- Just in time for Father’s Day, Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) is releasing 15 exclusive-to-Ohio Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel selections beginning Tuesday, June 7. These barrels were personally selected by OHLQ with Bruce Russell, son and grandson of legendary Master Distillers Eddie Russell and Jimmy Russell, in Wild Turkey’s famed “Rickhouse A.” Here is a behind the scenes look at the selections!

I hadn't tasted any of the Russell's private select untill yesterday. Man that stuff is so damn good.
I wasn't able to attend the signing in Toledo due to work but I was able to get Barrel 21-0106 warehouse K in Maumee. Excited to give it a try.
Went to the Cincinnati bottle signing and got the warehouse K 4th floor. Had one pick before from OHLQ and the team did and excellent job. I had no clue you were from Ohio, so now this has to be my go-to bourbon channel!

Joseph's line in Toledo started 2 hours ahead of the event and it didn't start on time. Bring a chair and be patient. They got close to 200 bottles and a ton of Rarebreed and Rye and Kentucky Spirit
Fun video. RR picks aren’t too easy to find in my area, but occasionally Total Wine has them. I’ve had one from you guys (Look at the Birdie). Great whiskey at a great price.

Very interesting visit Jason. I wonder if you`d done this pick in the summer if you`d have made different choices?? I hope you guys in Ohio enjoy these specials. I`ve been enjoying a Ryan Engen selection ( warehouse F, floor 4 ) makes me want to try a Russell`s 13 although I`ve never seen one here in the UK.
The pick I got is also Warehouse F, floor 4. The barrel # 21-0559.
I'm out west in NoCal, it was picked by Bottle Barn. Probably from a different sight though.
But it's the best Turkey I've ever had 👍
@@100puremustard5 We`re probably drinking something very similar as mine is barrel 21-0670 & is the best Turkey I`ve had too. Got mine from a Scottish auction house, the downside for me is that I will have paid way more for mine :{

Great video, I recently got lucky with a SB Spirit must of got a great batch because it was by far the most complex and richest WT I tasted. RR is Great also
Haha so I forgot to share the experience going to get the TYR - B - 4th Floor bottle. Showed up at the Cleveland area one about 15 minutes after it started, and there were probably already 100 people in line. Wrapped around the building. Turns out they were running late coming from Toledo, which I heard was almost empty. (To be fair, I'd expect the Cleveland area to be busier than the Toledo area.) Finally got there I think 45 minutes after the start, and enough people showed up where they ran out. I feel like I still only made the cutoff by about 20-30 people.
Still, worth the wait to get the bottle signed, plus a Rare Breed Rye signed for my mom. I would go again!
I'd love to get one of these. My wife found some bottles of 10 year old last week for $32 here in Kentucky.

I heading to KY this weekend from Pittsburgh, so I’ll be driving through Ohio. Looks like I’ll be doing a lot more “bathroom breaks” along the way. And everyone knows the best bathrooms are at liquor stores!! 😀
I'm going to the signing on Tuesday the 7th in Cleveland.. the tasting note says "not your grandfather's wild turkey". I hope it still tastes good.. lol. I was wondering if you could add any context?

I thought about going to the signing in Cincy but I always come toting a 10 year old so standing in line for a long time isn’t in the cards. Plus she only likes the liquor stores that give her free candy. 😂
Nice! So I gotta ask, why do they drill a hole in it? Wouldn’t it be better to use the thief then put the bung back in? I’m sure there’s a reason I just don’t know. Thx sir 🥃
So funny story...the hammer Bruce was using eventually broke and he didn't have another one to get into the bung and thief, so out came the drill.

@@chadwallace3598 no there are little wooded spiles that you plug the holes with after you drill. Easy fix
Where is the barrel code on the label? I have a couple of the last OHLQ barrel picks and I don’t see any marking that would indicate rickhouse or anything. Also; once you find it, how do you decipher it?

I’m confused. So when you’re picking the barrel you’re actually getting to taste it at higher proof than the stand RR proof of 110? If so then damn I want to go taste some high proof Turkey lol.
If I'm not mistaken, Wild Turkey has a pretty barrel entry proof, so I don't think it's that much higher than 110. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
