Yup, know that hell hole, being local to me. Rapidly deteriorating that one. You can actually hear that moving when your inside. Large areas accessible just a few years ago are gone now.

Glad to see mine / cave explorers using proper gear for the job. Too many risking themselves without any proper gear for mines / caves.

Shame they took the headgear engine house away, plus the mini locos and carts. I was there about 20 yrs ago, there was loads of documentation, safety records etc just abandoned.

The rise just after the air door was one of my last jobs Myself and Stephen Birnie put it up from the Firestone level.

Wow amazing Gary !.. one question then , if you remember , the level my mate climbed up the ladder (15:55).. how far does it go ? -we didn’t explore as we made our way out -
      Kind regards
      Antonio

@@undergroundexplorersc9c270 We put the rise up from the Firestone (the gated incline nearby) and we holed through just after the air door on the horse level (the adit behind the head gear) if you climb down the ladder way where the water runs down you may be able to access the Firestone workings, also interestingly enough ,my first job in the mines was to uncouple the tubs from the winch rope at the top of the incline where the raised winder platform is that you were investigating.

11:42 you should have went downstairs, and seen the horror show. One of the bits you walked past has collapsed. We've not been back for years big movement in there.

You guys are in so much trouble. Wait till I tell mine rescue you aren't wearing ear protectors! xD
Seriously though, I've waded (see: swam) through a couple of partially flooded adits in my time and I won't do it again. Fortunately the American West has mines that are mostly dry. Ye're brave lads. Keep safe and remember to bring jaffa cake for Tony. ;)

lesson learned . At 5:47 was that loud California barking spider aka fart. I worked in coal mines wore thermal underwear all year round worked up a good sweat but when taking lunch you cooled down fast temp at 52 degrees Fahrenheit and damp all year.
