, & every airing I saw had the gas scene.
I can actually remember when they first aired Just One Bite in its entirety, found it strange when they cut that scene off in later airings since 2005-ish
It had nothing to do with 9/11 I know that's been the head cannon for years but the actual reason they deleted was because they were worried it would insensitivise playing with fire and gasoline.
To be honest with the first one, the blender scene seems a lot more comical and less dark because it’s just the Dutchman chasing the blender (presumably for eternity) whereas the deleted scene comes across a lot more dark because it actually depicts them having been eaten. I can see why they made that change, the replaced scene feels a lot more spongebobified and it leaves something to the imagination, rather than straight up showing it
There was actually a third deleted scene where Patrick got the wish and he just wished for some gum and they all just had a piece of gum before also getting eaten by the Dutchman. In this version you can hear the three of them shouting at the Dutchman to be let out.
@@mrpendayho They let themselves get eaten and then they just beg to be let out. I'm just very confused why they'd beg to be let out even though letting themselves get eaten.

Rubbing lotion is a common thing when going to the beach and going out when the sun is shining. Where Patrick was rubbing the lotion was above the arms, not behind the back or in front of Sandy. The only time they should have deleted the scene is if the extended the scene that would show it happening. The one deleted scene from Spongebob Squarepants (1999-present day) I am aware of is the deleted scene from the hyper-famous and legendary episode "Just One Bite" (2001) from Season Two. In the episode's original airing, there was a scene where Squidward tries to get into the Krusty Krab to eat krabby patties from the Patty Vault at night when the Krusty Krab was still closed only to get into a trap near the front door and another one in the kitchen where a bucket of gas got dumped onto him and a match was placed onto it creating a fire that didn't kill but severly burned Squidward and when he entered the kitchen he and the gas got burned by more fire which still did not kill him for some reason! before seeing the Krusty Vault and walking towards it to eat the krabby patties inside before meeting Spongebob who apparently, always come to work early at 5:00 AM the same time Squidward arrived at the Krusty Krab. The trap was never meant for Squidward but was instead installed by Mr. Krabs to prevent Plankton from entering the Krusty Krab and stealing the secret formula at night. The scene was deemed controversial due it unintentionally referencing the events of the 9/11 Attacks and destruction of the Twin Towers so it was cut in all future airings and re-runs of the episode and all the home video releases in the United States of America. Today the edited version can be found on all home video (DVD and VHS) releases in the United States of America and the Paramount Plus release and airings in the U.S.A. and the original version with the deleted scene can be found in Canadian airings and DVD and VHS releases.

8:17 explanation: the guys working on the episode added the creepy squidward scene to “make fun of edgy internet stories”, but it got replaced because it was so creepy.
The unused flying dutchman endings were because of a contest where people would vote for the ending depending on who’s wish was chosen, the reason why we got SpongeBob’s wish is because that was the one most voted for

I remember watching the original episode (8:14) and I can admit it scared the living shit out of me- after watching that a full on stoped watching the series as a whole lol
In case you were wondering why they deleted that scene from Just One Bite was for a couple reasons. 1. was that this episode aired near the events of 9/11 and people were still pretty shook and explosions were a big part of that disaster. 2. It was to easy to replicate. Kids seeing that might think its cool and want to try it out and knowing all they have to do is pour some gas on the ground a throw a lit match on it to create an explosion is not a good image for yourself and your company. 3. It was simply to violent, Like have you seen anything a huge explosion like that in spongebob? Most likely not.
1:56 I actually remember watching this scene only once back in my memory head. I was wondering why's the ending on this episode is different now. It really grinds my gear because no one was believing me back then
The part where you talk about squidward in randomland and that jumpscare that actually came from a post to a spongebob wikipidea or somthing where in the post its squidward commiting Suicide
Interesting fact about the Flying Dutchmen episode. The scene was deleted because it was a special choice episode originally, where you can vote on who gets the wish. Which is why Squidward makes the wish instead of Spongebob. There was a third for Patrick, which is apparently lost media
Patrick's ending wasn't lost media, the English versions of him and Squidward wining are lost media. You can see Patrick's ending on RUclips and DVD along with the voting scenes and results (Squidward and Patrick's winning scenes are on RUclips).
