    I LOVE how, even though it is 2016, he went juuust to the 10 minute mark, but didn't go past it. Usually people go out of their way to do so, so they make more money. That's really cool, bro!

      +Princess Peach This was great, I've been looking for "portraits drawing" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Qonubrey Wenria Domination - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my neighbour got amazing success with it.

      it doesn't matter the brand if you know how to make them work and are a good artist, i paint with prismacolor and with crayola, and i do struggle a little more with crayola but they end up basically de same. put on them some effort and you'll see they're pretty amazing actually

    It looks like you may be using an eraser for the highlights, if I'm not mistaken? I was wondering what type/brand of eraser it is. It looks electronic but I wasn't positive (sorry if you say in the video, I may have missed it). I've been searching for a ultra fine/detailed eraser for my Prismacolor colored pencils and your highlights are stunning and very striking. :)

    This is beautiful! Thank you so much! I was having so much trouble starting off. Color picker helped tremendously! I found my problem was maybe tunnel vision and getting caught up in the colors not exactly matching what I saw vs the paper. ...once you start layering on the colors and onto the next shade, it starts to pull together nicely. thanks.

    I've got to get one of those white markers. I like what you did with the hair. I need white for cat whiskers.

    Thanks for demonstrating this technique and using artists pencils again. I'm not sure what it is, but I just can't get the vibrance that you get with the artists pencils. I'll try them again! Awesome production on the video BTW!

      +Matt Stapleton Thank you so much :D try changing the paper. paper is very crucial for artists pencils.

    • @mattstapleton1790
      @mattstapleton1790 8 лет назад

      You're right about the paper. The first time I tried the Artist's pencils was on a 140 lb. hot press watercolor paper. It was my first attempt at replicating your "stare" video. I have no idea as to why I tried it on hot press! I think I have watched that video 100 times, and stopped it 500 more times to see which color you were using. Eventually, I was successful using Prismacolor Premiere on Strathmore 400 series drawing paper. I still struggle with skin tones, (red and yellow) lots of hatch marks. I'll look at your materials list for paper. So, thanks again for all that you do, I would not be where I am at now without your videos!

      Thank you so much for all these kind words :D :D To avoid hatch mark use pencil with light pressure and build the color layer by layer. I usually draw in a very close zigzag manner and i move the pencil in all possible directions. I am using canson fine grain paper and it takes a lot of layers even with waxy pencils.
