Yessir!! Gotta love crappies! Would love to fish those ledges, always have best luck on ledges or drop offs. Only manage one and lost one crappie yesterday. You got into them. Great tips and video!
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors yeah we here people call it the narrows to I was wondering I am going there today and I went yesterday but I got bass using crappie baits do have any bait suggestions for crappie
That's why I like that Jig pole. I keep it lined with 2lb mono. I have recently evolved to using a medium light and a pflueger president. Cataract is a lot of fun to fish and should be ready to go right now
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors I had to revisit your video. What a wonderful site to fish and solve the world problems, Ha! I remember one Fall evening I was sitting on that same ledge, fishing a little white beetle spinner. I didn't have much line out as I was just lifting the spinner out of the water. All of a sudden, a big brassy-gold flash annihilated my bait. It was a big walleye, but the critter got lucky and snapped my line or it would have been supper. Now living in the area of the Salamonie Reservoir, I should have more fun at crappie fishing and who knows.....maybe a walleye for dinner. Best Regards, Kip W.
I was there today doing some boating and a little bit of fishing in should have been dropping the crappie jig in instead of jumping off the rocks🤦🏻♂️😂
I love your fishing spots man. I’m jealous. I have so much trouble on the west side fishing creeks and rivers. I always get confronted by someone saying I’m trespassing. Great video.
A lot of folks come from the Plainfield and avon area to fish here. This place is probably close to you. I know a great creek off of this lake if you ever want to get together 🤙
I've been hitting catarac hard this year for crappie, but I haven't jigged for them there yet. I've been using minnows so that I also get on some big channel cats. Awesome video man, you got me ready to go back!
Doe creek is a beast! Definately be there for some big crappie and the cats move in there during the early summer spawn! Catch them channels on them jigs when they're in there.
@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors I DID actually catch catfish near that spillway, but I guess it was the middle of July everything was dying from the heat a couple years back
@omniXenderman I recommend checking out the bluffs where I'm at in this video. Before you get to the boat ramp inside the park there is a turn off on the left. It goes back and has a trail that goes down hill to the lake. That's this cove. We've caught flathead and channels here plus it's a hot crappie spot during the spawn.
You gotta be half mountain goat to fish like that. My big arse would have been in the lake. All you had to do was mention Small Water Charters and that big speck jumped on it. Must have thought momma was there. Great video.

Thank you sir! We appreciated your auction info!!
I love cataract lake and crappie fishing tho I prefer using ultra light rod and reel, like to let em fight a little before reeling em in 👍

Sweet video! I love the simple presentation. Although I would have fell in the water haha
You were on to them today! Great video!
We had so much fun!! I had a hard time picking what catches i wanted to use lol we finished the day with 60 catches and brought home I think 12.
I have fished that spot many times. Caught many fish! I know where you parked and the quarter mile you had to walk to get there. I'll never tell.
I've been coming here since the trail was gravel. Absolutely love it here.

Nice full stringer! Nothin better than some good Crappie fishin! 🎣👊
Man my favorite activity this time of year!!
You know it’s a good day when you are putting one on the stringer and catching another at the same time!!! Great stuff 👊
It happened so many times that day!! Not a usual occurrence while jigging for me.

😂 the right time of year usually around April those rocks are loaded with crappie
Love me some crappie. You sure did give them the METAL bud 🤘
Not much better than slinging slabs on jig rod 🤘

All I ever catch at lieber are those weird carp looking chub type fish
Try between April into May. Crappie are spawning during that time. You can find them at the falls and the creeks running into the lake.
