Install Android Pie [9.0] One UI on Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 edge [with Twrp recovery, Magisk root]

This video is about how to install Custom rom based on Android Pie 9.0, called Black Diamond N8 V10 on Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge. Also in this video you can find detailed steps how to flash TWRP custom recovery and how to root your device by flashing Magisk.

Requirements:
1: A computer with Windows.
2: An Internet connection.
3: A backup of your phone data (contacts, photo, music, videos, and other).
4: About 4 GB free space on your SD card.
5: Phone charged at least 80%.
I do NOT take any responsibility for bricked devices!
How to install:
Make sure you have T.W.R.P installed.
● Make sure your phone is charged at least 80%.
● CopyBlackDiamond.zip to your ExtSD.
● Copy Magisk.zip to your ExtSD.
● Open T.W.R.P and perfrom these wipes (Internal memory,system,data,dalvik,cache)
● Flash the rom.
● In aroma select full wipe too.
● Do the aroma setup.
● Let the rom boot.
● Once rom boots leave it to settle for 5-10 min
● Open T.W.R.P
● Flash Magisk.zip
● Do the setup and download your apps.
● I highly recommend not to restore apps via T.B or any backup app. download them from store.
● Update all system apps from google and Samsung stores.
● Enjoy the rom.

Thank you very much. This still works as of May 2024. Some download links were dead so had to find links elsewhere but still worked. The interesting cool thing I noticed is even with all my apps and data on the phone, I have lots more free space compared to the original rom.

Does this work on the US version Snapdragon or only Exynos? I ask because the TWRP states only for Exynos.

Hey Carlos, this one is Exynos only. You can check at xda developers there are two separate threads, one for Exynos roms, and one for Snapdragon :) Hope this helps you.

Sure, I can try. Please provide me with more details. On which step? Vol down+Home+Power, is to enter download mode.
Before that enable developer mode like shown in the video.
Or after flashing the twrp you cannot enter the custom recovery with keys?

Try when uncheked auto-reboot option in Odin. Then try to boot in twrp. Or if checked, you need to react fast right after reboot to hold keys to enter the recovery. Otherwise it will just reboot the device.

Sorry for the late reply mate. If this is the US model, I'm not sure, please to make sure check on the xda developer custom rom link provided in the description. Hm, not really sure. You have irreversibly tripped your Knox e fuse once rooting it. Rendering Samsung pay permanently disabled.
But what I can say is that even if I'm on BlackDiamond N8V10, is that I can use Samsung Health and Secure Folder with some small edit in (NEED to be rooted) :build.prop file (you can find it in Root manager, where editing: ro.config.tima=1 (change from 1 to 0). Save/reboot. After that you can unroot device, your "Samsung Health" and "Secure folder" will work. Cannot guarantee that Samsung Pay will work also with this edit. I don't use Samsung Pay 🤔 P.s please write if you try if it will work for you.

As for twrp, you can find for every version of s7 which one you should download twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys7.html respectively for each region. Guessing this is Asia Exynos version that suits for you. And as for ROM itself, check under xda is it also supporter for your device. I'm pretty sure it is, since on their page says g930x/g935x which is I guess for s,f and other versions... please make sure if it is. You can find link in description of this video, taking to XDA page.

@@raymarmendoza hm, what I can say for sure that on latest G930FXXU8ETI2 there are no issues. Number 8 means binary version 8. So it is fine as for TWRP and BlackDiamond V10.
But in your case I see you have binary 3 if I am not wrong.
There is a Telgram group under BlackDiamond page on XDA you can find a link in their description. I'm sure you can find answer there :)
