I'm amazed this series hasn't come back. It would fit in so well with the current obsession with open world. Throw the player into a giant world populated with dinosaurs. I suppose Ark has that role now? Still, rather a more linear game with a tight story, but apparently I'm in the minority there.

As a huge fan of the original series, this game broke my heart. No mention of the lineage. A planet with dinosaurs and giant insects, no lost land. In the lost land past, present and future collided. You could be going up against virtually anything. There were maybe four or five enemy types in this game, and a seriously diminished arsenal. Ron Perlman is awesome, but not enough to save a game. Tried too hard to be a military shooter and lost its identity. Some of the dinosaur designs were pretty cool though, and the arrow physics were a lot of fun. *shrug*
This game was basically my "babby's first fps" when I was like 9 and I think my mom bought it for me because she saw it had dinosaurs and I loved dinosaurs. I never beat this game because it was too scary and hard for 9 year old me. Thank you for taking me through a trip down memory lane Matt.
What would have been cool with this game, is if Turok did have a regular name, and this planet they landed on housed The Mantel, that he uncovers and inherits. It would be like from an ancient civilization or something, and there'd be a holographic version of Adon. I think this would make a nice little reference to the original series, while still doing it's own thing.
I like the idea of the protagonist being a Space Marine from the future and kind of stumbling into becoming Turok. Keeping that as the introduction and having his squad get decimated by a new Campaigner who’s trying to cause planetary genocide using his dinosaur army would feel much closer to source material, and would’ve made for a more entertaining game in my eyes.
A character named Slade voiced by Ron Perlman? I wonder if this is an intentional reference considering the Teen Titans cartoon ended two years prior to this games release.
Just to clarify: Horizon Zero 10/10 game. I'm not saying a Turok version would be **better**, but it would be dope to have! Have the intractable tribe, see the past Turok and work up your right to succeed the mantle as the next Turok, and slowly see the threat scale from just dinos to aliens and monsters and other Sci-Fi stuff!

I sadly never got introduced to playing the original games but this one. I liked that the character was a Kiowa Native. And the whole ya know shooting dinosaurs, finally correcting Jurassic Parks mistakes.

Not sure if it's because I was a dumb kid when this game came out, but I remember the final fight being really good. Being a dino obsessed child I thought this game was great at the time, they used the T-rex really well throughout and even now I remember some great set pieces towards the end.
This is my favorite Turok to play, but maybe the second best (IMO) to Evolution? >_> Adam Beach was set to play Turok in a live-action film. I still want the movie, lol. DAMNIT TOUCHSTONE!!!
The Turok games and the weapons in them were a hell of a lot more interesting back on the Nintendo 64. Turok (2008) just sucks huge dino balls. EDIT: Forgot to mention that having the knife out is the only way to move faster in Turok (2008).
It feels like if they reworked the story to include a bit of the Turok lore it could fit in without feeling too out of place. Space marine slowly realizes he’s a Turok while also learning there are bigger threats in the universe than just some guy he has a grudge against.
I always really liked the dinosaurs in this game. The shooting is kind of meh, the dinos are the real fun (IN A TUROK GAME?). It was so cool seeing them kind of ragdoll but not really because there was still some movement to their limbs, like death throes, but they were still all dead and ragdolly and flopping all over. Wow, that was kind of fucked up to say.
I love the concept of this Turok but it definitely needed more work. I actually enjoyed the characters and story. But the gameplay was pretty rough at times.
Defintely wouldn't mind you covering Timeshift in some form or another, given that it's development and how it's like, one of the few games I can think of where they put out a playable demo before rebooting the entire project.
I legit forgot this game existed. I remember the multiplayer being pretty fun, and it lacking any kind of autoaim on consoles, which made aiming...Complicated.
Games like this should come out at half price or less because people would actually buy this for 20 or 30 dollars between big games. I remember renting this too and enjoying it for what it was, a decent shooting game with dinosaurs in it.
There are only two things that are good in this game. 1 the dino knife kill animations and 2 shoving a grenade into a T-Rex's eye and watching half its head blow up into bloody chunks.
Even I, a relative troglodyte living in the Pre-Cryo/Stasis era, can presumably advise against wearing live ammunition and grenades inside your sleeping pods. 2:10

Love your flophouse plays and Wha Happens! Always learn new things when watching them. May I suggest Timeshift or Singularity as flophouse plays. Both are decent games that deal with time manipulation.

You get a shotgun later where you can shoot flares that distract Dino’s or shoot them at humans and Dino’s will attack.also you fight that T. rex twice and some sea monster thing and some bugs.7/10 worth finishing but not worth playing again unless multiplayer which is of course dead.

No you are wrong dude this turok game was actually successful enough to guarantee a sequel but it was cancelled before it was even announced by disney unfortunately and if i remember correctly it sold more than 1.2 million copies and you can find two videos on youtube showing the concept art for it and it would have been closer to the original trilogy just type turok 2 cancelled and you will find 2 good videos for it.

Well to give the game probably more benefit of the doubt than it deserves but wasn't "Turok" being a title only something created from the Acclaim-version of the character onward? Before that I think it might have simply been the character's name in the old Goldkey and Valiant comics. Granted I'm not the biggest buff on Turok's myraid continuities.

I remember it being a blockbuster rental and a never touch again type game for me. I rented it and was so let down it wasn't more like turok 2 or 3 and i ended up playing it for the weekend and took it back.
I have a lot of nostalgia attached to Turok Evolution due to it being one of the few first handful of games I had on the Gamecube back in the day. That being said... can we get a "Wah Happun?" on this? Is there enough to make a video out of?

Instead of a new, classic style Turok game by Nightdive, I'd like a series reboot by someone like Machine Games.

I remember the first time I played this game I made it all the way until the giant eel monster; eventually I figured it out.
Also Turok Evolution gets way better when you get towards middle Part of the game.

Well, the original Turok from Dell Comics and Gold Key Comics was actually named Turok. I just found that out awhile ago.
For Disney to avoid any issues, they released this as Touchstone Games... one of the studios they own but technically make movies... lol.

Honestly if the bow kills people in one hit, the arrows stick out and the dinosaurs have kill animations for enemies that was enough for me.