If you've ever seen Inland Empire, the Squidward jump scare looks just like the one in that movie that still haunts my dreams... I wouldnt be surprised if it's a reference to that
spongebob after banning a scene where the flying dutchman (a ghost) eats spongebob and patrick and squidward but not banning a scene where spongebob says "THERE'S A BOMB STRAPPED TO MY CHEST, IT'S GONNA EXPLODE IN 3 SECONDS":
Plot twist: Mr. Krabs had to put that trap on the door so when Plankton comes to steal the krabby patty formula the gasoline falls then the machine puts fire so Plankton will suffer in pain ig
"Shanga hayed?" 🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂 It's pronounced "ShangHIDE" or "ShanghaiED" as in the past tense of Shanghai. Like being forced into servitude. 😂😂😂 Like in the pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest scene where Jack Sparrow is talking to bootstrap bill and he says "he Shanghaied you into service."
Crabby baddies are not unhealthy. They’re actually not even made from crabs plus there’s crabs mother and actually crabby patties or just veggie patties.
The way that they get these “deleted scenes” is because it aired before but Nickelodeon and the producers of spongebob decided To delete it because it was unfriendly for kids I hope this helps
Uh I remember watching the spongebob episode with the jumpscare, maybe for some reason they only aired it once or maybe a couple of times but I vividly remember the jumpscare and I was very surprised they kept it in
If the Red Mist reference wasn’t deleted, it would technically be somewhat canon in the Spongebob verse, at least in an alternate timeline within the verse
Same it had Red Mist when I watched it
Bruh my heart jumped when I saw that Squidward jumpscare 😳
fun fact:that image was from the horor episode squidward suiside
That reference actually made me laugh
"HAAAA SCHISSE "-me
Me tooo
@@Spinval episode?
Random Land looks like a cool episode. I wish they had a more adult version of SpongeBob.
5:49 this episode was aired during 9/11
The creepy Squidward is from a delited episode called “Red Mist” where Squidward kills himself wile red mist is everywhere in the background. People got angry and wanted it removed that’s also why the creepy Squidward scene got deleted
i thought it was just a creepy pasta some bored fan made... your trying to tell me the actual spongebob team made it...
@@annonymous-uj8ue yup
@@annonymous-uj8ue the original episode was a creepy pasta im pretty sure but they referenced it in that new episode
Timestamp pls
@@annonymous-uj8ue yes
8:08 would have had me laugh harder than I should have. Lol
Lmao
Is sculls 8:0
8:09
That jumpscare wasn't a deleted scene! I've seen it several times on tv😂 they should've deleted it for sure tho
It was changed by a baby Squidward in most countries.
I saw it too! and when I did I told my family about it and showed them and they were concerned
Yeah when I first saw it I was surprised they put that in there
8:09 this scene was actually in the episode when they first released it because I remember seeing it. When I rewatched it I got confused when they replaced it with the baby.
The uncensored swearing was actually released recently
I've seen that one on the air before
@@davidmollard9832 same, and I KNOW for fact that I saw it well after 9-11
What about the exploding pie episode
Explosions in cartoons aren't very rare.
there are a lot of explosions in SpongeBob, no?
1:56 I actually remember watching this scene only once back in my memory head. I was wondering why's the ending on this episode is different now. It really grinds my gear because no one was believing me back then
Most people voted for SpongeBob to get the wish so that's why
kids that called in and I asked for the other ending, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT
The spongebob and squidward ending were the most common while i barley ever saw the Patrick one
They used it to show that XR flag.
The part where you talk about squidward in randomland and that jumpscare that actually came from a post to a spongebob wikipidea or somthing where in the post its squidward commiting Suicide
that bonus episode had a ren and stimpy feel to it. Scary
Love ur content man! :)
Same
@Zachary Albert I’m not I’m subbed and I like his new content. There is a lot of improvements
@Zachary Albert is ok

8:40 HOLY SHIT JESUS CHRIST I CAN SEE WHY
Sonic .exe!
