Sometimes motherhood makes us feel like we are failures but that doesn't make us less of a mother. I was not able to breastfeed my son..my body failed me, I had no milk production, for the first one month I was loosing it, I tried every drug available, natural methods, foods, plenty of water and warm drinks you name them and I felt like I had lost my bond of nurturing my new born baby forever.
I thought we shall never connect, worse of I resumed for work after 3 months and I could not concentrate at work anymore.
I later lost my job but I felt like that was part of the many sacrifices we have to endure as parents.
I'm from Kenya, I wish I could read your book.
My mother told me that motherhood is a calling, because we sacrifice so much for our children.

I love that Trevor gives us a focus when he does interviews. A guest should tell us what motivated them to share their information or experience, not just give out information for publicity or dramatization. “What do you hope readers understand from your journey?” Expectation audience should receive something significant from reading the book.

I can deeply relate to the need for "radical transparency". When "loser juice" is all over you, those heavy feelings of inadequacy are unbearable, especially for a high achiever. And the inadequacy is not in your hands to fix? One of the healthiest things that can be done is revealing, exposing. Talking. Out loud. Writing. Communicating. This is "The Heavy Cream" that we keep to ourselves. Not because we're trying to be fake, but because we're trying to spare the people around us from the heaviness of what's troubling us. We don't want to be a downer, who is thought of as never happy. When we have intimate, vulnerability issues that would be made better if we felt safe, protected and unjudged to share that with someone who cares mutually. It's not about that person fixing my problem, necessarily, it's more about not being looked at as a bother because I need human contact and intimate communication. Support. Encouragement...sometimes. Being told quote "you'll get over it." Doesn't help and doesn't seek to try to help. Thank you for specifically this type of content on your show Trevor. It's more helpful than you realize. I truly appreciate your hard work.
