- The final scene of Richard Strauss and Stefan Zweig's "Die Schweigsame Frau" performed live by bass Kurt Moll (1938 - 2017) in Munich, 1972. The full production/opera has been uploaded to RUclips by user Huw Zosimos (who has also kindly added the English captions), and I highly recommend you check it out:

RIP Herr Moll. the best bass voice ever and your acting fabulous..
Such resonance is rare and makes the voice come alive and brilliant
What a bass bloody magnificent
1:30-1:42 is such a beautiful phrase. It melts my heart every time.
Herr Moll : der beste Morosius des 20sten Jahrunderts. RIP grand artiste.
Tres grand artiste, voix magnifique....
Never mind the best of the 20th century - any era is going to be hard put to it to find a voice and a presence like this
@@jonathanhill4892 I'm forever grateful that some of my formative memories (Gurnemanz, Marke, Ochs) were shaped by seeing Kurt Moll live. He was one of the greats. That said, I don't think we shall ever run out of great voices. The golden age is always now; but nostalgia is obviously perfectly understandable. Certainly when facing the likes of Moll.
Superlative singing of course, and a wonderful conclusion to an opera that is full of fun. Thanks for posting this
Mit Donald Grobe und Reri Grist ❤
In this video Kurt Moll was 35 🙀
Amazing!
Such beautiful Chaos
The top is almost more beautiful than the bottom, if that's possible
His voice and his manner of singing is so beautiful throughout his range that one cannot choose between the top and bottom ... listening to Herr Moll forces one to expand one's mind to be able to comprehend what the soul is experiencing!
Ahhhhhhhhmm