@@Pachie2016 no
Yeah if I saw that as a little kid I would be screaming the life out
You didn’t show Patrick’s alternate wish. That was longer.
That squidward jump scare was staring into my soul
I remember watching SpongeBob when i was 4 the Squidward in the door and I started to cry 😭
Please don't mention that.
I can’t believe that there was supposed to be actual cursing on Sailor Mouth.
3:10 actually, those deleted scenes are still on my Prime Video
Omg thanks for adding the reference to squidward's suicide
8:09 When I watched random land, that was in there. Every time I watch that, it’s there.
5:27 I saw that episode of spongebob when it wasn’t deleted
What episode is thatt?
@@viktormilojevic6353 Just one bite, i remember this scrne airing in 2006
When I was younger my parents made me eat a hamburger by saying it was a krabby patty
If you've ever seen Inland Empire, the Squidward jump scare looks just like the one in that movie that still haunts my dreams... I wouldnt be surprised if it's a reference to that
Fun fact: The Spongebob swearing episode actually aired on TV in late 2021, so if you haven't seen it, you'll probably not have a chance to anymore.
spongebob after banning a scene where the flying dutchman (a ghost) eats spongebob and patrick and squidward but not banning a scene where spongebob says "THERE'S A BOMB STRAPPED TO MY CHEST, IT'S GONNA EXPLODE IN 3 SECONDS":
Plot twist: Mr. Krabs had to put that trap on the door so when Plankton comes to steal the krabby patty formula the gasoline falls then the machine puts fire so Plankton will suffer in pain ig
Like where did that robot hand come from
Fun fact: Eugene and Plankton used to be friends, but by season 5, we found out they become enemy to this very day.
"Shanga hayed?" 🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂 It's pronounced "ShangHIDE" or "ShanghaiED" as in the past tense of Shanghai. Like being forced into servitude. 😂😂😂
Like in the pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest scene where Jack Sparrow is talking to bootstrap bill and he says "he Shanghaied you into service."
I remember the sene with Patrick looking creepy and the car sene
That car scene made me laugh the first time a saw it
*S E N E*
Those aren't deleted in my country
I love your videos thier so Entertaining 💗
Crabby baddies are not unhealthy. They’re actually not even made from crabs plus there’s crabs mother and actually crabby patties or just veggie patties.
"there is gonna be a jumpscare"
Me who hates jump scares: *skips the scene*
Same
The way that they get these “deleted scenes” is because it aired before but Nickelodeon and the producers of spongebob decided
To delete it because it was unfriendly for kids I hope this helps
6:17 I remember when I saw that scene. I remember when it first aired.
I love ur videos
The random land scene (red mist/squidwards death creepypasta) was deleted but the audio in paramount plus wasn't deleted for a long time.
8:38 I Guess the legend of the Red Mist was too much for nickelodeon.
i remember the bonus scene when it was actually up
For episode 'procrastination,' I strongly remember that so called "deleted scene" many many times on Nick
I don't understand why they would remove it, Sandy has the bras below her shoulders...
@@everbita1723 it's Nick. I'm honestly not surprised.
Uh I remember watching the spongebob episode with the jumpscare, maybe for some reason they only aired it once or maybe a couple of times but I vividly remember the jumpscare and I was very surprised they kept it in
4:40 A car scene was actually tottaly removed as well and this is probably because..... NUMBER THREE
Legend says he never finished the sentence.
My favorite cut line from Spongbob is from Mrs. Puff
“May Neptune have mercy on your soul...”
2:28 they took a vote who got the wish and there was one for all of them spongebob, squidward, and patrick
And if you have one of the dvds u have access to the wishes
The deleted scene with scary squidward actually terrifies me and I'm 19\lmao ESPECIALLY with the background story from it
its pretty creepy
Yea my heart stopped for 5 seconds-
5:14 has a creepy scene that made me happy that chunk of animation was removed😅
If the Red Mist reference wasn’t deleted, it would technically be somewhat canon in the Spongebob verse, at least in an alternate timeline within the verse
1:00 Shanghaied???
